The first structures by which toxins enter plants growing in contaminated soils is the xylem.

The cells of the Dieffenbachiaplant contain needle-shaped calcium oxalate crystals called raphides. If a leaf is chewed, these crystals can cause a temporary burning sensation and erythema. In rare cases, edema of tissues exposed to the plant have been reported. Mastication and ingestion generally result in only mild symptoms.[2] With both children and pets, contact with dieffenbachia (typically from chewing) can cause a host of unpleasant symptoms, including oral irritation, excessive drooling, and localized swelling.[3] However, these effects are rarely life-threatening. In most cases, symptoms are mild, and can be successfully treated with analgesic agents,[4] antihistamines,[5] or medical charcoal.[6] Gastric evacuation or lavage is "seldom"[6] indicated.[4] Jennifer S. Boyle, MD, PharmD, and Christopher P Holstege, MD, note that, "In a large retrospective study of 188 patients with plant oxalate exposure, all cases were determined to be minor and all resolved with minor or no treatment". [4] They also note that, "In patients with exposure to toxic plants, 70% are children younger than 5 years".

No, in all the research Ive done on lions, I haven't read of any lion or sub-species of the lion that is poisonous. Cats in general have lots of bacteria in their mouths and lots of times a bite will become infected, if not tended properly. This goes for all cats, large wild cats to small tame domesticated cats. But, lions poisonous, not that I've ever heard of.

Antifreeze, it's sweet and 1/4 teaspoon will kill a dog, so be careful. Add fish oil to it, or and egg, even peanut butter. Anything with strong smell. Best poison around.

However, because poison is so dangerous, better to get a covered wire trap, bait with peanut butter on bread, stick to back of cage to make sure skunk trips trap. Drown in big rubbermaid storage container. Drowned 5 this week, no smell. Traps let you release other animals, just be careful releasing raccoons, they can be mean. Use a coat hanger to keep door open.

I was told that you need to use the "old style" antifreeze that contains ethelyne glycol (green). There is apparently some new stuff that will not work.

Someone suggested add dogfood to the antifreeze. Also, be sure the container is secure cause the critter will tip it over otherwise. That happened to me. will update once results are in.

Make sure your rabbit doesn't consume any pesticides, pollution, or other poisons; or any parasites left on the plants by another animal. Wash all greens carefully in vegetable soap (this is NOT the same as dish soap!) and have your rabbit's feces tested for parasites on an annual basis.

Rat poison is lethally toxic to pretty much all mammals - and birds - and fish - as long as they ingest enough of it. "Enough" isn't all that much either. Some common past ingredients of rat poison included arsenic, barium, and thallium. (If you haven't heard of arsenic as poison you probably haven't watched or read any old murder mysteries.) Newer ones are maybe not quite as toxic - but still really nasty. They contain stuff like diphacinone, bromadiolone and warfarin - all anticoagulants that cause internal bleeding. Highly toxic metal phosphides are also a common ingredient.

No such thing as a poisonous spider. Spiders use venom, not poison, and it differs greatly species to species. Poison = used for defense. Venom - used for hunting and killing stuff.
