What should you check first if an ATV backfires and will not start?

There are two possible things that it could be... it is more than likely your gas... if it has set up for any length of time, it is possible that you have bad gas... just drain your tank and put fresh gas in there.. the other is your spark plugs.. you should just go ahead and take them out and clean them really good, with a little bit of sand paper and put them back in and it should be running like new after that... be sure to drain your carb before you put the good gas in your atv.. good luck

Do you need a four wheeler title in Tennessee?

Yes you need a title in order to be able to ride on state or government land. If there is no title get the vin # and check with your local law office and see if it has been reported stolen or anything. if it is clear then you could just get a bill of sale but you still would not be able to ride on public land. Hope this helps.

Bought a ATV with no tiltleHow do you get a title for ATV if it is lost?

It depends on your state, I know in KY you can't get a title for it but you don't need one anyway, just make sure you have a bill of sale from the seller to prove you bought the quad.

Please post your state.. I live in New Jersey and you can get a tittle actually called a certificate of ownership in NJ - for an ATV that doesnt have papers provided it doesnt have a lien on it . Banks put liens on ATV when you borrow money to buy them . Once you finish paying it off they send you a lien release letter. It is an involved process to get a title and all said in done it can cost you $200 to $250. I am going through it now. I got a great deal on the bike so its worth it to me.. but i will never buy an ATV again without papers.. its just too risky (scarey) and it takes way to long to get a title 2 to 3 months in my state.

Beware if the original owner screwed the bank and didnt pay them well your out of luck and will never get a title or be able to register the ATV not unless you settle the debt owned, that's if they are even willing to do that.. I have heard nightmarish stories of people buying an ATV no papers and finding out theres a lien on it and then having to go to court to sue the guy they bought it from for there money back..

I forgot one thing you may even get the bike repossed if the bank can find it or the authorities get there hands on it... although it is unlikely it can happen

How fast can four wheelers be go by cc?

It is more of a matter of what type of ATV/motor it has.. A yzf450r for example can run past a 700 grizzly. No magazine/manufacturer ever tested/compared/listed the #'s. Sport 450+ quads/700 raptors are in the mid 70'smph range. 125's will do 45mph, 300'S are in the 50-60mph range. Worked 2 strokes are still the fastest, road a worked Banshee on the street past a police speed registering sign, clocked 85mph. A worked Suzuki Quadzilla or a bored/worked Banshee is the over 100+mph.
