yes they only eat clams, dead crabs, dead fish, and oysters!!! They eat small live fish and mollusks added to the list above. I never specifically feed my black mystery snail. I feed the fish and just figure the snail will get it's food from the algae growing in the aquarium. I've had the snail over a year without a problem. It just hatched out about 50 babies too, so it seems to be doing well.

Yes they do. I went & looked in my tank the other day and saw my snail on the gravel then i went back 20 minutes later and my snails shell was on its back with the shell empty. I then looked in the tank again 5 minutes later and one of my comet goldfish was vomiting up my snail :(
Yes, goldfish will eat snails if given the chance to.

The salt leaches the fluids out of the slug, due to osmosis. The slug then dies of dehydration.

Every mollusk except slugs, which have evolved to not need a shell, has a shell. Snails, clams and other bivalves have an external shell. Octopi, squid and cuttlefish have an internal shell.

The Spanish do eat snails but then so do the French and Americans and a lot of other nationalities.

Well, another weird food they eat is frogs.
