Where is the thermostat on a rover 75 k engine?
The thermostat housing is right in the middle of the v of the engine, the injectors, fuel and air inlet has to be removed to get to it, the thermostat is in a sealed housing and the housing does crack slowly and break apart eventually, this will be noticed by water having to be added regularly with no apparent water leaks, the water first leaks in a fine spray and evaporates on the hot engine, later the housing will break open totally and you have sudden loss of all coolant, Never drive a kv engine any distance at all if the overheating signal shows.
No need to take it out. You can just unplug it or find and remove the correct fuse. Look for FrenchMike - rover forum - and send the webasto pcb to him for repair. Its simple to remove the pcb.
Where is the camshaft censor on a rover 75?
it is on the front of the engine, next to the oil filler cap on the v6 2.5l engine. I am not sure where on any other engine.
Why does rover 75 will not pick up speed until revs 4000 and then it shoots away?
If you have a V6 (2.0 or 2.5) then it is probably the VIS motors attached to the upper inlet manifold. They vary which air-plenum chambers are open according to revs and whether or not you are accelerating. One opens at 3000 revs and both at 4000 if I recall correctly. The motors often fail because they become oil-fouled or the micro-switches on the PCB board inside have come loose. They are repairable (see MG-Rover forum). Motors also fail if the butterfly valve or the slide actuator is stiff or seized. The butterfly valve (rearmost actuator) can be easily removed and, if you apply lots of patience, cleaned up. the other is more difficult and messy. The upper-manifold unit is bonded and cannot be taken apart to repair and a new one is very expensive.
How do you change a thermostat on rover 75 diesel?
To change the thermostat on a Rover 75 diesel, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Remove the intake manifold cover for easier access, then drain the coolant from the radiator. Disconnect the hoses attached to the thermostat housing, remove the housing bolts, and take out the old thermostat. Install the new thermostat, reassemble everything, and refill the cooling system with coolant.
Is a ecu and bcm same item in rover 75?
No, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) and BCM (Body Control Module) in a Rover 75 are not the same item. The ECU is primarily responsible for managing the engine's performance and functions, while the BCM controls various body systems, such as lighting, central locking, and other electrical components. Each module serves distinct purposes within the vehicle's electronic system.
What are the car stereo wiring colour codes for a rover 620?
For a Rover 620, the typical car stereo wiring color codes are as follows:
Always double-check with a wiring diagram specific to your model or consult a professional, as variations may exist.
Can you find leads to connect rover 75 haromy stereo to alpine CD changer?
To connect a Rover 75 Harmony stereo to an Alpine CD changer, you'll need to identify the specific wiring harness and adapter compatible with both systems. Typically, the Rover's connector will not directly fit the Alpine changer, so you may need a custom adapter or wiring harness that matches both units. It's also advisable to consult wiring diagrams for both the stereo and CD changer to ensure proper connections, especially for power and data signals. Finally, check forums or automotive audio specialists for specific guidance from others who have made similar connections.
