Remove wheels

Re-install 2 lug nuts to hold the rotor in place

Remove caliper mounting bolts

Slide caliper off rotor

Use a "C" clamp to retract piston into caliper body

Replace inner and outer pads

Re-Install caliper

The 2013 Volvo S60's engine produces 250 hp @ 5500 rpm.

Two ways to find in on the right panel behind inside the trunk. If the car has been off (light remain on I assume) after about 20 min feel for the hottest relay that should be the one.

The electrical panel location on the Volvo S-80 (same year) shows it a relay #7 to from the right there will be a first row of relays on on the bottom, then a second row. Form the second row from bottom count up to the 5th up or from top of that row the second down.

Note: furthest right set will have 4 square relays, the second row from right will have 8 rectangle relays that is the row you want!

The valet key operates the ignition switch and the drivers door lock. It is cut so as to block any access to your glove compartment or the trunk. Made speciifically for giving to the valet parking attendants when your car is being parked by a valet service.

You need to purchase a Haynes Manual that is specific to your car. They can be bought at a parts store or bookstore.

You will need: Jack, jackstands, various wrenches or socket set, new brake pads, c-clamp

I usually do one side at a time.

Jack the car up safely. Put the car on jackstands.

Take the wheel off.

Loosen the two caliper bolts.

Pull the caliper off, and remove the old pads.

Make sure you DONT let the caliper hang by the brake cable set it up behind the knuckle or get something to support it with.

Use a large C-clamp to push the piston back in.

Install the new pads on the caliper.

Put the caliper back on, tighten the bolts down.

Replace the wheel.

Move on to the other side. Repeat procedure.

Check brakes before going anywhere!

Under the console in the middle of the two front seats there is a little hole on the back of the inside of the middle console. I cant figure out how to turn it on on the radio though.

I just changed the rear pads on my 1995 Subaru Legacy and it was really easy. I had someone there who had done it and he talked me through, but if you are not so lucky I would suggest that you get a book from the library or buy one if you think you may use it in the future for your car. It will take you about 1-2 hours and save you a load of money. You can use the jack that came with your car, but I would suggest that you get a jack stand for safety (basicly a stand that you place under your car in a "solid" location in case the jack slips; keeps the car from falling on the rotor and your body. A very good safety feature!) You will need to buy brake pads, new rotors or have the old one machined (not a big $ saver) and calipers if the old ones need to be replaced (you will know this by how the pads are worn. If they are evenly worn you calipers should be OK and if they are not even you should replace the calipers because they are not applying pressure evenly). I would also suggest going to a local (not a chain) auto parts store because they are usually more helpful and they will most likely accept returned parts that you bought and did not use. (i.e. the calipers if you did not need them) They will also be much more likely to give you good advice. I know this does not lead you through the brake process, but it may get you started and let you know that it is not that hard and it will save you a load of money, as shops charge an inflated "flat-rate" for brakes.

In a counter-clock-wise motion us a 19mm socket wrench to loosen. For more leverage use a Torque wrench.

The torque wrench would be used to install the lugs nuts to a specified torque setting.

For more leverage use a 1/2" drive breaker bar.

ok here whats you should do: put the car on the jack on one side and start by removing the tire. (Note: you losen the nuts before putting the jack up.) for covenience turn the steering so that the caliper, the thing that holds and applys the brakes, is pointing outwards. now heres a list of tools you may need: a rachet with 13,14,15 sockets, key wrenches of the same size, 13 14 15, a flat screwdriver, grease, and WD-40. looking the caliper you will see that's it is mounted with 2 bolts. now if those bolts are or appear to be rusted then apply WD-40 and let it soak. when looking at the caliper you will see a hole in the front-middle. through that hole you will see the caliper psitons that pushes on the brakes. use the flat screwdriver and try to push the piston back inside as much as possible. then proceed with losening the bolts. BECAREFUL!! DONT APPLY CONSTANT PRESSURE WITH THE RACHET OR THE KEY, HOLD IT SECURELY WITH ONE HAND AND GIVE BANGS WITH THE OTHER HAND. this technique will prevent the bolts from breaking. when the bolts are open just remove the caliper from the disk and put away so it does not bother when changing the pads. don't forget to note how the pads are placed on the disk. look at the new pads very carfully and see wether they are all the same or are in pairs of two. just keep that in mind. now put the new pads (after removing the old ones) and turn to the caliper and check if the piston is all the way in. if not then use somthing to push it in DONT USE ANYTHING THAT WOULD DAMAGE THE PISTON AND DONT PUSH THE PISTON FROM THE INSIDE. USE THE WALLS OF THE PISTON TO PUSH IT IN. when done with all this simply put the caliper back on and tighten the bolts not too much or too less. put the tire back and put the nuts on and lower the jack and tighten the nuts. then perform the same procedure on the other side and after the pads have been changed then press the brake pedal a few times until the brake feels though. this should take about an hour or so depending how fast you can do it and the condition of the brakes, bolts etc.

I think that Camry disk brakes were very similar from 1990 to at least 1996, and I answered the question on changing brake pads for my 1995 Camry, so maybe that will help.

You will need to go to a dealer or a repair facility that has the Volvo Vida diagnostic computer with the Dice interface. A average diagnostic tool cannot access the SRS codes.

I am assuming it is a petrol engine. I experianced the idle fluctuations / surge and cleaned the trottle body with carburetor cleaner or trottle body cleaner.

On the top of the intake manifold (front of engine) there is a +- 8mm rubber pipe (almost in the centre). Remove clamp and pipe when engine is at normal operating temperature and spray about 80ml into manifold via connector of the rubber pipe. Replace pipe and start. Staring would be difficult and smoke will appear from the exhaust. Drive vehicle and repeat cleaning procedure.

It means that one of the position "parking" lights is burned out. It is usually one of the four bulbs in the rear tail light assembly. NOTE: before replacing the bulb, give the bulb housing a light rap with your knuckle. Sometimes the bulb just becomes loose in its mount.
