rick nelson's rendition of dream lover appears in two forms. one is more sparse and stripped down. the other contains the same vocal by rick and appears to have had additional guitar work added later. this version appears on rick's Memphis sessions album. the sparse treatment appears on his legacy box set. does anyone know the history of rick's recording of this tune. thanks.

I have tested over 20 bittorrent programs and they all run at about the same speeds when properly set up.

I would rate Vuze and uTorrent as the two best. They both have all the basic features that are needed, excellent support and are leaders in the bittorrent field.

Vuze is larger and uses a good amount of RAM. It has many more features available in the program and through its plugins. The latest being its "Devices" tab, which will convert (if necessary) and transfer to other devices such as iPod, XBox, Ps3 etc.. There is also the Vuze download platform , which offers legal downloads and an outlet for independent media producers.

uTorrent is the smallest bittorrent client (263KB) and uses the least amount of RAM of any bittorrent client. Yet it has all the basic features needed for torrenting. Their latest advance is the introduction of uTP transfers, which make throttling by ISPs difficult, if not impossible.

Both uTorrent and Vuze have excellent support through their FAQs, forums, guides (uTorrent) and Wiki (Vuze).

You cannot remove vocals completely with Wavepad. No program can.

You can reduce the volume of the vocals with the Effects -> Special Effects -> Reduce Vocals function, but this will alter the other instruments so that resulting audio will be in mono, and sound like it is underwater.

If this is the only speaker you are using, use the Main Mix outputs. The stereo tape outputs will not be controlled by the Main Mix fader/knob. If you are using main speakers plus an additional monitor, use an auxiliary send on the mixer to allow the creation of an independent monitor mix.

You can do any number of things, from cutting around the sound you want inside your audio editing software, then using equalisation to try and remove frequencies not related to your sound.

Another possibility would be if the sound is panned center in a stereo recording, you can use a tool like Adobe Audition or other audio app or plugin to extract the center channel information from the stereo signal. This is often used to pull voice samples from say a movie, for use in a music track.

You will need to use your own digital voice recorder and then import the audio into the computer to put into iMovie.
