How do you remove write protection on xd picture card?

This is a common problem. I use HP Express and Olympics Master. With both of those programs, I just pressed continue for every picture, and then I got all the pictures with no problems! If you have 250 pictures with write-protect on them, you will have to press "continue" 250 times! But this is the only way I figured out to get the pictures without dumping them or the card. Other "experts" said this from Google and http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=99036&forum_id=22

What is the device for storage data other than pen drives?

There are many other forms of storage these days such as:

A Portable Hard Drive - this connects to your PC via a USB cable usually.

Pros - You can get a lot of data for a reasonable price, eg a TB would cost around $100

They last for a long time and are very reliable.

Cons - They are quite bulky and not as easy to carry around as a USB

SD/Micro SD Cards - These are very similar to USB's and are normally the preferred data storage unit for cameras and some mobile phones.

Pros - They can be very small and still hold a decent amount of memory, eg 8GB would usually cost around $10-$15

Cons - Not many computers have a built in reader, so you will also need a Card Reader to transfer data to your PC.

On line storage - There are a number of on line websites that allow you to store data, pricing can vary massively from site to site, but there are many sites out there offering around 2GB of free storage.

Pros - You can access the site from any computer with internet access.

Cons - There is usually a monthly fee, so over time this can get quite expensive.

Now either press Ctrl+V or right click in the USB Drive folder and select paste.

What is the depreciation rate for usb broadband modem?

I've never appreciated a USB Broadband Modem. It has always been my belief, my knowledge in fact - knowing the technology involved - that the Modem (actually a Multi Modem/Demod insert) should/could be inside the computer (laptop or PC) encasements; an isolated board inset.

The multi-modem is an actuality that is kept away from the consumer market. Can you see yourself walking into Best Buy, and there being but one unit, that is the multi-modem available for sale? It is possible.

But better, that the multi-modem be inside the computer. Do away with all the "recycle-stuff-disposal" involving the multitude of modems currently sold. One unit - inside - is all that is needed.

That way you would not be paying lease for a $140.00 VoiP/Internet modem for ten years after that modem depreciated to zero dollars value in five years.

Comcast, Verizon et al should be reimbursing subscribers million$ for excess beyond depreciation lease fees.

Can't get any attorney/lawyers to take that on; they'd lose their free cable services in their offices.

How do you make a usb flashdrive say 'oh yeah' when inserted and 'put it back' when removed on a mac?

It would be the computer that would generate the text - not the USB drive. You would need to write a piece of machine code program that detects when a device is plugged-in or removed from the USB socket.
