Where can I find a set of pictorial history of ww11 that had at least 3 volumes with black covers from veterans of foreign wars?

One possible place to find a set of pictorial history of World War II with black covers from veterans of foreign wars is to check online marketplaces such as eBay or Amazon. You can also try searching in local bookstores or libraries that specialize in military history or war-related books. Additionally, contacting veterans' organizations, such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), may provide leads or recommendations on where to find such a set.

What is American Veterans Aid?

American Veterans Aid (AVA) was founded by a war era veteran who wanted to help other veterans and their surviving spouses apply for and receive the Aid and Attendance Benefit. AVA is a privately owned for profit company and charges a reasonable fee for its service, called a Pre-Filing Consultation. The purpose of the Consultation is to determine the Claimant's eligibility and in many cases assist those who are ineligible to become eligible. The company has a 100% money back guarantee - if the claimant is denied his or her Benefit by the VA, any fee paid to AVA is fully refunded. The company has a VA accredited Claims Agent on staff to help the Claimants prepare and present their VA application forms to the VA and represent them before the VA Claims Board. There is no charge for this part of the service. The Claims Agent is only 1 of 99 in the country who can do this. For a claimant who is overqualified for VA Benefits due to having too much in assets, AVA will assist them with moving a portion of the assets into a protected account. With the money now in the protected account, AVA does not require the claimant to purchase any type of investment, such as annuities, certificates of deposit, bonds, or funeral trusts. The Claimant always has a choice of either paying AVA a reasonable fee for it's services or taking AVA's financial advice in repositioning a portion of the assets into safe, conservative, and secure investments. Thus, if the Claimant chooses to reposition their assets, the financial institutions who conduct these transactions will pay AVA a commission. AVA is proud of it's service to the many veterans and surviving souses across the nation. The company looks forward to many more years of helping those who served our nation receive the Benefits they deserve.

Do you get any benefits if u completed your first term in the military and was cour marshaled on 2nd enlistment?

depends on the outcome, most likely not since the outcome of a court Marshall is bad if it ended your career and would result in a discharge with less than honorable conditions, but if the discharge was general, you still have a chance.

What does the department of veterans do?

The DVA (department of veteran's affairs) oversees all veteran's benefits and enttitlements. They are in charge of the hospitals and clinics that vet utilize for medical treatment. They are in charge of paying veteran benefits. They are also in charge of rating the vets disabilities and how much is related to the service, granting ratings, unemployability and other items. They control and dictate what businesses can operate inside veterans hospital facilities. They control the amount of per diem (for mileage) a vet is entitled to when traveling to va facilities for service connected conditions and/or mandatory physicals. They are the authority that backs the VA home loan program which gives the bank a certain % of the VA loan in the event that the vet defaults. They also control various types of life insurance policies vets are entitled too. They control the canteens inside VA facilities, etc. The scope of their control and authority is too wide to list individually. The above are simply a sampling of their responsibilities. Can retired military collect Georgia unemployment insurance?

Only if you don't tell them about your retirement. I retired Jan 2010 and immediately went to work FT. After 7 months, I was laid off without notice. I applied for unemployment and stated honestly that I receive a military retirement. I am a man of integrity and had no desire to falsify information that could come back to haunt me or even be charged with a crime since it is illegal to falsify information when applying for unemployment.

I was told that I did not qualify for unemployment benefits becaus I receive a military retirement. In short, in the state of Georgia, retired veterans will never be eligible for unemployment benefits because our retirement is more than the benefit. What is being lost in all this is that the state requires every employer to pay into the unemployment system for their workers. This means that the state of Georgia gets to keep the money paid by my employer because I can never qualify for unemployment benefits. This is outrageous! I guess my 24 years of service wasn't enough, they now want my unemployment benefits as well. Just their way of saying "Thanks for your service".

If you receive military pension can you collect unemployment in Florida?

I think only the military member can collect his unemployment benefits. However, if you guys have consolidated incomes then it may be possible for you to do it. Another option, if you need some extra $$, would be to have your spouse apply for a super-low-rate military loan. Lots of companies, such as militaryloans.com, give out plenty of these so you shouldn't have a problem finding any.

Why are veterans left homeless?

For the same reason's other people are homeless. The rule is this: if a person has a specific personality before that individual went into the service...that person may still have that personality when the individual leaves the service; but that personality be expand or regress...based upon the life experiences of that particular individual.

Only a truly "shell-shocked" man, who was perfectly normal before he went in (to the service), may be mentally influenced after the war...to become homeless. And in such an event, the VA is there to help him. During the Vietnam "era" it WAS the Veteran's Administration Hospital's policy to NEVER turn down a veteran.

Veterans Day is celebrated on what date?

Veterans Day is celebrated in the month of November on the 11th day.

November 11, or what has come to be known as Veterans Day, was originally designated as a US legal holiday to honor Armistice Day - the end of World War I, which officially took place on November 11, 1918. In a Congressional bill passed in 1938, November 11 was "dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be hereafter celebrated and known as Armistice Day." As such, this new legal holiday honored World War I veterans. In 1954, the name was changed to Veterans Day, honoring all who served honorably in the armed forces.

It is observed as Armistice Day in New Zealand, France, Belgium, and Serbia, and as Remembrance Day (also Poppy Day) in countries of the British Commonwealth.
