Why won't my Saturn engine will not shut off?
Some Saturns have a problem with their ignition system. It just freezes up for no reason. You have to replace the ignition cylinder, and probably the ignition switch, too. I have an '06 Ion that just did that a couple weeks ago. I took it to a mechanic, and he had to call Saturn to find out what was wrong with it. They told him to replace the whole steering wheel column, but I found out later that I probably could have just done the ignition switch and cylinder. You have to buy the parts from Saturn, and get the ignition cylinder keyed by a locskmith.

If the AC in your 2003 Saturn Ion won't engage, first check the fuse related to the AC system, as a blown fuse can prevent it from operating. Additionally, inspect the AC clutch and ensure it's receiving power; if not, the issue might be with the AC relay or the control switch. Lastly, low refrigerant levels can also cause the system to fail to engage, so consider checking for leaks and recharging the refrigerant if necessary. If these steps don't resolve the issue, consulting a professional mechanic may be necessary.
