How do you find a missing hull identification number for a jet ski?
look at your documentation that came with it when you first purchased it/or ck your registration pappers
How do boats with holes in their hulls for the propellar keep out water?
The propeller is at the end of a shaft. The shaft passes through a fitting called a stuffing box. The stuffing box contains a material like cotton or waxed twine that wraps around the shaft. There are two or more bolts that hold the stuffing box together and by tightening or loosening the bolts you can squeeze or release the stuffing material to the shaft. Ideally you tighten the bolts to the point that water just drips in.
This allows the shaft to spin freely. It is lubricated by the water. If you tighten the box too much then you can score the shaft.
The water that drips in is usually pumped out by a bilge pump.
Can you park an inboard ski boat on the beach?
Yes. Just be aware of how deep the water is. Pick a spot. Pull up slow. Put into neautral. If your in drive and the water level is low your prop could grab sending you right or left and possibly damaging your drive shaft or prop.
What kind of boat hull can hold the most weight?
A big one with lots of freeboard and either inboard engines or an outboard platform like the offshore center-console fishing boats have.
How they calculate the safe capacity of a boat is simple: they put the boat in the water and add weight until water comes in to determine the displacement weight. Then they divide by five to reach the safe weight capacity. Therefore it stands to reason that the farther you can push the boat into the water before it sinks, the more safe weight it can carry.
What model number is your boat hull id BJYA76CYF889?
This is a Bayliner, built in 1989, most likely a smaller bow rider/runabout.
To bond to old fiberglass boat hulls--say to install a tunnel--what is the best way to bond?
make a template for the desired shape and width of the tunnel, draw it out on a heavy type brown paper of very thin luan. just remember you can draw half of the shape then flip it as to insure everything is the same on both side of the center line of the boat. make sure you make a mark on the forward and aft of the template dead center. to find centerline of the boat measure from chine to chine make the marks and line up the template of your tunnel. then using 4 in high speed grinder and a cuttting wheel cut it out, dont worry about stringers and such at this point. main thing is to see what you have to work with when the glass is cut. ie where you will need to cut the floor to have access to your inside laminations and new stringer work. there are alot of steps involved after that but nothing very hard to do!
Where are hull identification numbers located on boat?
All boats manufactured or imported on or after November 1, 1972 must bear a HIN. The HIN is a 12 character serial number that uniquely identifies your boat. The HIN has an important safety purpose. It enables manufacturers to clearly identify for boat owners the boats that are involved in a defect notification and recall campaign. A HIN is not the same as a State registration number, which may be required to be displayed on the bow of your boat. The HIN is a Federal requirement; your boat's registration number is a State requirement similar to the license plate on your car. The HIN, however, is required to be shown on the State certificate of registration.
The boat manufacturer must display two identical hull identification numbers, no less than one-fourth of an inch high, on each boat hull. The primary HIN must be permanently affixed (so that it can be seen from outside the boat) to the starboard side of the transom within two inches of the top of the transom, gunwale, or hull/deck joint, whichever is lowest. On boats without transoms or on boats on which it would be impractical to the transom, the HIN must be affixed to the starboard outboard side of the hull, aft within one foot of the stern and within two inches of the top of hull side, gunwale, or hull/deck joint, whichever is lowest. The starboard outboard side of the hull aft is the preferred HIN location for many manufacturers. On catamarans and pontoon boats the HIN must be affixed on the aft crossbeam within one foot of the starboard hull attachment. The second is usually hidden inside somewhere.
The Jet Ski was invented by Mr John George Ian Erier Cruikshank my old tutor.
date unsure but I do have the precastings for the propulsion unit that Kawasaki did not see a need for at that time.
The semi helical thruster (Cruiky's) major invention has amazing propulsion power.
The Jet ski was originaly intended as a vehicle to house the propulsion unit.
The conception of the semi helical thruster, and the jet ski were from
Erier Lab Mordialoc Melbourne Australia.
Kawasaki later replaced the prop on the jet ski , but not with his truster.
He was always troubled about this, as by his calculations his truster was Superior in energy transfer than the jet unit and more fuel efficent.
The pricipals behind Cruiky's breakthrough in propultion systems was unlocked by another Lab some 5 years later ,and where it is used to propell container ships reduces their fuel usage by somewhere in the area of 30% .
Cruiky originaly came to Australia as the British Nuclear Industry advisor to Australia

Should the SS Normandie be rebuilt?
YES! Without question. I think that the cruise ship industry would do well to rebuild the greats as close to original as possible, with modern additions. I think they would be very popular. Including the SS United States, which could be refurbished for the same cost as a new ship, it would be worth it to build these ships again for cruising, as well as transatlantic voyages. Whomever created such a cruise liner company would do extraordinarily well.
When wired correctly, the smaller trim buttons are designed to operate through the trim cycle only. The larger tilt / trailer button is used to tilt the outdrive up, for clearance when trailering the boat.
How do barnacles damage boats?
A barnacle is an ocean animal. A barnacle is not picky in what they eat. The barnacle will literally eat anything in the ocean that is near them.
What do white water spots on an aluminum hull on a boat mean indicate?
White water spots on an aluminum hull typically indicate oxidation, which occurs when the aluminum reacts with moisture and air. This oxidation can lead to corrosion if not addressed. Additionally, these spots may be a sign of mineral deposits from hard water or saltwater exposure. Regular cleaning and maintenance can help prevent and mitigate this issue.
