Probably nothing. Some people, usually women, use the term Dear with anybody. I've had waitresses and store clerks use it. It is just the way they were raised. Southern United States it is very common. That and Honey. I think both are a little personal, but it's no big deal. It is just them being friendly instead of using Sir, Ma'am, or Miss. Also, they may have forgot your name and that covers them.

To set the story straight, I am in an on/off realtionship with a boy named 'Kevin', I don't want to make the relationship formal/offical cause I am 18 and don't want to be tied down to young. It can be difficult to make friends anywhere. This is just because people get comfortable with their current friends and don't really branch out looking to add more people to their circle. Making friends becomes even more difficult when you are an adult, since you don't go to school and tend to be very busy with household responsibilities, therefore your opportunities to meet new people are limited.
