Why is a 1994 Saturn using oil?
Burning oil? Failed cylinder seals. More then three quarts a month, ditch the car. One quart or less isn't too bad. In that case you will need to keep an eye on the EGR valve nad possibly the O2 sensor (if your 94 has one) past the exhaust manifold. What's happening is that oil is entering the combustion chamber and ignighting with the fuel air mixture. The result is exhaust gas much more laden with soot. This soot can wear down spark plugs faster and thus the coil packs faster too. This soot covers everything and fouls up the EGR. If your engine decides to rev up on its own, a good bet your EGR has failed. Bottom line, less than a quart a month, remove the EGR every six weeks and soak the bottom in carb cleaner. Change spark plugs every six months. Autolites are cheap at wal-mart. The body on your Saturn is probably perfect, but a 16 year old Saturn motor isn't worth replacing the seals on.
How do you replace serpentine belt on 2004 Saturn L300?
1. Jack up the front of the vehicle.
2. Remove the drivers side tire.
3. Remove the fender liner by pulling the retainer pins. (you might want to get some replacement pins since they often break)
4. Pay attention to the current routing of the serpentine belt; it can be confusing when you try to figure out where the new one goes. It might be a good idea to make a drawing of the current routing.
5. Release tension on the idler pulley. It's spring loaded and it might be a good idea to have someone help at this point.
6. While the tension is off, pull the old belt off one of the pulleys. (that's where the help is handy)
7. Completely remove the old belt then examine all of the pulleys. Especially check the idler pulley bearings (spin and listen for noise or roughness in turning), examine the power steering pump and water pump for leakage and check the alternator for noisy bearings.
8. Replace any faulty components.
9. Replace the belt in the reverse order.
10. Put the fender cover back on.
11. Put the tire back on.
12. Lower the jack.
How do you flush the transmission fluid?
The way I do it is disconnect the trans fluid cooler lines at the radiator; collect the fluid while briefly running the engine (you will pump out about 2 quarts). Save all fluid removed so it can be accurately measured, because you should replace exactly the quantity you removed. Add fluid through the fill hole accessed by removing the red plug on top driver's side of trans near the air cleaner. Repeat the brief running and collecting until you have flushed 10 or 12 quarts. If you want to make sure the fluid level is exactly right on a Malibu, you need to go underneath and remove a plug there and fill until it runs out with trans at operating temp. I omitted this step since no leaks had occurred and I had the car since new, and accurately measured the amount pumped out and replaced with the same amount.
I have a 2002 vue 2.2....I had to replace the stabilizer bar end which made loud creaking sounds...The tech at the dealership said they replaced a lot of them...Pretty easy to fix by yourself...Just pull the tire and loosen two large nuts and put in the new one...
Can you convert a 2.2 transmission to a 3.0 transmission on a 2003 Saturn vue?
No a 2.2L transmission will not fit. There are some Saab manual transmissions that will match up to the 3.0 but it will probably require some work on your part in regards to electronics, drive shaft lengths, and shift linkage.
Oil filter location for 2005 Saturn vue v6 3.0?

Where does someone add power steering fluid in a 1999 Buick LeSabre?
Just found this info elsewhere for a '98 LaSabre...so might help you with your '99:
As you are looking at the engine from the front, it is at the back left, a little under and inside the rear serpentine belt pullies. It's hard to see, but if you look from the inside, down the back of the motor by the firewall toward the belt pullies, you should be able to find it. It is more difficult to access if it with a turbo. No wonder GM is going down the drain.
I would suggest getting a siphon tip for the power steering fluid with an on/off valve...I just added fluid to my 96 and could not have done it with out this tip because of the amount of time it took to maneuver the fluid container to the reservoir opening while holding the container upside down.

Change Oil filter cartridge Saturn vue 2008 2.4L Eng?
To change the oil filter on a 2008 2.4L Vue or Sky you need a special short 32mm (1.25in) socket with a 3/8 in drive. Here is a package that I found on eBay for the filter element and socket. Good luck!

How do you change transmission fluid Saturn vue?
You do not need to change the transmission fluid in the Saturn vue. It is a sealed system and only needs to be replaced when the trans needs rebuilding.
Where is the PCV Valve on a 2002 Saturn Vue?
If it has a 4 cylinder engine, there isn't one. If it's a 6 cylinder, I'm not certain.
Where do you find the transmission dip stick in a 2003 Saturn L200?
Can't say for sure on that specific model but many newer cars (GM and Ford mainly) don't have one. There is an entire procedure for checking the fluid. Just another way to get you into their dealerships
How many o2 sensors on 2004 Saturn vue 4 cylinder?
There are 2 O2 sensors. One is in the front (bank 1) before the catalytic converter, between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter, and the other is in the rear (bank 2) after the catalytic converter and is screwed in. The front one is heated and the rear is not. That means after the car begins to heat up the front one comes on and the rear is always on.
Where is the timing chain in a 2002 Saturn Vue and how do you replace it?
Early Saturn VUE's use a Opel designed V6 engine. This engine is also used in the Cadillac Catera, Saturn L series, and Saab vehicles. This engine does use a rubber timing belt that does have to be replaced every 90-100k miles. It should be noted this engine requires some very special tools to replace the timing belt. Pretty $$ tools. The tools can be rented here for 30 days: http://www.ledfix.com/timingbelttoolrental.html
How do you unstick parking brake on a 2004 Saturn Vue?
If the vehicle has been sitting for a long period of time with the hand parking brake set, a contact bond has occurred. This happened to me with a 87 Mercedes. I put the car in neutral and with a tow rope, gently rocked the car with a garden tractor till i broke the bond. Be careful, this method can be dangerous! Spray everything with liquid wrench first!
How do you reset after changing the battery Saturn 2006 vue?
Nothing to reset except the radio presets and the clock.
How do you replace the crank sensor?
it's tricky to get to but as long as you have ramps or jack stands it will be easy. once the car is off the ground high enough that you can fit underneath the engine, slide under neath and look for the starter. the starter blocks your access. remove the starter and you will see the single wire connection and the single bolt. remove the wire using a screw driver to pry the clip and undo the bolt. after that, use a pair of adjustable goose neck pliers to grab and twist the sensor and it pops out. to install do everything in reverse. grab and twist the sensor giving a little pressure to push it in place. then align and bolt down and hook the wire back, reinstall the starter and make sure it is properly mounted and you are ready to go.
Does a Saturn vue 2003 4 cylinder have a timing belt or chain?
The 2.2 liter - 4 cylinder - in a 2003 Saturn VUE must have a timing CHAIN because

Is it worth it to buy a 5 year 72K mile extended warranty on a 2006 Saturn Vue for 1700?
Very much so?YES There is something to be aware of: We had a 2003 Bonneville that was totalled in an accident. It was still under the factory warranty. Thankfully someone mentioned that we could get the money back for the extended warranty. It turned out to be somewhat true - I don't remember the numbers, but I believe that we got back less than one-half of what we paid for the extended warranty even though the car was totalled before the extended warranty had any value to us. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't get an extended warranty, but you will lose money if the car is totalled or stolen (and not recovered) before the warranty becomes effective. I don't know if this is true of all automotive extended warranties, but if it would make a difference to you, I would advise checking into it before purchasing the extended warranty. In case you are wondering, it was in the fine print of the paperwork that we signed.
