No matter the search engine you need what is called keyword density to be ranked for the corresponding keyword. If you are plumber, and you want to rank for "Pasadena plumbing" then you need to have "Pasadena plumbing" on your page within the context of your content. People have tried and tried to trick the search engines. If you are looking for stability it is best to stay away from this. The second important key to this process is to have people talking about you. This can be achieved by using social media, ie Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram... It is also accomplished by having other sites referring people to your site. This is what we call "back-linking." However, back-linking becomes almost irrelevant if you do not have the content.

The first technique is ON PAGE SEO (its a strategy where you can write the tittle of your ad and the description. Make sure please that you put some keywords in the tittle but even in the description so google can understand what is your target and show your ad to the people are interested of your topic)
The second technique is to write content about long tail keywords for example lets say we have a topic about digital marketing and we want to talk about this. The main keywords that came in our mind is “digital marketing” but if you do a search with this keyword on google, you will see that are a lot of content and the probability that you website gets higher are zero. So you can choose this type of keywords example “how to start digital marketing with zero experience” this is a keyword long tail that have not a lot of competition.
Third technique is to write valuable and unique content. Don't copy because google will discover through with their algorithm when your content is not unique and they will never show your website.
Last strategy I can suggest is to improve offline SEO.. It means that you have to collaborate with websites that have big notoriety for your niche and you have to write for them. When you do so they will permit you to put a link on their website where you can get traffic. Its called GUEST POST. (in YouTube you have a lot of content for this strategy).
On SEO the more traffic you bring to your website the more your website will get higher.

How do you draw web search engine?
If a web search engine was "drawn" on paper, it might look like a sun with lines for rays (links). Plus, superimposed amongst the "rays" would be triangles, squares, and diagonal lines between and among all the different "rays".
As an example, Website A is about Cats and contains 55 pages. From it's main page, it contains 110 internal links (within Website A) and 32 external links (going outside Website A). On each of it's 55 pages, it also contains internal and external links. Let's say this Website A has a good amount of traffic or uses keywords, so it appears in the top 20 entries of Google Search for "cats".
Looking at the main page with 32 external links (going outside Website A), we (or a web-bot spider) can follow each of these links to see where it goes.
