What are good ways to naturally speed up contractions?
== == There are a number of natural methods:
* take a long walk * eat spicy foods (with chili peppers) * have sex with an orgasm and hips elevated to allow sperm to rest on the cervix * eat, drink or insert herbs such as flaxseed oil, black or blue cohosh, evening primrose oil, cumin seed, GoldSeal tincture (research doses and uses for safe and effective results)
* drink Castor oil with orange juice (again, do some research first)
* nipple stimulation and/or pumping colostrum * enema with or without herbs added
* put acupressure on the "spleen 6" area * deep relaxation or meditation * eat a honeydew melon
* sit on a yoga/exercise ball
There are also massages, acupuncture and chiropractic methods that a practitioner can help you with. Avoid methods that can be stressful or harmful to your baby such as fasting and dehydration. While these may start your labor, they can cause unwanted and harmful complications.
I will tell you what worked for me twice, sexual intercourse! Within 6-8 hours I was in labour! Its to do with the semen softening up the cervix. Scrubbing the kitchen floor. It used to be thought that this was an old (mid)wives tale, but research has shown that the 'hands and knees' position does help because it helps the baby turn into the best position for its head to fit tightly to the cervix. I had a first time Mum in labour who was having quite a difficult time, even in the birthing pool. She then turned onto all fours, water supporting her bump, and had her baby within the hour. Sexual intercourse works too, there is prostin in semen, which is what is used to soften the cervix if you are being induced (prostin that is, not semen)

Are you allowed to go on an airplane while pregnant?
Generally, pregnant women can fly on a plane as long as the pregnancy is progressing normally. A pregnant woman should check with her doctor to be sure. Also, pregnant women should check with the airline directly as some require a note from a physician in order to allow women in their third trimester to board. There are a few things pregnant women can do to make plane travel more comfortable. They are:
When making a reservation, a pregnant woman should request an aisle seat so she can easily exit the row for bathroom and stretch breaks.
Ideally, she should try to obtain a bulkhead seat as they generally provide more leg room. Also, some travel industry experts report that air circulation is better toward the front of the plane, so pregnant women should keep that in mind when booking seats.
Pregnant women should stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the flight. They should also try to avoid drinking caffeinated beverages.
How is the fetus affected when a pregnant woman uses caffeine?
Caffeine can pass from a pregnant woman's body into the developing fetus.
How do you do pelvic floor exercises?
There are several ways to do Kegel exercises to exercise the muscles you use to hold or stop urine flow. They are located in the pelvic floor area and are called the PC muscles (pubococcygeus muscles) and you clench, hold, release just as if you were exercising any other muscle.
One method requires you to have a full bladder, sit on the toilet and start to urinate, then suddenly clamp down and stop the flow. Start and stop several times in a row. If you can not cut off the flow of urine, but dribble on, it is an indication that you definitely need to start regular Kegel exercises. From then on, every time you urinate start and stop all the way until the bladder is empty. This is often called "the faucet" and the control of the dribble is a good indicator of your progress.
The PC muscles are the muscles that 'lift up' an erection - and exercising them, at least for me, improved sexual performance with a harder erection and sex felt more intense.
The related links below give more information on male and female Kegel exercising. A tool or device is not necessary. Devices that are external only, are not very effective, if at all. The internal devices that women have available on the market are used differently depending on the device and the purpose. One internal device that may be helpful in exercise is called K-BALLS, see below for an example of how these internal devices are used for women:
Sitting:Sit down on a chair and insert K-BALLS into your vagina. Close your legs after the balls are comfortably in place. Use your vaginal muscles to move the balls back and forth inside your vagina. Difficulty level: easy
Standing:Stand up and spread your feet shoulder width apart. Insert K-BALLS and hold them inside your vagina as long as you can. Difficulty level: moderate
Squatting:While squatting spread your feet as far apart as is comfortable. Without using any other muscles (ie. stomach, buttocks or legs), use your vaginal muscles to hold and/or move K-BALLS inside your vagina. Do not let the K-BALLS slip out. Difficulty level: challenging
Tip: Slowly increase length of use. Start with 10 minutes and increase by 10 minute increments. Use daily. Do not wear while sleeping or for extended periods of time.
Use Of Kegel Eggs:
The use of Kegel Eggs is very helpful in strengthening one's Kegel muscles. Kegel eggs have been used by women since ancient times to build up their Kegel muscles and quite frankly to improve their orgasms. The Kegel Eggs provide feedback to a women as she can feel them moving while she does the exercises.
Generally, Kegel Eggs are small egg shaped objects, most often made out of jade with a hole drilled into the narrow end to allow a string to be attached. The string is used to retrieve the eggs once a woman has completed her exercises.
Jade Kegel Eggs can be found in different sizes and weights which can be helpful as different women have different kegel muscle strength levels and sensitivity. Sometimes one is better able to feel a larger jade Kegel Egg than a smaller one. Other times it may be easier to move a lighter jade Kegel Egg than a heavier one. One can find jade Kegel Eggs in sets of three. Each egg is a different size and weight which provides for flexiblity given one's needs.
Jade Kegel Eggs can be used while laying down or standing. Admittedly, the standing position is more challenging as one is both moving the jade Kegel Egg and keeping it inside of her. Thus, it is normally recommended that when one is just starting out, that they lay down to use their jade Kegel Eggs. As one becomes more profient they can move to the standing position.
See the links below for more medical information about Kegel exercises and How-to instructions.

Can you ride a roller coaster at 7 weeks pregnant?
I would not recommend riding a roller coaster. The force of a roller coaster is almost the same as the one that astronauts experience on a rocket. Plus you will probably squish your belly in the safety seat or you may not be able to pull it down far enough to be safe. A merry-go-round or a Ferris wheel are safe to ride on.
Is riding a roller coaster a definite risk of having a miscarriage?
It's possible. It's not recommended that you ride roller coasters while pregnant. All the physical instability from a roller coaster could potentiomally damage the fetus.
The typical roller coaster starts out with a cog rail that boosts the cars to a height. Here, electrical energy is added to the system, and converted to gravitational potential energy. At the top, the coaster basically stops before starting the plunge. As the cars plunge, the potential energy is converted to the energy of motion (kinetic energy). If there are subsequent ups and downs, kinetic energy is partially traded back to potential energy and vice versa. At the end, a brake slows the cars down right at the finish, converting the kinetic energy to heat. During the ride, some friction also converts some energy to heat irreversibly.
Can you ride roller coasters with a hip replacement?
That would really depend on the type of surgery you have had and how much progress you've made. For the vast majority of people the answer will be yes. A roller coaster might be scary but you really don't move much in your seat. However if you've had problems such as an infection or have weak muscles its probably best avoided.
The bottom line - as always - is check with your professionals - either you doctor or your physical therapist. No one can give you a definitive answer without actually examining you.

Can you ride a roller coaster while being 3 months pregnant?
No! This is very risky. Some may disagree with me, but I know different. Anything that goes against the laws of nature, eg: extreme speeds, gravity defying, free falling, may have adverse if not fatal effects on the developing child. Wait until after the baby is born, then go. It's better to be safe than sorry.

How can one have a painless delivery?
You can't unless you have a c-section before you go into labor but that is only if there is something wrong with your or the babies health. And Braxton-hicks contractions happen before labor and are the starter to labor in the second trimester. Even if you get a c-section or epidural after labor starts you are going to have to go through the pain of one before they give you a epidural or say you need a c-section which can be up to days. All of us moms went through it and survived.
Can a woman carry her unborn baby inside her tubes without it affecting the baby or her?
A baby can survive in the tube but usually only 5 to 6 months. The tube can stretch. I am a nurse and know of one incident where the baby lived. But the tube has to be removed after the baby is removed. And yes, it is a painful pregnancy.
No, the baby does not develop normally, it can rupture the tubes causing internal bleeding and kill the mother. If this is happening to you, you must see a doctor and get it sorted ASAP. I had an ectopic pregnancy (baby grew in the tubes) and it nearly killed me! I had to have my tube and baby removed 3 months into my pregnancy but if you see someone sooner, you can save your tube and thus your fertility, and a lot of pain! An injection exists which can cause the baby to abort quickly and relatively painlessly, laptopic salpingectomy (the removal of the tube and baby) is painful, debilitating, leaves you less fertile, with an increased chance of future ectopics and with horrible permanent scars.
