I guess racism could be caused by peer pressure, in some cases. But most people are racist because of how they grow up. Like, if you live in a family who is totally against racism then you are more likely to be against it too. But if your family is racist then that's how you grow up and thats what you learn.

Racism is the expressed belief that race matters in decisions outside the home and family. Openly expressing that blacks race made them subhuman eased many white American moral concerns about enslaving them.

Slavery of every race has been lawful almost everywhere in the past. Millions of whites were enslaved, and millions of whites are today the descendants of slaves.

There is a continuum in almost everything. Very few things are completely one thing or another.

I lived in Lampasas for 16 years. I'm not racist. My mother and sister live in Lampasas. They're not racist. I have many friends in Lampasas. They're not racist. Clearly you havn't met enough people from Lampasas.

That's being stereotypical of either your own personal experiences or that of someone you know. It's very offensive that you think that everyone is like that, when they are not.

Yes, there are some groups that are. Usually the unintelligent and fear mongers that just want to cause trouble. All races should be able to get along with each other if most of us would give them half a chance and learn each other's cultures. My husband and I have many friends who are all different races and when we have a party everyone gets along just nicely so it can be possible. Some people are. In Canada and the US, I think the proud ones are white. I think all the racists in Canada and the US are white, because whites are the majority there.

To the above poster it may simply depend on where you live. I live on the outskirts of Vancouver, B.C., and trust me when I say whites are the MINORITY here! There are more Asians and East Indians living in Vancouver and suburbs outside of Vancouver. Look at the news or look it up on the net.

Racism involves solely race, appearance regardless of culture or economic class.

A racist acts against a person of Race X with no notice of that victim's income or nationality.
