First of all: If you don't know what you are doing, be very careful about taking things apart. Note which parts have come from where, especially power cable. When taking a computer apart, make sure you know what your aim is, and only take out the parts necessary. For example if you are replacing a fan, only remove the fan and any parts that are in the way of removing the fan. To take apart any computer the first thing to do is remove the covers, usually held on at the back with 4 screws. Once removed you will be able to slide of the side panels and see all the components. At this stage I would recommend anyone who is confused by what they are looking at to stop and do some research on the components that make up a computer. Remove the parts that you need to, noting directions of clips, where cables are connected etc. Remember always remove static from your body by touching something that is earthed.
