Is anyone looking for adoptees from Terceira Island Portugal around 1961 or 1962?
I know an adoptee that is looking for her father. Her father was in the USAF at Lajes Field and left before her birth in March of 1963. Her mother was a local woman and gave her up for adoption. All she knows is her father's nickname was "Tex" If you have any info you can email me at mizarlee@bellsouth.net. Thanks
How do you adopt a Native American Indian baby?
Look up ICWA.
Answer:
Many first nations groups see it as wrong for non-aboriginal people to adopt first nations children as they will be diviorced from their traditions and culture. This results from a rather sordid history of white families adopting native children to integrate them into white North Amaerican society. The first step would therefor be - Be a native person wanting to adopt a native child.
Before any child can be adopted the biological parents must relinquish parental rights pursuant to the laws of the state in which they reside. Once the court accepts the petition and terminates the biological parents rights, the person's wishing to adopt the minor child can begin the adoption procedures.
Does anyone actually care about baseball?
I do.
Sometime I care too less, or too much, but never the required amount :)
When writing your will do you include children born to you that were put up for adoption?
yes you do A will can contain whatever the person wishes, it is not necessary to include adopted or biological children or even a spouse unless one chooses to do so. The only thing necessary is that the will is legal under the laws of the state in which the person resides, which generally means being signed dated and witnessed by at least two persons. The best option is to have any legal document signed in the presence of a notary and recorded accordingly.

Is there a correlation between adopted persons and narcissism?
How do you petition for adoption?
You would want to check with your local court house to be sure of the rules and requirements for adopting in your specific state.
Yes you can move to Arkansas with her consent. Since you are a minor and moves to another state your birth mom should have temporary custody so she can make medical decisions etc for you just in case something happens,

What is it called when a parent is intentionally abusing a child for attention?
Munchousen's syndrome by proxy.
I have heard of priest adopting children, however, they have to obtain special permission from the pope. This is because their hearts are not supposed to belong to anyone except God, this is also why they cant marry.
my husband and his brother were addopted by a priest he had to go to suprem court to get it done and they only need the permision of the bishop to adopt .
Will you be able to adopt a child if your husband has a misdemeanor on his record?
Yes, as long as the misdemeanor conviction is not in conjuction with issues concerning children.
What exactly do you mean by 'rights'? If you mean the right for him to see your son, that is at your discression. There is no rule that says you have to take your son to see his father in prison. You may need to pursue legal rulings to designate what type of visitation dad will have upon release. Make sure this is clearly stated, that dad knows about it BEFORE he leaves prison (if he has a bad temper, far before he leaves prison), and make sure his parole officer know about the situation.
Well my step father adopted me. Because mother and step father kept track of when my real father seen me, my real fathers background, what he provided, receipts from what they provided, and in 2 years....if no contact has been made after attempting it may be able to be rulled child abandoment. That's how i got adopted.
Thanks Mackey for the added info. Marcy Sounds like your husband is a fair amount older than this 16 year old and he could well have charges of Statutory Rape laid against him. I am disgusted with the fact he would dump this poor young girl (you aren't dealing with an adult here) and he feels he can just run off on his merry little way and perhaps back to you? First off, kick your husband to the curb and you get on with your life. The way he is handling this situation with this 16 year old is telling you a lot about his personality. He's spineless! You only know about it because he's in trouble and big trouble! Yes, he can give up parental rights, but he should be paying child support and you should be encouraging this. He got himself into this mess, and more importantly there is an innocent baby on the way that didn't ask to be brought into this mess. A man SHOULD face his mistakes and pay that child support. Personally, if he doesn't take some responsibility I hope he goes to jail! Marcy * Termination of his parental rights is the least of his worries. Statutory rape, sexual battery and other such felony charges may be possible depending upon the AOC in the state where the incident occurred. In addition to those noted there are still many other offenses both criminal and civil that can be brought against him. He can also have a civil suit brought against him by the minor's parents. All states reserve the right to charge and prosecute any adult involved in any relationship with a minor. The cooperation of the minor, the minor's parents or legal guardian are not needed for the adult to be brought to trial for such offenses as; corruption of the morals of a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, exposing a minor to pornography, alcohol, drugs; aiding the minor in committing truancy, and on and on and on. It has been my experience in these type of cases that prosecutors are not hesitant about bringing them to trial, and judges take great pleasure in handing down the maximum sentences if the adult is convicted.
How long before you meet the parents?
I met his mom 4 days after meeting him. It wasn't a big deal, really informal. We had to stop by her house to pick something up. She knew exactly who I was, it felt good to know he had been talking about me. My family lives 500 miles away, it will have been 4 months when he meets dad. He met my uncle and aunt after a month, he came over for a nice lunch. I think if it feels right, ya know? Then a month or so is fine, if it is short and very informal. The longer the amount of time you date, the more formal the meeting becomes. He will be meeting my dad at Thanksgiving dinner(my aunt invites strangers off the street to come, we are a very family family at holidays.) I don't know how it will be when he meets my mother. AlsO** the closer someone is to their family, the sooner they should be introducing them to their significant other, if that makes sense.
If the father doesnt agree to the step father adopting my child can i take it to court?
A step-father will not be able to adopt a child unless the father signs away his rights. You can take it to court and win the case.
Child Adoption centers in India for quick adoption?
In metros and large cities, it takes years to complete adoption procedure. For eg. in West Bengal it takes 2 to 3 years to adopt a child. However there are centers in rural areas where due to lack of awareness about these centers babies are available for adoption. One such centre is in Suri from where adoption can be done in 4 to 5 months. The address is ----Suri Centre for Child Welfare, Birbhum, Sova Bazar, Rabindra Pally,P.O. Suri, Dist. Birbhum, West Bengal Ph: 9432144658. In case you also know of such centres, please post it. It will help both, the prospective parents and the child.
Without knowing what state the adoption took place in, it's hard to give you an in-depth answer. Each state has different laws regarding adoption.
I'd suggest you visit this page:
http://www.AdopteeRights.net
On the left hand side of the page, click on the link that reads 'SEARCHERS'
That will give you a listing of the state laws, as well as search and support resources in each state.
Good luck!
Could a biological mother regain custody before her child is officially adopted?
Yes, this is possible if the child hasn't been adopted. or the mother could destroy everything the child has known and regain custody after they are adopted. This would be a very wrong act and it is not recommended.
