What are some jobs you can get using piano skills?
Only a tiny number of musicians are able to get profitable jobs as performers. One fairly accessible non-performance job (and one of the most profitable ones) for a pianist would be piano tuning. It requires special training beyond just knowing how to play the piano, however. Many pianists offer private piano lessons, but you must be comfortable working with children (i.e. have lots of patience) before attempting that. Some large churches pay their musicians (including pianists), but you will probably have to agree to their doctrinal statement and attend that church in order to get such a position. If you are willing to get a college degree (which usually involves learning at least two or three instruments besides piano), you can also get a job as a middle school or high school music teacher, but again you must be comfortable working with kids.

What is the value of a Baldwin acrosonic piano 846601?
Due to the age of the technology and the fact that Baldwin absolved any responsibility for supporting it after they sold the Pianovelle line to Gibson, it's not worth much. I'd say no more than $500 if it's in good working order. I have a client with one who is in need of the Operating System Disc that it comes with from the manufacturer. Their OS has become corrupt and the piano won't even play at the moment. If anyone has a disc I can buy or perhaps get a copy of, great! - craig@easicomputers.net

How do you know what key a piano piece is in?
Sometimes it is the note that the song keeps refering back to. But one way is to find the last note and see where it is on the staff, and it's either that key in major, or the relative minor key. Also look at the first note. The chorus or refrain a lot of times is the key of the song, even if the song starts off minor. I kind of get a feel for the key by the first chord of the first verse; the intro may be a different chord like a fifth in a blues song. An example is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star; the first note, and the first chord is the key, and at the end of the first line the song reverts back to the root, or key; "Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are." "Twinkle" is C, and "are" is C. The song is in C major. you count the number of flats or sharps that are in the key. if there are sharps then you count them out (FCGDAEB which is the order of sharps) then you count one letter after in the alphebetic order. So two sharps for example would be in the key of D. If there are flats you count out the number of flats (BEADGCF) then you count back one in the order of flats. So if there were 3 flats in the key signature you would be in the key of E flat. its a little confusing at first but after you do it for awhile it just comes natural.

When did ivory stop being used in piano keys?
Plastic piano keys were introduced in the late 1920's
The advantage of plastic keys is that they were white, didn't chip as much and were inexpensive compared to ivory
Advanced pianist still miss the ivory piano keys because they were not slippery like plastic and also the ivory keys absorbed sweat.
If you miscarry do you always have to have a D and C even if you are only a few weeks along?
It is not required to have a D and C if you are having a miscarriage. I had a miscarriage in 2002 and my doctor asked if I wanted a D and C or if I just wanted to go home and let my body complete the process on its own. My doctor explained that most women choose to have the D and C because it offers a form of closure. You are mentally and physically able to start healing after the process.
Sometimes miscarriages can be misdiagnosed. If your only symptom was bleeding, then the baby may well be healthy. A D.& C. at this stage runs the risk of aborting the baby if misdiagnosed. If combined with bad cramping and tissue loss, the survival chances are not so good, but even then not impossible. If after a miscarriage- real or suspected - you become feverish, that may indicate infection, which is serious.
