How do you replace the Brake bulb on a 1999 accord 4 door ex Thanks in advance?

1) Unscrew the plastic trim screw and pull back the plastic/felt trim piece. Although you can touch the plastic lamp housings, I could not remove them easily. 2) Unscrew the three(3) 8mm nuts that hold the rear lens housing to the metal frame. 3) Pull the lens housing away from the car. 4) Turn the plastic lamp housing counterclockwise to remove. Note that this took a fair amount of torque on my car. Careful though, you don't want to break it. I applied some lube to the unit when replacing. 5) Remove and replace bulb. Test the other lamp functions while you are at it (back-up, turn, lights, brake). 6) Reverse the order to reassemble. (Good luck)

What do you do if you accidentally put ethanol in non E85 compatible car?

Do not start the vehicle, and do not attempt to drive it. The vehicle will need to be towed to a location were the tank can be emptied.

If someone attempted to start the car, you need to have all fuel lines drained, and the fuel filter replaced. It might also be advisable to have the integrity of any rubber hoses or o-rings in the fuel system checked. Ethanol can damage non-compatible components such as non-compatible rubber lines, o-rings, injectors, and in some cases even fuel pumps.

2000 Saturn wont start a security light flashes but that's it why?

There may be problem with you car's communication line between the Power Control Module (PCM) and the Body Control Module (BCM). There could also be a problem with the theft deterrent system. If the computer does not receive a signal from the security system, then it assumes that that it is being tampered with and will not allow the engine to be started. Have th car towed to GM dealership where a factory trained technician can properly diagnose the problem.

Cleaned start key for Monte Carlo and security light still on any other suggestions?

It could be you're alarm if you have one. Or it might also be that the sensor for the alti-theft isn't working. I have a remote starter in my 1996 Monte Carlo and they had to by-pass the alti-theft and that is why mine is on.

Your 2000 Saturn LS1 has recently had problems with the right turn singal shutting off the night lights when you apply it and kno it works but you have no night lights or high beams.?

The 2000 LS1, being the first year of the L-series, has had quite a few minor problems like that. That is caused by some of the wiring being chafed, and Saturn issued a recall in 2003 to fix this, and a few other problems with the car. The problem with the lights and blinker usually only occurs if you live in a humid area.

Where is the fuse box on an 2001 Saturn sl2?

I'm not to knowledgeable about that car but, most fuse box's are located under the hood in a plastic box near the driver or passenger side wall. Some cars even have fuses in unusual places, such as under the car seat; Back and front, under the steering wheel column. But, your best bet is under the hood.

Does the 2000 Saturn L series have the same size speakers as a 2000 Saturn LS2?

I am not completely sure.. BUT, what you might be able to do is look it up in one of the audio shops, such as Crutchfield who often have a speaker fitting program right online. Just input the year, make and model and it tells you which speakers to use as replacement, as well as OEM ones and compare them to each other, inputting both vehicles into the program should provide you with your answer. =] Hope it helps. Have a GREAT DAY and GOD BLESS the USA and our soldiers protecting Her!! =])

How do you know if its the O2 sensor or ERG valve?

The computer will tell you what's wrong when you run a diagnostic test. Borrow, rent or buy an OBD2 code scanner from your local auto parts retailer to find out what's going on. Some auto parts stores will even help you read the code... if they're not busy.

1996 Saturn ls2 has no reverse?

1. Saturn did not make the LS2 until 2000, you probably meant the SL2

2. If reverse is gone it's probably either the clutch pack or the valve body. Either way, you'll need to take the vehicle to a transmission shop.

Why is the oil light on in your 2003 Saturn l series?

The oil pressure light indicates that the oil pump INSIDE the engine is incapable of producing sufficient oil pressure for safe operation of the engine bearings.

Do NOT run any engine if the oil pressure light does not go out after it has been running for a couple seconds.

The oil pump pulls oil from the bottom of the oil pan, then the oil is pressurized to about 40 to 60 PSI. The pressurized oil is pushed through galley's throughout the engine, and ends up pressurizing ALL of the bearing surfaces.

As pressurized oil is forced into the spaces between bearings and the crankshaft or camshaft, it effectively isolates the soft babbit (rhymes with rabbit) metal of the bearings from the hard, polished surface of the bearings. Automotive bearings are engineered to prevent the two surfaces from coming in contact, meaning that the oil pressure must be constantly maintained if you want to prevent immediate and catastrophic engine failure.

The oil light can come on for any of several reasons.

  • Low oil level... very bad
  • Worn rod, main or camshaft bearings. Can be moderately to very bad.
  • Worn oil pump. Very bad.
  • Failed oil pressure sender switch. Annoying, but not bad.

If the oil has been allowed to run low, by the time the light comes on you have caused significant damage to the engine.

If the rod, main or camshaft bearings have worn, the gap between the two has expanded allowing oil to leak out at a higher rate. That makes it impossible for the oil pump to keep up, causing the oil pressure to drop and the light comes on. If that's the problem, use a higher viscosity oil in your next oil change. That can let you squeeze a little more life out of the engine and the light won't come on. Either that or rebuild the engine... but why?

A worn fuel pump can only be solved by replacing the fuel pump. That means engine dis-assembly.

If the oil pressure sender has failed, just put in a new one... but just understand, they don't fail very often.
