How can you make a story real sad that can make you cry?
I'm not sure why your wondering this but that's not really my business...
I write stories a lot myself and my sad ones always seem to make people cry. Even people who never cry.
Anways how I do it is first you have to decide what's going to happen. When I figure it out I usually listen to a sad song while I write it. (Of course if you get distracted, don't.) Then I imagine it's happening to me and I just describe the situation very well.
Discribing is my strongest point in writing. But keep on trying!
My tips: Use lots of detail and build characters with well discription. The sad part of the story is usually right before the end.
When righting the sad part, put lots of feeling into it. Think about things that make you sad, then start writing with those sad things in yor head. How you feel afects how you write.
And always add a uplifting note at the end of a story. Don't say 'Then they died. The end'. Add something to the end to lift your sad spirts, even if it is a one sentance message. Ending happy makes your story stronger and more profesional.
Is is legal to use real people in fiction?
You can; many fictional works are set in the "real" world or in variations of the real world - for example, in a novel about current America, Obama might be mentioned. However, there are legal implications about writing about living people so authors, and more particularly publishers, have to be cautious about such things.

Simple, the character(s) that is/are chosen will always influence the plot because of how they deal with certain/react to certain situations, there are many other reasons but those are for the writer to decide.
The character personality influences the plot as well, what other characters think of them, how they change etc.
What are good names for a magical school?
Schools - even magical ones - are named for several things: famous people (Merlin High School), local landmarks (Mountainview Elementary School) or town names (Spooky Valley Middle School). If you're going to write stories, you need to learn how to come up with your own names instead of copying what someone else comes up with!
What is an author's purpose in having a character not fit in or be at odds with a story's setting?
You usually have a character who doesn't fit in when you want to show something from an outside viewpoint, to spotlight something that everybody else thinks is totally normal.
How do you relate to a main character?
You relate to a character usually by a feeling that the main character has on a topic or an event that the main character goes through.
The usual "Yes, that is exactly how I feel!" feeling means you can relate to the character.
That is how authors form their characters. Authors try to make their characters able to relate to you. That way you can be more drawn into the story, go deeper with the characters, etc.
For example, the well known character Percy Jackson from the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians is very easy to relate to, which is one of the main reasons why the series is a best selling series.
The author formed him into the everyday kid, so every kid could relate to something about Percy.
Percy Jackson feels left out, his parents are separated, he has ADHD, he is dyslexic, he does not know if he will ever be known or loved by someone, he does not think he looks good enough, etc.
Every kid/ teen has these feelings and can relate to Percy's situation, so they read on to figure out how Percy Jackson handles these trials.
But like the answer says at the top, you can usually relate to a character by a similar feeling, hope, event, or wish.
How can a good novel transcend time and place?
A good novel, like a good story of any sort, can transcend time and place -- in other words, it is so good that it doesn't matter what the setting is. Stories like A Christmas Carol, The Lord of the Rings, Pride and Prejudice, or Moby Dick are great reads even if they are clearly in a time long ago and some of the ideas in them are out-moded now.
Does a plot summary need to include the solution?

What symbols might an author use in a story about a character that is always in motion?
To show a character in motion, you just need to show them moving all the time. Have them pacing back and forth, or moving from one room to another while they talk on the phone, or always having to be somewhere when they run into someone they know.
You don't need a specific symbol, but if you wanted to make one up, you could. Perhaps a scurrying mouse or a busy bee.
What is a good mysterious Killers name for a book MALE'S NAME?

What is a good subject to write a book on?
A good subject is something that you know well or that you have an idea about. That helps your motivation in continuing to write. You can usually find a good topic among the things that interest you. That way writing doesn't have to be a chore as much as a joy. Writing an entire book is a lot of hard work, and so anything that you can do to stay motivated will help. Many authors use streets and areas that they know from their own lives in order to make stories more realistic. Some authors have specific ideas, like a new technology or a different way of doing things that they base their stories on.
Any idea that is interesting enough to you will be a good idea. You cannot write a story or novel based on ideas that someone else invents - you won't be interested enough in the subject to be able to research and write anything that will actually sell. Plus, anonymous people on the internet have no idea how old you are, what your interests are, or how well you can write!
In order to write, you need a personal connection to the subject. Write about whatever you enjoy, or whatever you find interesting, and you will end up with your novel or story.
WikiAnswers is happy to help you learn how to write better. We will not do your writing for you by giving you ideas and paragraphs to copy.
Here are some more suggestions from WikiAnswers contributors:
• Write about what you know. A good idea for a first novel is to write your own personal story. Everyone has at least one novel in them waiting to be written.
• Observe the world around you. Anything interesting can be an idea for a story or novel.
• Research. The more you know, the more ideas you will have.
• Read stories and books that other authors have written in your chosen genre. This way, you can see how other people do things.
A story can be either plot driven, character driven, or both. Most are stories are both but one or the other usually takes precedence. Charles Dickens' novels are primarily character driven Ian Flemings' are plot driven (although all the plots are the same.) If you need a place to start - trying thinking up interesting characters who can be developed and evolved against an interesting plot, or think up a good crisis that characters can be illuminated through.

How is professional writing different from other kinds of writing?
Professional just means that someone has mastered the craft. All writing is basically the same. Amateur writers tend to make grammatical mistakes, ramble instead of getting to the point, write confusingly instead of clearly, and fail to understand what's selling on the current market. Professional writers can produce a clear, concise and correct manuscript without as much effort as it takes an amateur to produce the same thing.
Why are settings important in Films?
Because a picture is worth a thousand words. You can see in an instant what is near impossible to convey grammatically. You can do so very much with setting in a film that it would be a violent waste not to exploit the extra bits of use your back-ground could be put to. In fact, background/setting has been so very much used in film that it would be an immediate and shocking distractions to have a grey blank for a background in a film.
In the movie to build a fire why does the cold seem to make no impression on the man?
He does not know the signifiance of the cold
How is the short story the least restricted in subject matter than other fiction forms?
I'm not sure that it is... but if it is, it is because it is easier to treat smaller subjects in a short story. You don't have to develop the ideas as much, and you can cope with smaller topics. You could do this in a novel as well, but it is harder, and could take more development.
