Does not answering questions on the SAT helpful or beneficial?
Some say that it's a toss-up on whether or not to leave answers blank if you don't know them; I'm going to go a step further and say it is *absolutely* NOT better to leave an answer blank and here's why:
The SAT counts off 1/4 of a percent for a wrong answer. So, let's say you have four questions you are unsure of...if you guess at all four of them, the simple law of probability is that you're going to get at least one right. This means that the *one* you get right will cancel out the three you get wrong. Now imagine if you guess correctly on two of them...? See what I mean??
Furthermore, the standard on the SAT is 5 answer choices to each of the multiple choice questions. If you can reasonably deduct at least one answer (and usually it's really easy to at least minus out two of the possible answers), then you are 100% better off by taking a guess.
What is the required SAT score to get into Chico state?
There is no set standard SAT score for the California State University system, but generally speaking, each campus is usually around 1000--that is using the old SAT scoring method. I believe Chico State was around 1040 as a medium (as of 2004-2005). I'm an alumni from 2006. Personally, I knew many people who went there with well above 1200's, though, which is considered UC medium; but the school is trying to change direction and allow more "disadvantaged" students in, so, naturally, this is going to decrease the medium and average SAT score. When I was a freshman, our class was 91% Caucasian, when I graduated 4 years later the incoming freshman class was 49% Caucasian.

Yes, you can use a calculator. In fact, it is recommended. You can also use calculator programs while taking the math section of the SAT reasoning test. You can also use the software to solve problems in your high school math class. You can raise your score by as much as 60 points (and often more) just by using the software.
How do you change a booty call to a date?
Don't answer the initial phone call, let him/her leave a message. Usually booty calls are done late at night, right before they want to meet. So, don't answer calls after 11:00PM.
Return the call the day after, around 5PM-6PM. Ask what was the purpose of the late call and let him/her say whatever is on his/her mind. Is a 1540 out of 2400 on the SAT good enough?
The new test is out of 2400 points, 1500 is about average. "Is it a good score?" This is the wrong question to be asking. Instead, look at the average scores reported by the schools you plan on applying to. Does your score fall into those ranges? A good score will enable you to attend the school you want to attend. Remember, if your score is lower than a school's reported averages it is important to compensate for that low score in other areas of your application like GPA and your personal statement. Why is it important to read the directions on a test carefully?
Reading the directions on a test is important because if you do not read them, you will not know what you are to do on the test. For example, on a multiple choice test, if you do not read the directions, you won't know if you are to choose the best answer or all answers that apply. On a short answer test, the directions will state if there are limitations on the length of your answer, if something specific needs to be included, etc. Without reading the directions, you won't know exactly what is expected, and it could be the difference in the grade on the test reflecting what you know or, in some cases, failing the test.

On any multiple choice test if you follow a few simple steps you have a better chance of finishing with a good score. 1. First answer the questions you are sure of. 2. If you positivly do NOT know an answer, choose either the "longest answer" or "C". You'll have a better chance of getting it right. This is by no means foolproof or guarenteed. The BEST way to answer any test is to study and be prepared.

Quantitative, if you're counting the numbers of males and females for any survey or question. It is qualitive if you are using it in the context "Jim is a male." That doesn't tell you how many. Instead it tells you what.

You can't figure it. It's a score given by the organization administering the SAT and is computed by how well you did on the test. You can contact the organization that administered the test to obtain the score results, though they're typically mailed to you.

I hated science too when I was made to study it. First, if you can mark in your book(a lot of places can't) highlight each main sentence in the paragraphs of the chapter. You don't even have to read the whole paragraph, just highlight for now. Once you have done this, read those sentences. This will give you an outline for what you need to know. THEN read the book. I found that doing this will give my mind a color code to tie my thoughts to when it comes to test time. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT STUFF. Often a project will really make science kewl. Like making a model of an atom. It's kinda like making a for real moving picture. Plus, when you make it, you can see how it works. THEN the book will make sense. Finally, understand this. You might not be into science now, but you'll find out that what you hate now might be so kewl that you make it your career. Even today, I know that some things will work and some won't because they made me study science.
