The weighing of the heart was when someone would go into the after life and there heart would be weighed on the scales of truth if the heart weighed more than the feather of truth the person was not allowed in to the afterlife and there heart was tossed away!! if the heart weighed more than the feather it meant that the person was bad and not worthy enough for the afterlife .True stuff!!!!!!!

Will there be roads in heaven?
"Going to heaven" was NOT part of Abraham's inheritance. The "Promised LAND" [EARTH] is. Therefore... the answer to the question is -- NO. There are, nor will there be, nor is there any need for roads in heaven. Roads are on the earth. And they shall all lead to the throne of Christ after the great earthquake that shall precede His return, levels all of earth's terrain, and all the people of the earth walk dryshod toward it.
"In that Day the Heir to David's throne [Jesus Christ] will be a Banner of Salvation to ALL THE WORLD. The nations will rally to Him, for the LAND where He lives [Jerusalem] will be a Glorious place... The LORD will make a dry path through the Red Sea. He will wave His hand over the Euphrates River, sending a mighty wind to divide it into seven streams that can be easily crossed. He will make A HIGHWAY from Assyria for the remnant there, just as He did for Israel long ago when they returned from Egypt." (Isa.11:10-16 NLT)
Roads are on the earth... the LAND that God promised Faithful Abraham and his Faithful Children, through Jesus Christ. The feet of the people of the remnant nations left on earth following the Great Tribulation will travel these roads to Jerusalem, where the newly returned King's throne will be.
Great question. The gravestones of the 18th and 19th centuries are world's away from the modern ones we see today. Some of the old tombstones told stories and/or poems about the deceased and how he/she met his/her demise. Gone from most cemeteries are the huge elaborate monuments, the winged angels that stood 15' in height, replaced by much smaller, marble slabs that are ground level. Modern format is the deceased's name, date of birth and death and their earthly relationship with others such as:Beloved mother, sister, daughter, ect. It is also common to see photos of the dead engraved onto the marble.

You are reincarnated if not why?
No you are not reincarnated though many hope that they will be. Some folk realise that they have made a mess of their lives and so want a second chance. Unfortunately this does not happen if you comeback as a butterfly or a dog. The Lord has provides sufficient guide lines through the scriptures to help us return to Him. We are given but one lifetime to prove ourselves worthy to recieve what blessings we have earned for ourselves. The Lord is a patience God, but even He has his limits. One life, one chance, that is all.
How does immortality of the soul affect the afterlife?
Immortality of the Soul liberates us from afterlife. If only we realize that we are the Divine immortal Soul. If we remain ignorant and we think we are the body, then we die and we are reborn based on our Karma, our actions. Even if we think we are the ME, the mind and the ego, not the body that returns to dust, we still have an afterlife. When we realize we are the immortal Soul, that realization liberates us from an afterlife. It makes us escape from that constant cycle of death and rebirth and that is our ultimate goal, to realize we are the Divine Soul. Only then, we become the immortal Soul that we truly are. As long as the wave doesn't realize that it is part of the ocean, it will keep on splashing and splashing. But the moment it realizes it is not a wave, it is the ocean, the splashing ends.

There are several well-known 'psychic sisters'. The most famous are probably the three Fox sisters, Leah, Margaret and Kate. They were mediums and played an important role in the founding of the modern Spiritualist movement and church in the 1800's. Spiritualism (or Spiritism) is the belief that our consciousness continues to exist after death and that the deceased can communicate with the living through a psychic medium, to deliver messages or revelations from the afterlife.
Today the most well-known 'psychic sisters' are most probably the twins Terry and Linda Jamison in the USA. They are most famous for their predictions of the 9/11 World Trade Center terrorist attacks, the Pentagon attacks, and the May 2000 stock market crash which were made on international radio on November 2,1999. There are currently also several other pairs of well-known psychic sisters, such as the identical twins Chinhee and Sunhee Park, Linda West and Jolene Paterson, Deborah Herman and Brenda Frazier, as well as Colleen and Mary who are based in Perth, Australia.
What was the afterlife like in Greek mythology?
They used to believe that they'd go underworld I know it was close the the river Styx and was believed to be run by the Greek god Hades one of the main gods. King of the Underworld.
You should know that there were different districts in the underworld:
Tartarus is a place of punishment for sinners. It resembles Hell and is the opposite of Elysium, the afterlife for the blessed.
Those who are no great sinners or blessed, stay in an indefinite area of Hades like shadows with no memories of life.
There were also underworld gods there ruled by the grim Hades, They where:
And of course Hades King of the underworld.
It was believed to be guarded by Cerberus A 3 headed dog owned by Hades.
Once in the underworld there was no taking out. Don't believe in that film Hercules. It is true that he went down to the Underworld but he didn't get anyone out!
Although no one has actually got anyone out Orpheus (or-fee-uss) was close to getting Eurydice (yoo-rid-ee-see) from the underworld
Orpheus and EurydiceEurydice stepped on a poisonous snake and was bitten in the foot. Hades, King of the underworld instantly sent death to collect her and by the time Orpheus, Eurydice's husband hared the news of his wife's death it was too late.Orpheus was upset. He was determined not to give up when he decided to go to the underworld and get his wife.
When he got there Persephone immediately wanted to help, Hades finally gave in and called for Eurydice. There she was a grey ghost of Eurydice. Hades agreed to her being taken back up to the earth surface on the condition that he never looks back. Orpheus agreed to this and was taken up with Hermes.
They started walking up to the earths surface, they where very close when Orpheus just couldn't help but glance back, just to make sure that she was behind. He broke the deal and Eurydice was sent back.
Orpheus was upset and begged for a second chance but he was not given one.
He started sharing the story of his adventure. Eventually he was killed by a group of Thracian women and was taken over the river Styx and reunited with Eurydice where he was to be happy forever.

What did the ancient Egyptians believe the afterlife would be like?
They Egyptians belive that if you lived a good life that you would go on to live another good life. But if you lives a bad life you wold be eaten by an evil good named Sekhmet and perished
----
The Ancient Egyptians believed that when one died, they would be put in a trial. Anubis would weight the heart of the deceased on a scale against a the Feather of Truth. If the heart was lighter than the feather, then that means you lived a good life and would go on through the underworld. If the deceased' heart was heavier than the feather, then they would be judged impure and evil, and be devoured by a little monster that was part hippo, crocodile and lion named Ammit. The Underworld was Not a place that one could distinguish as "Hell". It was a place where demons and devils resided, but it wasn't the average fiery depths of torture and hatred and blood, etc. that everyone thinks of when they hear "underworld". The deceased would carry the Book of the Dead through their journey through the afterlife.

What is a boat of the afterlife?
They had a name for it among the Egyptians, one should distinguish between aquatic Hearses and boats used for interments ( in dry tombs). I cannot recall the name. This bring us to the related custom of Burial at sea. In the movie Hawaii, the old Queen dies ( it is not specified how) and four Ladies in Waiting ( Boxing the Compass, I see) take her body to the Pacific and have her buried at sea. It was hinted two of the ladies in waiting jumped over the side to join their Queen ( there was something similar involving the cremation of Cleopatra in the Elizabeth Taylor version of that Royal Tragedy.) this could be historical license. The Hawaiian Queen may have been buried at sea, whether two of her Ladies jumped over the side is unknown! I can recall a comic book about Atlantis where terminally Ill people were fitted out in Gondola-like craft and abandoned ( my guess coupled with prayers) into the River Anostis ( No Return) this was evidentally between Italy and Sicily- the boats resembled gondolas but had a different name in the story. It was a really weird comic book. I still don"t know how it came out.

What was Socrates views of afterlife?
Socrates believed in the immortality of the soul and viewed the afterlife as a continuation of existence beyond physical death. He suggested that the soul undergoes a process of judgment and can attain a higher understanding of truth and wisdom. In dialogues like Plato's "Phaedo," Socrates expressed confidence that death should not be feared, as it offers an opportunity for the soul to engage in philosophical inquiry and discover greater truths. Ultimately, he saw the afterlife as a realm where the soul could achieve a more profound connection with knowledge and the divine.
