Yes you can Adjust the torsion bar to raise it. I did this on my 1 ton Chevy to raise the front end. I had an alignment right after and it has worked great ever since.

I have an 86 with a 4.3 and it regularly gets 21 - 23 miles per gallon combined (city/hwy). I can't answer for the 5.0

as long as you can get the latches in the back of the hood to match up as well and the hood latch in the front you should be good.

The coil fits in the coil bracket, which is normally on the fan shroud.

Take the old coil off the car and set it down with the wiring pointed up. You will see two bolts coming out of the coil, one with a + and one with a -. The + bolt should have a metal piece with a place to hook three push-on connectors; the - bolt should have a metal piece you can hook two push-on connectors to.

So the drill is, move all the wiring that's on the + side from the old coil to the new one, move all the wiring from the - side of the old coil to the - side of the new one, move the center wire from old coil to new, put the coil bracket on the new coil, bolt the coil onto the fan shroud and you're done. It'll take ten minutes at most.

Set the parking brake, put the car in neutral and turn the key. Don't press the clutch pedal because that's hard on your main bearings.

Yes it has a choke, it's automatic so you don't need to do anything with it to start the engine.

In my beetle I run SAE30 oil in winter, SAE40 in summer. I change oild religiously at 3K minle intervals without fail. Aircooleds don't seem to like multi-viscosity oils. If it's below freezing out the SAE20W oil is called for.

check the connecter on the oil switch located on the left hand side of the engine just under the distibuter, then the connecter on the speedo if ok take out the bulb and test to see if ok.

30w is the manufacturers recommended.

The best oil I know of for these engines is Shell Rotella T--SAE 30 in the summer, SAE 15W40 for all-season use. Rotella is heavy-duty diesel oil and it only comes in those two weights.

The back-up light switch is located on the top of the transaxle,just forward of the shift levers. Hope your a good at this

there are 3 mounts.

2 in rear of transaxle

and 1 in the nose.

the rear 2, hold the engine up too.

you must remove the engine to change those two.

to get the single front mount off the tranny, you must pull engine then tranny.

It all depends on how the car runs. The timing, valves, carburetor or Fuel Injection, vacuum dist all have to be working right. You can get from 20 mpg to 30+mpg on a stock motor. If memory serves a 73 carb'd standard Beetle got 19 city 27 highway. Hot VWs is getting mid 30s mostly highway with a lot of mods. A lot of people report 30+ highway, but I would say a stocker in great shape would do good to approach 30 highway, dual ICTs can get you to 30+ highway. But a poorly tuned stock can have half it's original fuel economy. It all depends.

open your trunk (front of car) and unclip it from the speedo. the other end of the cable goes into the dust cap on the left front wheel. you will see the square nub sticking out of the dust cap unhook the clip and pull the cable out of the back of the wheel . reverse the removeal to install
