How do you replace an electric wing mirror on a Skoda Fabia?

If your skoda is 1999-2007 then

long story short:

Open the window fully, take off the door panel (3 little bolts in the bottom of the door panel, 3 big bolts behind the door handle (the one you hold when you close the door from inside), one little bolt behind the electric wing mirrors control knob, everything else is held by clips). carefully unplug some of the shorter wires connected to the panel so that you could put it on the ground rather then having someone hold it. take off the small triangular piece that covers the mirrors bolts from inside. unplug the mirrors wires, unscrew the bolt while holding the mirror and pull it out.

When you put on a new mirror everything is pretty much backwards.

Good luck

How do you change a stop light on Skoda fabia?

I only have the answer for the rear lights. I hold this info from the technical workshop manual I had to buy in order to find out. Still beats being ripped off by the local garage...

Before you do anything, please ensure you wear insulated gloves as you may come in contact with live wires.

Open the boot of the car and look at the part of the boot which is directly behind the tail light. There is a fixing nut there which looks like a standard screw. Unscrew it and carefully remove tail light from the body of the car. Now disconnect the main connector that links all the bulbs to the rest of the car. You can now safely remove the bulb from the casing and replace it. When doen, reconnect the connector and run trhough these instructiosn in reverse order.

Bulb references :

Light bulb for turn signal : PY21W 12V 21W

Left side Light bulb for fog light/right side light bulb for reversing light : P21W 12V 21W

Light bulb for tail light : PY21W 12V 21W

Light bulb for brake light : PY21W 12V 21W

Good luck

What happens if you put the wrong fuel in a car engine?

depends on the wrong fuel you put in it. There are a lot of different fuels. In general, if you put the wrong fuel in the engine, if its a higher octane it will over rev and blow up. If its a lower octane, it will puddle and flood the system.

How do you remove the plastic cover on engine of 1.2 Skoda fabia?

There are two hoses on the right hand side of the engine cover which houses the air filter, one is just rubber at the front and just pulls off, the one at the rear is a plastic push fit which you have to squeeze to remove. Once these are both removed simply grasp the cover and pull it towards you, it is on four mounts in the engine bay with rubber bushes on the cover.

What are the symptoms of a bad camshaft position sensor in a 2000 Skoda octavia?

The Camshaft Position Sensor is used for ignition timing and determining the RPM.

As the signal is needed for proper fuel injection, the fuel injection stops whenever there is no signal. Also the RPM meter drops to zero.

It is possible that the signal drops out for one or two seconds, and then resumes. In this case the engine will stall during the dropout, and (when not in idle) resume operation when the signal resumes. It is very well possible that no error condition is logged by the Engine Control Unit (ECU).

If the signal is completely gone the engine will not run or start. In this case an error code will be logged.

What does it mean when your Skoda fabia 1.4 auto hydraulic tappets are noisy?

it normally means there worn and could do with replacing, however mine have been noisy for 3 years, my partner who's a mechanic never does any thing on my car unless he has to, so when he changes the oil he puts a bottle of STP oil treatment in with the oil. this tends to make it a lot quieter. good luck

How do you disable the alarm on Skoda Fabia?

Turn the key to the locking position on the door lock once to lock the car when locking up. You will hear 4 (or 2 double) clicks. The car has been locked and armed. You should see a red light flashing on the driver's door. Do NOT hold the key in that position. This will cause all the windows to roll up (locking) or roll down (unlocking), so release the key to the neutral position. Turn the key to lock once again and release. You will hear a click, and the red light will stop flashing. The car has been disarmed.

How do you open rear door on 1994 Geo Tracker?

Pull the handle. If that doesn't work check for corrosion of physical weakness of the operator. Collision damage could also be an issue.

ANSWER: You may also have to do what I did in order to get the rear door open. I had to remove the interior trim panel from the door and lubricate the actuating rods. Years of dust had accumulated to the point of preventing the rods from moving.

How do i stop my Skoda fabia service insp from flashing?

turn ignition off. Press and hold small black plastic knob which is next to digital mileage display (Next to rev counter/speedo clocks etc.). Turn ignition on so all dash warning lights etc. illuminate whilst keeping button held down. The INSP message and little spanner should now flash too, and then it will go out and a line of blanks will show when done/reset (----). Turn ignition off and it will now be re-set.

How do you fix a power door lock?

The first thing to check is the switch. You can check it with a multimeter device with a continuity checker or ohm meter. The switch is usually on the door handle and in most cars it is held on by one screw. Remove the screw then slide the door handle either forward or backward then pull out. This will expose the wire harness to the switch. Disconnect it and remove the switch to test.

Also you can just run a hot and ground wire off a 12 V battery directly to the connect points where the switch plugged into the wire harness. If the problem was in the switch this will bypass it and open your door locks once you touch both the hot and ground wire to the contact points. There will be one common ground contact point and two hot contact points. One hot is for locking and the other is for unlocking. Touch the negative wire off your battery to the common ground then touch the hot wire off your battery to each of the other two contacts separately to see if both are working.

If the switch is working then the problem may be a disconnected wire harness, a shorted wire, a broken wire (open circuit) or faulty door lock actuators. To fix you must determine the source of failure then repair or replace what's needed.

How can I remove the plastic engine cover on a Skoda fabia?

If you mean the air filter housing, the one with the oil filler coming through it, it just pulls off. There are no screws, bolts or clips, so just lift firmly at each corner until it comes free of its mounting studs and the air intake, and then detach the one rubber tube connecting it to the engine and put carefully aside. You should probably put a clean cloth in the mouth of the air intake to prevent any debris entering the engine.

This is the case with my 2003 Skoda Fabia 1.4 16v
