Many people believe that substance abuse comes from "gateway drugs" and peer pressure. However, substance abuse has been proven to be attributed to character traits that some people have, as well as genetics, and the environment that people come from. People who are easily convinced by others, type B personalities, and other traits make people more susceptible to substance abuse, especially in combination with parents who are frequent substance abusers, especially in the presence of their children, and also the environment that people come from. People are molded by the environment they come from, and by what their parents show them as acceptable behavior.

Are you referring to getting it out of your system so you can pass a urine toxicology test? In which care there usually isn't much to worry about. Buprenorphine can only be detected with a specialized test for Bupe, it doesn't show as a typical opiate.

How are replacement drugs used in the treatment of drug abusers?
The problem with opiates is that, due to the artificial scarcity created by prohibition, they are artificially expensive. Since the average person cannot long support a habit by working, they end up turning to crime.
For an addict, all opiates are interchangeable. That is, any opiate will do the job of making you "well." In other words, if you are addicted to oxycodone, heroin will do just as well.
So, replacement drugs are simply a different opiate - methadone or buprenorphine - which have the benefit of being longer-acting than recreational opiates, (one dose every twenty-four hours rather than four doses per day). They also have the benefit, at least from the moralist's perspective, of not getting you high. This is because the shorter-acting an opiate is, the more euphoria it provides.
Since these replacement opiates are obtained legally, they are much less expensive, (although still over-priced), than those obtained on the black market. Since opiates do not harm the body, and since opiates do not impair the user, being able to obtain them legally allows the user to "get their life back." That is, they can hold down a normal job.
There are no "replacement drugs" for non-opiates. I think it's worthwhile to make a distinction here, because the word "addictive" gets thrown around pretty loosely these days.
Opiates are addictive. If you take them long enough - everyday for a month - when you stop, you will become very ill.
Other drugs are compulsive. If you used cocaine or speed everyday for a year, then stopped, you would not become ill.
It is possible that certain other drugs, such as barbiturates and benzodiazepines are addictive in the same sense as opiates, but I am not too clear on that. Again, no clear distinction is made these days, and anything people do to excess is called an addiction.
Can suboxone give a false positive on a drug test?
No it will not. On your standard urine text the buprenorphine nor the naloxone witch make up the suboxone will not.register for any of the drugs they test for. If it is a test they are sending out to a lab it will show up but they usually have to be looking for it .. it will not show up as a opiate tho

Marijuana is a non-addictive substance. That means that unlike addictive things like niccotine, marijuana does not cause withdrawal if a person stops using it.
Another perspective merged from Discussion Comments
Marijuana has a different effect on everyone, some people who take marijuana feel nothing when they come off it, but others have reported, mood swings, extreme panic attacks, anxiety, aches and pains and lots of other symptoms, marijuana can be addictive, I experienced these symptoms and also being emotionally withdrawn, people can get addicted to anything, we live in a world where everyone is addicted to technology, anyone who's says marijuana is not addictive, must never have experienced an addiction.

How long does it take to become addicted to suboxone?
You would need to start taking suboxone at the first signs of withdrawal I have been on sub for over a year. I love it. Just as most posts state...sub will give you a "ceiling high." You will be high while you're taking the sub, no matter how much of a tolerance you will build. But really, there really is no "tolerance". You can google sub clinics in your area. Call and set up an appointment. It's really easy. They can usually get ya an appointment in about a week. Insurance usually covers all costs, but if you do not have insurance...it's not that expensive. I mean, it's gonna be cheaper than buying opiates everyday. I have snorted sub, it's usually been when I'm running low on count though. I recommend sub to anyone and everyone who has an opiate addiction. Suboxone is a lifesaver I dunno what I would've done without it.I finally have my life together. I have all me debts paid, a house, a great job, and a wonderful family who fully supports me. It's not easy waking up in the mornings withdrawing and wondering "...how am I gonna get something today?" It sucks. Just think...you can get sub legally and it makes you feel energetic. You WILL NOT experience ANY withdrawals whatsoever once you start the medication. If you can't succeed with sub, you really just do not want to quit.
Get your life back on track. You're better than being an addict.
Do remember: If you're pregnant, you will need to ask for subutex.
you Get addicted by doing that thing that is really fun or you just cant stay away from what your addicted to.
How old do you have to be to go to rehab?
Some are licensed to take juveniles, and some are not. It also depends on the rehab's policies. Some have their own age restrictions, even for juveniles.
We would not think it appropriate for kids under the age of 14. They might do better with family counseling centered on their drug use and the surrounding problems (and so might the family).
