The evaporator is the coil that's inside the air handling system under the dashboard. It's similar in operation to a radiator, except that it makes the air cold.

To replace the evaporator you really should have a shop manual that has pictures and diagrams. It's not an easy process and will require that much of the heating system be disassembled, along with peripheral equipment that may obscure access.

Before replacing the evaporator, make certain that it really is the problem. The only real reason to replace an evaporator coil is if it is leaking. Most AC leaks originate around the compressor seal, the schrader valves or the rubber hoses.

It means that the computer system has detected a fault in one of the vehicle systems, and the vehicle needs the attention of a mechanic.

The front dashboard speaker grille is removed by inserting a small flat screwdriver between the dash and the edge of the speaker grille to pry up the grille.

The heater core, in a Saturn and 1200, is held in place by four bolts and two water hoses. Remove the bolts and the water hoses. The heater core will come out. Reverse the process to install the new heater core.

YOU don't, I know that's wrong, but there is no dip stick. Just watch for leaks, If you see none your fluid should be ok.

Under normal circumstances, you don't have to check tranny fluid. UNLESS it's leaking. If you want to check it to be safe, run engine till it's nice n warm. Put the car in neutral, pop hood and leave the engine running - would be a good idea to set the emergency break. There will be a RED dipstick (yellow will be your oil).

The heater core is located directly behind the console. It is the easiest to access that I have ever seen. First, drain the coolant. Remove the side cover on the passenger side, that is the panel where your left foot would contact if you were in the passnger seat. It is held on with velcro. You will then see the aluminum heater core with two lines going into it. These lines are pushed in and then have a goofy retaining clip to hold them in place. First remove the plastic clip that holds the core in. It is held in place with one Philips head screw. Now the plastic retainers that hold the tubes in place must be removed. I inserted a small screw driver into the opening and they flipped open. The tubes can now be pulled out of the core. Thet are held in by friction. There is a teflon backer ring and a rubber o-ring on the end of each tube. I had to pull pretty hard and at the same time push forward so the tubes would move forward through the firewall. Once the tubes are removed, the core can be slid out. No tools required. There will probably a lot of coolant leaking out, so make sure yuou have rags and towels in place to protect the carpet. Slide in the new core. I think the o-ring and backer should be replaced. I am doing this right now and plan on going to the GM dealer tomorrow to see if they have them. That's all I got for now!

I think we have the 07, and there is a fuse box on the passenger side of the dash. Open the passenger door to see a panel. Pull it hard to pop it off. The manual describes this.

Most any 2.2 liter Ecotec 4cyl up to year 2005, I replaced my 2001 L200 with one from a 2005 Cavalier. After 2005 the displacement changes and there may some fit issues. There are certain things from the old engine you will need to swap out but they are bolt on stuff.

Yes, there is a fuse that runs the sliding seat belt mechanism on the S-series Saturn. It's the same fuse that runs the door locks, so if the locks work from the drivers or passenger side, it's not the fuse.

The owners manual suggests that the seat belt track be periodically lubricated as part of routine maintenance. If the track is not properly maintained, the motor will fail. If the locks work and the seat belt doesn't, you probably have a failed motor.

There is a small lever by the door at the top of the back seat. Flip the lever and the seat should fold down.

No. Unfortunately, the transmission fluid level can only be checked by jacking the car up perfectly level, and then opening the overflow valve and filling with trans. fluid until it starts to spill out.

do not attempt this yourself im a licenced Saturn technician,the water pump is inthe timing cover which is no big deal but you will never time the engine without the proper tools,its quite in depth.

I could be the cooling fans running constantly. My 2001 L200 is doning the same thing, I'm still trying to find out why both Cooling fans run when the engin starts. It started a few days ago, It was so loud I thought it was a car ahead of me with it's horn stuck on.

I am no professional. It takes some doing. In my case, I had to pop out the plastic pop rivets holding on the black plastic cover underneath car. Then(here's where the pain starts)hold cover back and push arm in until you can feel the back of the coupler for the light you wish to replace. Squeeze tabs, twist 1/4 turn, and remove. The harness should come down far enough to be visible and allow bulb change. Install new bulb, reinsert into socket, and pop plastic rivets back in plastic shield.

It's either a leak or a head gasket.

2003 Saturn L200 holds 15 gal. of gas.

That depends on when the problem occurs. If it's only when you press on the brakes, you have a warped brake rotor which is common on any disk brake system.

If it's an acceleration pulsing, you could have a fuel problem caused by either a worn fuel pump or a partially plugged fuel filter.

If you're talking about lights pulsing, it's probably an annoying voltage regulator, but generally not worth repairing if it works well otherwise.

There is a fuse box under the hood, next to the battery. The fan relay is in there.

Were is the body control module located on 02 Saturn L 200

Relay is BEHIND the fuse panel under the HVAC controls. Access is gained through drivers side kick panel.

i'm having the same problem, the relay is under the hood, drivers side in fuse box.

dex-cool states 5 years or 150.000 miles use only dex-cool or premature corrosion to heater core or radiator

1. Turn the ignition to RUN, with the engine off. 2. Go to oil life on dash info.

3. press gas pedal 3 times, light will reset to 100%

This worked on 2006 cobalt SS. If this does not work try step 3 with key on off position.
