How can people reduce pollution?

for air:

  • Reuse. recycle the waste as much as possible
  • Use bicycles
  • Do not use PUC neglectedvehicles
  • Use private vehicles to reduce burning of fuels
  • Make sure the industries nearby do not release harmful gases openly. Gases should be released through chimneys.
  • Do not burngarbage. Instead dump it to get degraded
for water

  • Do not useharmfulchemicals andfertilizersfor crops as when washed they enter water. Use organic fertilizers
  • Do not pollute water sources as species inside them may die
  • People who drink polluted water may also fall sick
  • Do not throw flowers, or any other garbage in water
  • Avoid Oil spills in water sources
  • Avoid ships blasting and other activities
for soil

  • Use organic fertilizers
  • Do not use too much fertilizers
  • Do not dump waste in soil which cannot be degraded. eg plastic bags
  • Do not make the soil saline
  • Avoid spraying insecticides on soil
for sound
  • Avoidingplayingloud music on streets
  • Avoid loud drumbeats
  • Do not play high volume music near hospitals, banks, etc
OTHER TYPES OF POLLUTION INCLUDE RADIATION (LIGHT) POLLUTION WHCH CAN BE PREVENTED BY USING LESS RADIATED LIGHT EFFECTS

Do atoms cause air pollution?

Yes they do in Molecular Form - please Note that there are innumerable [also known as

an Infinite number of] molecular compounds {a compound is a substance that is made from more than one Atomic Element} that may and do impact Our Atmosphere.

Does fossil fuel causes water pollution?

* Sulphur Dioxide,

* Nitrous oxide,

* Carbon Dioxide (greenhouse gas) * Carbon monoxide,

* acid rain (caused by sulphur dioxide mixing with water) * various heavy metals including * ** lead,

** cadmium,

** mercury.

How does water pollution affect tourism?

These 2 have similarities but air and water are 2 different topics.

Water pollution results in aciditation and warming of water, this has major environemtal consequences, like dying coral reefs and unbalanced eco systems.

Therefore certain destination will decrease in popularity, this can have massive economic consequences.

Also think of the regulations that arose because of the water pollution problems for for instance the cruise industry:

International

• International Convention for the Prevention

of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL)

• Safety of Life at Sea Convention (SOLAS)

• International Convention on Standards of

Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for

Seafarers (STCW)

United States-

• Title VII Certain Alaskan

Cruise Ship Operations

• Clean Water Act

• Oil Pollution Act

• Resource Conservation and Recovery Act

• Ocean Dumping Act

• Garbage and Refuse Protection Act

• Act to Prevent Pollution from Ships

• Marine Mammal Protection Act ICCL. (2012).

When water is polluted the clean water reserves decline, food would not be able to be watered and therefore increase in price. Money for vacation would be less.

Polluted water and air increase chances of diseases and the chance of unhealthy food growth.

With polluted air I am not so familiar at the moment.

However there are opportunities for the hospitality to go green. Hospitality industry is one of the most active industries in this regard. The tourism industry accounts for 1% of total CO2 emissions and working hard to get this down (green keys, LEEDS certification, Water programs national and international)

What is effect of air pollution to human beings?

Air pollution, where severe, can cause serious health effects on a population. If air pollution is severe, you can get eye irritation and/or have trouble breathing. People who smoke or suffer from respiratory problems (such as asthma, lung disease, bronchitis, etc.) are more sensitive. Of course, effects of air pollution will vary for the individual.

While air pollution may or may not cause asthma, it is more likely to trigger an attack if you already have asthma (but not as much as an infection or allergen.)

Smoking will have a much more serious effect on your health than air pollution. If you give up smoking, you will greatly cut down your risk of lung and heart diseases, and it will make you less likely to suffer effects of air pollution.

What is the effects of the pollution of the great lakes?

Pollution in the Great Lakes has significant ecological and health impacts, including the degradation of water quality and harm to aquatic life. Contaminants such as heavy metals, pesticides, and excess nutrients lead to harmful algal blooms, which can produce toxins detrimental to both wildlife and human health. Additionally, polluted waters threaten local economies reliant on fishing and tourism, while also disrupting the delicate balance of the lakes' ecosystems. Efforts to address these issues are critical for restoring and preserving this vital natural resource.

Where does trash go in the ocean?

Generally, trash stays in the ocean. Very little of it that washes up on the beach is picked up by citizens or paid employees of park, or city beach departments. (They tend to pick up only the larger items and leave smaller plastics behind).

Because of the circular circulation patterns (Gyres) of the world's major oceans, trash tends to gather in the center and stay there. (see "garbage gyre" or "northern Pacific trash gyre").

Plastics do not sink. Their density is less than that of saltwater and may eventually photodegrade but as they break up into smaller pieces they are ingested by oceanic birds, fish, whales, and turtles and often kill them.

Since the invention of plastics, they have been floating in the ocean. In the mid 20th century, it was commonplace to put trash on floating barges and dump it in the ocean. Some of that trash is still floating today.

Some efforts have been made to clean up the water with special conveyer-type trash picking boat/barges and have been successful in the areas they work, but this is only in bay areas, and not the oceanic garbage gyres. This is a big job. There is an estimated 3.5 million tons of trash covering an area twice the size of Texas in the north pacific gyre alone. (see Dr. Curtis Ebbesmeyer).

Advice: Go to the beach. Pay the price to park. Enjoy the beach! Then say thanks to the ocean and pick up some trash on your way out.

How environment is affected by human activities?

Drastically, of course

Think about what It's asking, how does the physical environment (everything around us) impact human activities.

We react to our environments, on this one (earth) we have taken a dominating role of shaping our environment to fit our needs. BUT at the same time our environment still impacts everything about our activities. Just look at the settlement of human cities for an example. Just about every major city in the world is built right along some ocean or waterway (to allow for transport of goods by sea).

What is the effect of use over utilization of ground water on water pollution?

Large populations bring with them unpermeable surfaces. Meaning that water from the surface is unable to percolate down through the ground in order to recharge the aquifer. This lessens the amount of water which is contained in the aquifer. With a large population also comes a higher demand for water. Meaning more wells and higher rates of pumping lessening the quantity even more. Basically death and destruction once it runs out. its has bad effects

What is the effect of water pollution on human and animals?

Polluting the water where animals live can be hazardous for their health and their environment. They can die from harsh chemicals or trash that is emptied into large bodies of water.

How does noise pollution occur?

There are many causes of noise pollution in our environment, but the most common contributor of it is transportation noises. Also, other causes of it are construction sites, events that use loud speakers and also the accumulated noises in congested urban areas.

How many diapers will baby use in one year?

  • One a day: 365

What steps are taken for incorporating new companies?

In the UK, you decide on a name, check it isn't already registered at http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk then either register it there directly online yourself, or get a company like this one to do it for you: http://www.registeredaddress.co.uk

You will need a Registered Office for your company. This is the address to which legal documents will be sent from HMRC and Companies House. It can be your home address, although many people use a virtual office or mail forwarding address, as they don't want their home address to appear on the Companies House website.

In the UK, you just need 1 director to form a company. He can live abroad. The registered office needs to be in the UK.

What are the advantages for littering?

Convenience, and it usually takes only 2 people to carry.

What Activities are Harmful To the Environment?

Human population in advancements of urbanisation and industrialisation has led to human activity in the increase of pollutants in water bodies, air and on land. The increase in carbon emission with burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, destruction of natural flora and fauna, oil spillage in seas, use of chemicals on land, mining and maximum exploitation of natural resources without sustaining the sustainable levels have led to the degradation of the environment

What is the purpose of acid rain?

Acid rain serves no purpose. It causes environmental damage.

Acid rain is a process where the products of combustion (sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen) mix with the upper atmosphere in the formation of rain, causing the rain to have a slight to moderate acidity.

Acid rain can destroy forests and natural habitats. In this process, the ecosystem or interaction between plants and animals is altered.

What will happen if there is too much oxygen in the air?

More oxygen means less CO2 so we could experience global cooling. Oxygen also feeds combustion so there could be bigger and more frequent forest fires.

How frequently is pollution check required?

One of the main causes of air pollution in cities is emissions from cars and trucks. An old or poorly tuned engine will produce more pollutants than a new or well tuned engine. Old catalytic converters will allow more pollutants to leave the car and enter the air.

Emission checks are meant to discover vehicles that exceed the allowable emission limits and make the owner fix the vehicle or take it off the road.

How do you stop traffic jams?

mainthing is every one should follow the trffic rules than automatically traffic is control it is simpl.

Answer:

How do you treat waste water into drinking water?

We remove solid particles from the water by passing it through several filters of various sized stones/pebbles and sand.

We use osmotic filters to remove salts and chemicals from the water.

We treat the water with a chlorine or other substance to kill any potentially harmful bacteria that may be in the water or will grow in the water.

What harm does Mercury cause to the environment?

Health effects of mercury include mainly:

  • Disruption of the nervous system
  • Damage to brain functions
  • DNA damage and chromosomal damage
  • Allergic reactions, resulting in skin rashes, tiredness and headaches
  • Negative reproductive effects, such as sperm damage, birth defects and miscarriages
  • Damaged brain functions can cause degradation of learning abilities, personality changes, tremors, vision changes, deafness, muscle in coordination and memory loss. Chromosomal damage is known to cause mongolism.

Environmental effects of mercury:

  • Mercury from soils can accumulate in mushrooms.
  • Acidic surface waters can contain significant amounts of mercury. When the pH values are between five and seven, the mercury concentrations in the water will increase due to mobilization of mercury in the ground.
  • Once mercury has reached surface waters or soils microorganisms can convert it to methyl mercury, a substance that can be absorbed quickly by most organisms and is known to cause nerve damage.
  • Fish are organisms that absorb great amounts of methyl mercury from surface waters every day. As a consequence, methyl mercury can accumulate in fish and in the food chains that they are part of.
  • The effects that mercury has on animals are kidneys damage, stomach disruption, damage to intestines, reproductive failure and DNA alteration.

Why is it important to recycle?

  • It is important to recycle because we need to save this world before it becomes a giant garbage dump!
  • I think everyone should recycle to try and help save most of the worlds resources and so that there is enough things for the future or next generations, and so that animals don't die and so that we don't destroy their natural habitat.
  • To reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. To reduce your carbon footprint and to help the ozone. It also puts a lot of commodity back into the system such as metal aluminum and paper.
  • Don't forget that when you recycle you are making the world more beautiful and healthy. Even the things you like the most could be recycled like a favorite shirt maybe it was once recycled and made into something you like.
  • Quite right, our planet looks disgusting at this moment, and if we don't start to recycle soon, then our planet will turn into a toxic waste dump! All our future generations will be held back and our race will not survive, so I think we should all recycle and turn our world into that green, blue and white lovely planet we all love.
  • Recycling is important because if you recycle you can give another life to your rubbish. Many trees can be saved and we will have a better environment.
  • we need to recycle so we can help the environment and stop pollution
  • Because the land fill will slowly get smaller. (hopefully!)
  • People recycle to help the earth to become a cleaner and greener place!
  • Yes. We are polluting the earth by not recycling and filling the landfills with trash that doesn't need to be there.
  • Very important question. A Christian has a duty to recycle. Because if you believe in global warming for one thing you are saving this earth and millions of lives!
  • Because its helps save the earth and make it a better place to live. It also can keep pollution down and save animal and possibly peoples lives.
  • Because the old materials are reused again instead of having to use up all the new material.
  • Well one of the main reasons for recycling is,because we only have a certain amount of products on earth so if we just through them out it will be wasted and eventually we will be out of glass, paper, glass. but if we recycle it even though there may be a possibility that we run out even from recycling we have been able to make new stuff like bags sun glasses certain clothes and heck if no one tells you what they are made of you wouldn't tell anyway.
  • Because when you don't recycle then there will be Co2 and Co2 makes global warming. Global warming can be very dangerous for us because because that means the Earth gets hotter and hotter and one day the Earth will be to hot for us to live on. People keep on doing this so when you are one of these people please stop that!!!
  • We must recycle in order to reduce landfill waste. Many beautiful parks and lands are being taken up by trash yards because we produce SO much. We are so many people on Earth so we produce SO much. We all have So many cars that produce harmful gases that warm up the Earth. That causes ice caps to melt and temps to rise. That causes floods and wave damages. People who litter and do not save the Earth, thank you so much. Please RECYCLE! Save our home; our Earth. We were not made to deteriorate our home, we were made to live in it and cherish it for our children and so on. Keep it clean. Forever.
