Rancid oil has a very distinctive smell, and eating rancid nuts can make you sick.

How long does a yeast affection last?

Depending upon the type of Yeast infection. Not all yeast infections are the same; some may be far more serious dependent on their location on or in the body. If the Yeast infection is within the body, the Yeast infection may be short lived, if certain treatments are made to combat the infection; such as altering one's diet, improving the bacteria/yeast balance more favourably, specific use of drugs etc. In terms of a superficial Yeast infection of example the sexual organs, then very well the Yeast infection may last a lifetime. It has been written continually, that dryness, and medication are important. They are. However the Yeast benefits from moisture near skin sweat ducts, and can live under the skin for prolonged period. For this reason, you will have a chronic problem with Yeast/fungus. Skin-folds, moisture & Yeast. One possible cure may be prolonged exposure to an anti-biotic, for example if a Yeast does not cure with topical drug therapy, it is because the Yeast is able to hide, or avoid complete exposure to the drug. But if the Yeast is continually surrounded by unfavourable conditions to its growth and existence, then theoretically, a cure is possible. How can this come about? - 30 days saturation in a bath full of Antibiotic (e.g. Povidone Iodine, Ozonated distilled water, Ozone Gas Body Bag whereby the antibiotic completely saturates the skin) however the concept here, is uninterrupted exposure to the antibiotic - whereby, the Yeast cannot recover and regrow, since its growth rate is exponential; i.e. grows faster than you can count. Is this going to be harmful to You? (using extreme measures cited above) - no, any irritation will likely cause you to quit long before you suffer any serious life-threatening effects. However given the nature of the problem, and its irritation, only a seriously continuous therapy of the sort may prove successful. My name is Jason, I have a serious long-term chronic Yeast/Fungus, and I'd like to hear from you. jas9360@yahoo.com

Why do coffee freeze?

I am assuming you are asking why would you freeze your coffee...

You would freeze it to lock the flavor in and keep it from going "bad".

As coffee ages it releases gases. These gasses are where the flavor is. The more you save (freezing) the better it tastes. This works to a certain point as it only slows the process and does not stop it. There is also discussion as to if the freezing process alters the taste of the coffee.

How does freeze-dried coffee differ from standard instant coffee?

There are two main ways of producing instant coffee - freeze drying and spray drying.

In freeze-drying, brewed coffee is frozen into granules, which are then placed in vacuum chamber, where the water sublimates (evaporates w/o liquifaction).

In spray-drying, brewed coffee is sprayed in tower and dried by hot air in the matter of seconds.

Freeze dried instant coffee advantage: higher quality product, better preserved flavor.

Spray dried instant coffee advantages: faster and cheaper.

Should you freeze coffee beans?

Absolutely NOT. Freezing coffee breaks down the oils naturally in the beans. Coffee is very porous and will absorb moisture, and other flavors such as "freezer burn." Your coffee should never be stored in the freezer or the fridge. Keeping it away from air is the key. In a well sealed container, in a dark cabinet at room temperature, your coffee will stay it's freshest!!

How do you safely thaw out frozen food?

The safest place to defrost frozen food is under refrigeration.

Food can be defrosted under cold water, or in the microwave (although microwave settings vary), or ideally in the refrigerator. If you are going to cook it right away, a lower setting on the oven can sometimes be used.

Obviously, it depends on the type of food. Vegetables can be defrosted in the fridge, on the countertop if they are cut into pieces, or the ziploc bag can be soaked in water if you want to hasten the process. The same can be done with meat, except for the larger pieces of meat, which generally need to be defrosted in the refrigerator for 24 hours, and then brought out of the refrigerator, and left at room temperature for an hour before cooking. For smaller pieces of meat, you can defrost them in the microwave, but you have to be careful about accidentally cooking pieces on the meat. Cheese can be easily defrosted in the microwave, as long as you keep an eye on it.

Instructions on frozen meat and fish packages often say to thaw in the refrigerator. That keeps it from spending too much time at room temperature where bacteria grow best. Frozen vegetables don't matter as much.

If your food preparation method (recipe) allows for it, you can also put the frozen food directly into a pot for cooking, microwave it, or do it in an oven.
