I am fairly sure you cannot activate "Defense Draw" after an opponent's Ancient Gear monster inflicts Battle Damage in order to reduce the damage to 0 and draw a card. Here's why:
First of all, this scenario is referring to an effect most Ancient Gear monsters possess: If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate any Spell or Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step.
In case you did not know, the Damage Step is the part of the Battle Step that consists of (1) the point right before damage is calculated between two monsters, (2) damage being dealt to a monster, (3) dealing any damage to the player's Life Points (LPs), and (4) if any monsters are destroyed, they are sent to the Graveyard.
"Defense Draw" must activate during that third portion of the Damage Step when you are going to lose LPs. Since this is still during the Damage Step and if you are being attacked by an Ancient Gear monster with the above effect, you cannot activate "Defense Draw".
Does the trigger effect of Geartown activate if another field spell is activated in Yu-Gi-Oh?
Sometimes. It is an Optional Trigger so it can miss the timing.
When an opponent activates a Field Spell card, your Field Spell Card is destroyed when the opponent's resolves. Your opponent's field spell card will resolve to the field, your Geartown will be destroyed, since the destruction was the last thing to happen, Geartown will Trigger.
When you activate a new Field Spell Card over your own, your original one is destroyed when the new one activates. Geartown will go to the graveyard, then your new one will resolve to the field. Geartown misses the timing.
If however you Set a new Field Spell Card, this doesn't use the chain. Geartown will be destroyed as above, and will also Trigger.

Ekibyo Drakmord can only return to hand when it destroys the monster it equips. In this case it will simply go to the graveyard and can't return, it went there as its equip target became an invalid one.

Handcuffs Dragon returns to the field in two ways.

So if it is not Equipped, it cannot special summon itself, only come back as an S/T card if destroyed in battle. If it's acting as an Equip card, it can only special summon itself, it can't re-equip itself to something immediately.

It doesn't matter who 'owns' the monster, all that matters is the current controller. If I steal your monster, and attack your other weaker monster with it, it's you who takes the damage because 'your' monster is 'mine' at the moment, no different to my other monsters. If you attack the stolen monster with a stronger one, the same applies, I control the weaker monster, so I take the damage.
Can normal monsters attack straight away?
If you are starting off the duel then no you cannot attack till the next turn that's why I would usually just set up a backfield the first turn, then go in and summon monsters the second turn. Just get a Official Rulebook that will answer your question.
