What religion did Benjamin Franklin practice?

Franklin was raised Calvinist, but briefly visited and contributed to a Presbytarian Church (a friend of his was the minister, and he endorsed the "civilizing" impact of religion). In his early 20s, Franklin briefly adopted a stark version of Deism, in no part due to his reading of popular magazines of the day. Later, and for the rest of his life, he frequently celebrated the "Providence" of a Creator God, and worked from a liturgy and belief statement he wrote for himself. The best description of Franklin's beliefs may be that he was a "theological perspectivist," i.e. he believed that those religions which best served to comfort, encourage, and enlighten humanity were those which came the closest to ideal, but that, because of the infinite mystery of the Divine, none was literally true. See Kerry Walter's "Benjamin Franklin and his Gods" for more info.

Did Jefferson or Franklin have any illegitimate children?

It is said that each had at least one.

Franklin is said to have an illegitimate son named William whom he and his wife eventually raised together along with their joint children.

Recent genetic testing of the descendants of Sally Hemmings, a slave in the Jefferson household, indicate that the Hemmings descendants are related to Jefferson. Rumors that Jefferson had sexual relations with his slave had existed prior to his death, so many historians and experts take the genetic tests as proof that Jefferson and Hemmings did have joint children. This can't be proven at this point to an absolute certainty as the test only proved the descendants were descended from a member of the Jefferson family, not specifically Thomas Jefferson, but given the past rumors it seems likely that he too fathered at least one of Sally Hemmings' children.

Did Benjamin Franklin speak with a British accent?

Franklin's father's family lived in Ecton, Northamptonshire, England (East Midlands) for over 300 years. Though his mother was born in Massachusetts, her parents were also from England. Considering the fact that his father taught him to read, it is likely that Franklin spoke with an English accent established by this initial phonological awareness.

His accent was likely elevated 'above' the Midlands dialect by his exposure to the world, but probably flattened a bit by virtue of having been born in 'the colonies'. And yes, Virginia- everyone has an accent of one kind or another. Really. DrMarkus

The Benjamin 310 series (310, 312, 317) were made between 1940-1969. My best guess it was made sometime during the 1950's

they did not start putting on serial numbers until around 1957 so that should help narrow it down

What was the Pennsylvania Gazette?

The Pennsylvania Gazette was one of the United States' most prominent newspapers from 1728, before the time period of the American Revolution, until 1815. It was first published by Samuel Keimer and was the second newspaper to be published in Pennsylvania under the name The Universal Instructor in all Arts and Sciences: and Pennsylvania Gazette, alluding to Keimer's intention to print out a page of Ephraim Chambers' Cyclopaedia, or Universal Dictionary of Arts and Sciences in each copy. On October 2, 1729, Benjamin Franklin and Hugh Meredith bought the paper and shortened its name, as well as dropping Keimer's grandiose plan to print out the Cyclopaedia. Franklin not only printed the paper but also often contributed pieces to the paper under aliases. His newspaper soon became the most successful in the colonies.
