How do they film sword fights?
They are choreographed just like any other simulated fighting in a film, and the shots are planned. Also they may not occur in the sequence in which you see them but may be filmed more than once from different angles and then edited together. Sometimes, such as in Troy the actors move more slowly than is seen on screen, they later speed up the footage. This makes the movements seem smoother. Also, it gives the actors more time to play out what their next move must be in ther heads, so there are fewer screw-ups, and less takes.
The Air Force Sword is the ceremonial edged weapon carried by enlisted airmen for special ceremonies. This sword borrows its design from the Air Force Academy Saber which was designed in 1955. The Air Force Sword is identical to the USAFA Saber in every way with the exception of the "US Air Force Academy" inscription on the blade. The Air Force Sword replaced the Model 1840 NCO Sword as the official ceremonial edged weapon for enlisted Airmen sometime within the last decade, although the transition was so gradual that I am having trouble pinpointing exactly when the change occurred Despite the numerous bad information given by Internet sources the Air Force Sword is not the weapon carried by Air Force Officers. Air Force officers still carry the Model 1902 Saber. In 1948, one year after the USAF separated from the Army, the Air Force Honor Guard was born. Citing the need for ceremonial edged weapons, they used the same weapons as the army due to their availability. This tradition has remained unchanged for Air Force Officers. The USAF currently does not have its own manual of arms and references Army FM 22-5 as the reference for drilling under arms. As of yet, the only published information outlining which weapons are to be used by either enlisted or officer, is the Honor Guard Manual, which can be found at www.honorguard.af.mil I hope this has been helpful, LT. A singled-handed arming sword or knightly sword, often incorrectly referred to as a "broadsword", generally weighed between 2 and 3 pounds, averaging around 2.5 pounds. A hand-and-a-half sword, also known as a bastard sword or longsword, was usually between 2.5 and 4 pounds with an average of approximately 3 pounds. How much is a Franklin mint excalibur sword worth Also a samurai and a sword of Charlemagne?
Hi i do not know its value but a friend of mine is interested in buying an Excalibur
It really depends on who the sword is made by, how old it is, and what kind of steel it is made from.
Stainless steel is often used in decorative swords, and these swords are usually quite cheap.
Carbon steel swords can be sharpened and can often withstand cutting. Carbon steel swords come at a price though, ranging usually from $100 and up. I'll attach a few links as examples.
I have an Excalibur sword by Franklin mint. It is a limited fired edition with crystal rock wall hanger and i paid several thousand dollars for it 15 years ago. So it is worth alot more now. I would be willing to part with it for the right price. Franklin Mint does not even make these swords anymore. paisleypilot@msn.com
I don't know why you paid several thousand dollars since the Franklin Mint and it's stores charged $750.00 which I still have the receipt. The sword is sold on Ebay from 350.00 to 500.00.

Like Njfunguy stated these swords didn't cost $2,000 dollars. They cost $750 and if you got the Wall display, then around $925 total. They are mighty pretty but not worth very much. In the sword "Blue Book" that gives prices for swords and how much they are worth depending on their condition, they aren't even listed because it's not a real "sword" so to speak. It's more like a decorative display. Looks great but not sharpened and wasn't make like other "real" swords.
I bought 2 of these when they were being sold by Franklin Mint in 1989. Around 1998 I took them to a company that did appraisals for items like this for insurance purposes and got the shock of my life when they both came back appraised around the $150-$200 dollar level. And these were in MINT condition that also came with the wall displays.
Of course you'll get what someone is willing to pay you but if you took it to someone who knew their real value you wouldn't get very much out of it.
As long as YOU like it then that's all that matters. Hang it on the wall and enjoy it. But don't think you'll get rich selling it. The VALUE just isn't there. Hope this helps.

The charge move. You run at your opponent as quickly as you can, catching them offguard. This is usually sucessfully done by swinging the sword around rapidly during the charge, in order to further confuse the opponent.
This charge move is very effective in fights, and I have killed many people using this technique.
It can be said that understanding itself is a triple edged sword. This is true because understanding has three elements or aspects, the subject, the object, and the knowledge about the object.

For those in the states you should avoid overseas online stores due to shipping costs. All of the quality sword manufacturers distribute to the US through their dealers. Find the brand you want and then find a quality dealer. I of course have my favorite, but cannot post it here. Regardless of who you choose, don't be afraid to haggle. If they won't haggle, then they aren't worth your time. The sole exception is a Legacy Arms/Generation 2 sword. This manufacturer does not allow any advertised discounting.
Here is a quick list of some of the better brands for good prices. Remember big $ doesn't mean quality. I would advise you to avoid any below the $150 range unless it fits into the following brands. Legacy Arms, CAS Hanwei, Valiant Armory, United Cutlery, Global Gear, Darksword, Cheness, Windlass and Dapeeka
