How do you reset belt light on Kawasaki Prairie 700?
Prairie 700 belt light indicator reset procedure requires the 1st safety step of inspecting the belt's integrity by removing the CVT cover. There is an ON/OFF safety switch that must be turned ON if it has been tripped. If tripped to OFF position, this is the cause of quad running rough and at maximum speed around 5 MPH. This is a safety mode to reduce the possibility of the belt jamming inside the CVT cover if it's severely worn or simply too loose and requiring replacement.
If the belt appears in good shape, without cracks, tears, or missing teeth, you should also measure the width of belt for wear and measure it's tension for it's give. Width of 1.13" or more is good, belt tension should not give much more than 3/4 of an inch with about 10 lbs. of pressure. If the belt meets this inspection, your belt should be OK and resetting the belt light indicator can be performed.
Re-attach the CVT cover after the inspection.
Reset procedure: Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
You will need to find and disconnect 3 sets of cables located above the CVT cover that are tucked under the body of the Quad just under the air filter. One two-wire cable that runs from the CVT cover. And two - 4 wire connectors - one black and one gray. Once disconnected. Once disconnected, re-attach the gray male to the black female.
Turn the ignition ON. The belt light will blink rapidly then it will slow down to 1 second intervals. Let it blink a minimum of 7 times (7 seconds) and then turn the ignition OFF.
Re-connect all the cables. Black to black, gray to gray and the 2-wire connector.
Turn the ignition ON, the belt light should be OFF.
This procedure solves the blinking belt light indicator reset procedure and when the CVT belt safety switch is tripped.
If the indicator remains ON, the Quad requires a professional service check of the belt, clutch and safety system.
Limited top speed of 100mph 0-60 7.3 secs. That's fast for that kind of truck. There are many of the weak 4 cylinders taking up to 11 secs to do 60. A 2005 mustang V6 does 0-60 in 7 seconds flat. Go to the dealer and test drive one.
How many people have died from not wearing a helmet on an ATV?
36 people have died by not wearing helmets The statistics are not broken down that way. In order to get that number the reporting doctor would have to make the conclusion that the death would absolutely have been prevented by the helmet. That is easy to do if the only injury was a crushed skull but the set of injuries is seldom so clear-cut. If the person died with a skull fracture and a crushed rib cage, how do you know which injury killed the person? ...could the skull fracture have healed if he had not suffocated from the collapsed lungs? The best you'll find will be statistics saying how many were not wearing helmets when they were killed. That leads a person to conclude that the helmet would have saved the life of every person in every case. Statistics also bias the argument against riding without a helmet by not including those (small numbers, for sure) who didn't die because the helmet that they weren't wearing didn't obstruct vision or hearing and allowed them to avoid the wreck in the first place; those who drove more carefully because they weren't wearing helmets and so, didn't have a wreck; those who got into a wreck and didn't suffer a fatal neck injury because the extra 3 to 4 pounds of helmet did not add to the head's momentum...Arguments using statistic usually miss the "but nothing bad happened" numbers. That said, only an idiot would get on a quad without padding, helmet and eye protection.

How do you align four-wheeler?
take approximately 15 feet of nylon or strong string and tie it to the center hitch on the back of the 4 wheeler. next run the string completely around the outside of the 4 wheeler approximately half way up on the side of all 4 tires and pull it tight and tie it off where you started. make sure that you are not getting interferrance from the lugs on the tires (may have to move it up or down). the string should be tight against the sidewalls on both back tires. now go to each front tire and adjust the tie rod ends so that there is equal distance from the string to the sidewall of the tire on each front tire. this method will get you very very close to perfect alignment and is quick to perform.

What is a governor on a four-wheeler?
Child size ATVs generally have governors so that the parent can control the maximum speed a child can reach on the four wheeler. This may be done by adjusting the tension on the throttle so that speed is limited. Another feature some kid's quads have is a tether that a parent can hold while walking behind the machine. If the tether breaks free from the quad, the motor will cease to operate and will stop the machine.
These are the most common forms of ATV governors.
