Yes it could be failing, but read on.Crawl under vehicle and observe water pump area(where lower radiator hose attaches). There is a weep hole on back of pump. If there is coolant or traces of coolant residue. Suspct failing water pump or excessive pressure causing leakage. Excessive pressure can be caused by failing headgasket or gaskets. If overflow reservoir is slimy and dark,and overfull suspect headgasket.

1999 and older and 2005 and newer will not fit. Not certain about the '01, 02, and '03 but that narrows it down a bit. You are best off checking with the seller and, failing all else, your Subaru dealer.

Remove the 2 screws that hold the plastic lens, pull out burned bulb, push in new one (#168 or #194), verify if working, reinstall lens.....

No, Subaru's are the most over rated car on the planet. At any time over 60k the head gaskets will blow out. $1600. And at anytime over 60k the pistons will start slapping. That's the lovely tapping noise you will here every morning till the car fully warms up. And forget the cost of fixing that. Don't forget to carry some extra oil along, you'll need it. Junk

I just got a quote from my subaru dealer for a 2002 outback wagon with the 2.5 engine, and it's $1750.

Check to make sure you aren't covered under the recall. If you aren't......I had head gasket, timing belt, and drive belts all replaced for about $1100.00 on my 02 outback wagon. At the dealership.

You should never attempt to bleed your a/c system unless your are quailfied, the reason why is there is a low pressure side and high pressure side to your a/c system, and besides the fact that knownly releasing the coolent gas in to the air is a crime punnishable with fines, because it bad for the enviorment and to your health. if you don't do it correctly and release the high pressure side your very likely to injure youself. Beside the odd that the coolent gas is used up is slim, normally if your a/c isn't working anymore it mean you have a leak in your system and the gas has escaped.

See your user manual; it's great for help with all the basic maintenance. On my 2008 Outback 2.5 XT (auto climate control), it's the + and - buttons just to the right of the clock. I'm not sure if this is consistent among all 2008 Outbacks though.

There is a small black button hanging down just above gas peddel under your dash to reset this problem. You have to hold it in till you hear all the door locks reset ,then your lights will stop flashing.

In Subarus the temp control for the heater does not control the coolant flow, just airflow past the heater core. If you get no heat, there is no coolant in the heater core -- either there is no coolant or it is not circulating.

Automatic trans drain plug is on left side of pan(for atf). differential oil drain plug is directly below differential. Manual transmission has only one plug(below differential in center of trans)
