open your trunk (front of car) and unclip it from the speedo. the other end of the cable goes into the dust cap on the left front wheel. you will see the square nub sticking out of the dust cap unhook the clip and pull the cable out of the back of the wheel . reverse the removeal to install

The VW Beetle has 2 jack points, one on each side to the rear of the front door. The body/pan assembly is ridged enough that this single jack point will lift the entire side of the car.

If your car is tatty, or does not have a jack point installed, place a floor jack under the front bulkhead of the car, and raise the entire front end.

alright take off the basil, the chrome ring around the headlight it self. now there should be some screws holding the entire headlight assembly to ur fender, remove those screws. now your wires should be clipped into a plastic piece which is connected to the contacts on the back of your headlight, remove that plastic piece with the wires, now take your new headlight and re-connect the wires to the back, put the screws back in the headlight assembly where they came from and put the basil back on. Ta-Da you've just replaced your headlight. check the headlights to see if you did it right. now stand back with a beer and admire your work. lol

remove old window by first pulling out chrome strip if you have one, go inside and cut the old gasket in the middle with a sharp knife ( you will feel it hittng glass and metal frame then you know in right place) once gasket cut the widow till pop off from outside. but new gaskest on (new?) window, with center join melt joint a the bottom center. insert a good strong string into inner gasker groove ( I use tent rope, nice and strong) have threading start about 1/3rd in and go all the way around. crossing string over itself for at least 12 inches. spray inner groove and rope WELL with soapy water. lay window in place, with strings inside of car. As ANOTHER person gently yet firmly presses on out of window, start pulling one of the strings in the opposite direction so you are not pulling string though gasket but instead against the gasket forcing it to pull the gasket over ht cars window frame... ; this will pull the gasket over the window frame metal. about halfway through, switch over to other string, MAKE sure outside Helper is pressingagianst glass where you are pulling string. Top two corners the toughest, be sure lots of soapy water there.... once you have string pulled all the way arpung, window gasket should be set properly and window secure.

The engine serial number should have two letters followed by a 6 digit number located under the alternator/generator base. Please look closer and try again.

It depends on the year of the beetle. If I remember correctly 1999-2004 engines have the 1.8 Turbo. Those same years also have 2.0L Non turbo, and the 1.9L Turbo Diesel. I believe after 2005 they stop making the turbo beetle completely and give them a 2.5 L engine. The other models of the VW brand still come turbo, just not the Beetle.

There was probably dirt in the bottom of your tank that clogged the fuel filter when it ran dry. This is very common. Take out your fuel filter, drain any gas that might be left in the tank, replace the filter and refill the tank.

Get a manual; they are cheap and you will need it if you are that far into a build.

If you have a camshaft with a bolt-on gear, one or the other should have come with torque specs. Stock Type 1 cam gears are riveted to the camshaft.

Accelerator cable? No. Accelerator pedal set up? Yes.Looks like 2 bolts to remove the pedal clusterfrom the floorpan and then there is a bolt going through the pivot for the gas pedal.

Check to see if there is power going to the horn. Take the wire off the horn and have someone push the horn button and see if you have power at the wire. You may have to turn the ign key on. If you have power then make sure the connector is not corroded on the horn AND wire and you might untighten and wiggle the horn and then retighten the bolt that holds the horn on to make sure you have a good ground, if they checked ok then the horn is bad. They are not that expensive to replace. If there is no power then check the fuse. If the fuse isn't blown check to make sure the fuse holders aren't corroded. If every thing is fine then the problem may be in the horn button area or you have a broken wire. You'll have to get the Bentley manual for your year bug as they all differ slightly on different year bugs.

If you mean the Power Control Module, it is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment, along the upper edge of the firewall.

I believe most shops charge a flat hourly rate because it is a customization that will vary by car and customer. Most people do it themselves, but I wouldn't suggest it unless you have a thorough knowledge of your wiring in your car. You risk damaging important wires & components and/or cause it to catch on fire if not done properly. Both of those end results means you're at the shop paying a flat hourly rate to repair the damage plus the tow bill to get it there.

Call around to local car stereo installers, some detailing shops, or any shop that does custom work. Get a quote, but don't stop there. There are a lot of people that say they can do it, but have only a basic understanding, maybe slightly more than you. They charge you $30-$50 and promise it back to you in an hour. Be leery of those deals because the installations usually end up being broken clutter under your car or laying in the street somewhere within a month or two.

I just finished installing an underbody light kit on a Suzuki Hayabusa. To do it correctly, I had to partially disassemble the bike. I also had to uninstall what was left of the previous kit (installed the previous year by the owner), repair the damaged wiring, and then install the new light kit. When I finished 8 hours later, everything looked like it came from the factory. Total bill, I gave him a deal at $400. The customer supplied the lights and saved a ton on the short term ($35 online). Normally this customization is in the $500-$600 range and the lights will last much longer.

Well aside from skimming it off which simply involves using a ladle placed slowly down into the soup until just the grease pours slowly down over the lip of the ladle, you can use paper towels or bread (although that's not economical). The best way is to go to a cookin or grocery store like Safeway or Raleys/Knobb Hill Foods and buy a grease separating measuring cup. Then just spoon the grease in and pour the soup out!

On most models, remove the screw that holds the rear seat bracket to the rear fender. Then slide the seat back so the front mounting bracket slides out of the frame. On many softtail models, there is a bolt on each side of the seat that attaches the driver seat to the frame. These must be removed before the seat can be slid back and off the motorcycle.
