How do you take off a suzuki samurai convertible top?
I have a 1988 Samurai convertible. The top just has a series of snaps that must be unsnapped. There are two snaps at the upper corners of the windshield, and several snaps along the bottom sides and back of the convertible top. There are also two or three snaps along the top of the bow which is above the zippered window in the back of the vehicle. There are also two straps that hold the bow in place. My straps have Velcro so you just undo them. Finally, there is a bead on the top which fits into a vertical groove on the B pillar (the column behind each door). This bead is extracted from the groove by lifting the top vertically on both sides of the vehicle. It sounds more confusing than it is. Just start unsnapping and look for additional attachment points.
you would also need to replace both intake and exhaust manifolds. also, does the new head have a provision to power a mechanical fuel pump? The 2 valve per cylinder head has a shaft driven off the back of the camshaft to power a mechanical fuel pump. I know later samurais used fuel injection, so they needed a more powerful fuel pump and did not have the mechanical low pressure fuel pump that would deliver fuel to a carb.
What is the OHMS rating of an 87 Suzuki Samurai gas tank sending unit?
135 ohms new, and will function properly down to 114 ohms.
The chart in the '86-'87 book shows:
Empty=110 ohms +/- 7 ohms
Full=3 ohms +/- 2 ohms
1/2 full= 32.5 ohms +/- 4 ohms
It will bolt up. You can not install a 8 valve head on a 16 valve lower end without changing the pistons. The injection is completely different and wireing as well as well the computer. I just completed the swap with ALOT of headaches. believe it or not LOL we used a router with a mill bit to cut down the pistons talk about okie but hey its running perfect now 2000 miles later. my advise is keep the 8 valve head with the car change the pistons and use ALL the brackets off the 8 valve engine.
if it is more of a slapping rattle like metal to metal for every revolution of the motor check your crank pulley... my Zuk was making a similar noise... ended up being the 4 bolts holding the pulley on and sheared them right out of my crank sprocket... it sounds rediculous but trust me its worth checkin out

Your 87 samurai sensor light is on what is the light for?
It tells you to check the catalytic converter every so many miles and resets under the steering column with a slide switch.
Does your body warm up faster if you take your clothes off?
Think about it!
If you are going outside and you put on heavy clothing and coat you are insulating yourself from the cold. Insulation retards the transfer of cold to your body.
By the same token, if you are cold outside and wearing the same clothes and then go inside it will retard the warm from getting to your cold body (taking longer to warm up).
So yes, if you remove the insulation (clothes) inside trying to get warm it will heat you quicker (faster).
To sum up, it is the transfer of heat or cold, and the time it takes, that is affected by the insulation you wear, or not wear, and therefore whether you warm up or cool down faster.
they will fit with wheel spacers. but how much articulation you will have might be limited. you want small enough tires that you have max flex when off roading. if you are just going to drive it on the street you will be ok. the truning radius will be affect too. They will most likely rub on the frame when you turn. 33 x12.5 are really big for the samurai. anouther problem you are going to have is you are not going to have enough power when running down the road.
What would cause a Suzuki Samurai to bog down in fifth gear?
You are going too slow...... Having large tires will cause the available power (because of the high ratio) to not be enough to turn them. This assumes everything else is in reasonable condition and there are no 'problems' with the engine, like a cylinder misfiring or low power output.
Do you have a diagram of the firing order for a 1986 or 1987 1.3 liter engine?
The 1.3 8v firing order is 1-3-4-2. The number 1 cyl is in the front by the radiator numbered consecutively going toward the firewall.
I cannot seem to paste a diagram in here.
Suzuki samurai wont accelerate but will idle?

Where is the flasher relay on a 87 samurai?
. It is in the upper left hand side of the fuse box. Under the dash. Drivers side
That is actually how the vehicle was designed. If you look at the selector knob for the vents you'll notice that the arrows pointing down and for the windshield are white and the vents for the dash are blue. Basically, you can defrost and warm your feet and that's it
