Homelessness

These are people who, generally through no fault of their own, become without shelter, or an address to be able to get employment or subsistence. Some resort to crime or drugs. Most are looking for a chance at life, again.

Can a school deny enrollment due to being homeless?

Yes, surprisingly enough. If the child's family doesn't pay property taxes to the school, they can deny enrollment. Same as if you were living within the city limits of a school district and tried to enroll in another school district. Also, informing a school district that a child is homeless gives the district the right and obligation to report the situation to Children and Youth Services.

Do homeless people spread contagious flus?

All people can spread the flu since it usually is an easily transmitted virus, one exception to this is the Avian "Bird" Flu which is rare and doesn't transmit easily from person to person.

Many homeless people do have a challenge with hygiene, since they don't have their own bathrooms and sinks, so if they are unable to wash their hands often enough, they can spread it to more people. Those who are lucky enough to find a shelter do not have this same problem.

Some homeless people are mentally challenged, have severe depression, are in poor health because of their circumstances or are in their circumstances due to poor health, and/or are addicts or alcoholics which can make them less aware of or less concerned with sanitation and proper hygiene. But this is not true of many unfortunate people who have lost their jobs and end up without a home, which is happening all too often in the economy of the US today.

However, there are people with homes who are just as careless about hygiene, are substance abusers, and mentally challenged, too. It is doubtful the spread by homeless people is much, if any, greater than by everyone else and especially if you consider that many are reclusive or choose to avoid other people and crowds, so they are in less contact to get and give communicable diseases.

Should Christians get medical help?

It depends on who your calling a christian exactly... Because there are a lot of people in the word who call themselves christian, but they are doing the opposite of what that word means. Being a christian is being Christ like, being a child of God and making yourself separated from this world. For those people who say they're "christians," yes, they do need medical help.

What does each of us is just one paycheck away from homelessness mean?

It means just what it says, I always say it this way, "But for the grace of God there go I...

Losing your job and not being able to make it finacially could happen to any of us and if you don`t have family to go to, then you (might) be living on the streets. Though most of us have some one whether it be a friend or church member. I think their are some, that choose this life style, they just don`t want the responsibility. But I am greatful everyday for being able to live in a home, not a mansion, mind you, but it`s warm and dry. I have food to eat, a soft bed to sleep in. I can`t imagine how scary that would be. But for me who`s son has cancer, it would be terrified. I thank God everyday that I am able to pay my bills.

In this economy, none of us really know what might happen in the next moment, be it as I say the economy or some disaster. Sort of off subject there but terrorists do exist and we might all end up with no where to go, or in hiding, or even communial. But if you really think about it, the early church had everything in common.

This sort of thing would never happen for some religions, i.e. The Mormons, The Amish, The Quakers...please anyone who are of these religions, don`t take offence. Rather be glad that you have that kind of support.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Why is there homelessness in wealthy countries?

In wealthy countries, such as the US or UK, there is an uneven distribution of wealth. There are classes: the upper class, middle class, and lower class. The lower class includes people with the lowest income and the homeless. These people do not have enough money as they are either unemployed or have a poor paying job. They either cannot keep or find a job, or do not recieve enough money to keep a house or pay bills. Unfortunately, there is also the portion of homeless people who are addicts (either to alcohol or drugs) and use the majority of their money paying for alcohol or drugs, in which case they cannot afford a house or keep a job.

What is the main theme of homeless bird?

The main theme of this story is probably Death. See, a lot of things happened to Koly because of someone dying. She wouldn't have gotten married to Hari in the first place, were it not for the need of his family to get money for the holy trip. If I were to put it into a phrase I would say something along the lines of, "Death is not the end of living."

You could look at it many different ways. You could also say something along the lines of, "Knowing how to stick up for yourself in the right places, and where to back down." Because she let herself be pushed around by her Sass (mother in law) and get blackmailed into not telling on her by Mara. Then when she speaks to Raji about reading she should have used a better approach.

These are just 2 ways of looking at it.

How do you say homelessness in spanish?

Other people define it as "sin hogar" or "sin techo".
But in Spanish sounds awkward to say "los sin hogar" or "los sin techo". These are just too literal.
A more robust translation is "desamparados" o "gente desamparada".
Depending on context you can always say "gente que vive en la calle" or "people who live in the streets"
