More than likely it is a fuel related problem. It could be a clogged fuel filter, the float level in the carb set too low, or the fuel pump may be going out. These are the first things I'd check.

Pop the hood and right beside the headlights on each side there should be a black cover, it may be rubber or plastic take them off and there should be things you can turn to raise them up and down.

No, I would use regular power steering fluid in it, these newer cars aren't like the old cars where you could use tranny fluid in the power steering.

if you haven't already then hook up fuel pressure tester to fuel line (buy pretty cheap or rent) it sounds to me like when eng. not running key on then start it runs out of gas after min pump cant keep up maybe bad pump barely pumping or plugged filter.
