No, it doesn't conflict at all with Windows XP SP2's firewall. It actually takes the place of it. It's actually integrated into the Windows Security Center. I have been using Comodo Firewall Pro for over a year and I haven't had one problem with it whatsoever. It's earned the highest rating in default configuration and is even better than Norton and McAfee Firewalls. Best of all, it's FREE!! You can't beat that!!

When you install Comodo Firewall Pro, it will automatically disable the Windows XP SP2 Firewall.

You do not, the version above A05 is written by Dell, not Phoenix. Once installed, the Dell version rewrites the BIOS with a different format and from that point on you are stuck with Dell's version of the BIOS. Unless you buy another motherboard with an older version of the Phoenix BIOS, you have to live with what you have. Unless you can remove the BIOS Chip, you currently have and solder an old Phoenix BIOS chip in its place.

You can certainly install both and use both, seperatly or at the same time because they fulfil different requirements - Outlook Express is an email client whilst Firefox is a web browser.

You may however run into some compatibility issues if you are trying to get the 2 to work cohesively but these difficulties can likely be bypassed/avoided by altering various settings. If you have any problems take a look at both programs user forums to find a workaround.

If I were you though, before trying this method, I'd read up on all the MS DOS commands that he is employing, so that you know exactly what is being done.

Yes. By booting from the Live CD and selecting "Install alongside another operating system", Ubuntu will automatically create a new partition if there is a sufficient empty space in the HDD. The red line is usually closer to the power connector. However, older hard drives did not follow this convention. There might not even be a specification for this. To be sure, look closely at the hard drive for a distinguishing mark on one end of the connector, such as a "1" or triangle indicating which end the red line should be.

it depends what your error is. I do know of one common one that gives people headaches very often and involves fonts. If it is something like "Cannot open due to read-only embedded fonts", then you are probably out of luck. In fact, some people who make profesional presentations use this trick so you can't edit the presentation, only open it. I have this problem myself. if you want to get rid of the messenger lock you can go to the top of the msn page and press the Plus! button then click on preferences and options. Click on the second tab messenger and on the left side it says "messenger lock",click on that and deactivate it by undoing the active messenger lock. Press apply and then ok.
