Snakes

Green is a positive color for a Muslim, signifying Paradise and submission to God's will. But a snake is generally a negative symbol for a Muslim, representing an enemy or adversary. It is interesting that a snake turns into a chameleon, because a chameleon is a lizard that changes color to match its environment. Your description seems to suggest that it might be the green snake that changes color. (This can be true even if in the dream there were two separate snakes, because the second one can represent a change in the first one.) In that case, the symbolism might be that there is someone who appears to be a friend, who appears to be a sincere and pious person, but actually he or she (the snake can represent a female) is changing color, trying to fit in by imitating others, but actually misrepresenting himself. In English the expression to "turn colors' means to betray one's friends. This person could be someone you know and the dream may have occurred because subconsciously or intuitively you are aware that this person is insincere, even before your conscious mind knows anything definite.

Another possibility is that you yourself may not be 100% sincere in some aspect. You would need to examine yourself inwardly, be honest, and ask yourself whether this could be true about you. If it could, then be thankful because the dream is offering a wake-up call and guidance so that you can repent and return to your true colors. You are not a bad person, but you may have been led astray by trying to please other people while forgetting to please God first and foremost. If this is so, it might be because you wanted the approval and friendship of those you admire and so you tried to make yourself appear similar to them, before you were fully deserving of being regarded as being at their level.

My remarks about the meaning of the dream for a Muslim are based on Ibn Seerin's Dictionary of Dreams. Normally I am not in favor of dream dictionaries, but in this case it is important to take into account the Muslim culture and values.

This depends on the circumstances:

If you like to catch and handle snakes: the Black Mambawins, as it's venom is most potent. This snake is also aggressive, but as with most snakes, it's first reaction is to get away. When it tries to escape, and is confronted, this is when it starts to defend itself. The Black Mamba is very rare to see, and has a very lethal neurotoxic venom (destroys nervous system).

For most tourists, the Puffadder poses most threat, as they strive on surviving by camouflaging and ambush, therefore you do not necessarily see them until they have struck at you (take care when going to a bush toilet). Golden rule is: if you cannot see the ground in the terrain in which you are walking (as in very thick grass) then don't walk there. Puffadders have a REALLY nasty cytotoxic venom (destroys muscle tissue) and is an EXTREMELY painful bite.

Cobras also have a very nasty and potentially lethal venom, and some spitting species can cause blindness, either partial or whole if venom is spat in eyes, these often surprise tourists (although we hardly have any cases at all of tourists being spat on) when walking up to the big sociable weaver nests, as cobras often hang around these nests for food and shelter.

There are plenty more snakes, most are not venomous, and with most the worst that can happen is an infected wound due to dirty teeth.
