i went to the doctor to get my shot for depo provera, i had been on it for more than a year and they gave me birth control pills right away. I decided i wanted to be on the pill because of weight gain and they started me on it without waiting for my period. i have been on the pill now for 8 months and i still have not gotten my period

The spotting sounds like break through bleeding. You should never stop your period from arriving by taking birth control without consulting your gyn or doctor beforehand. See your DR about your spotting.

As long as you take it at relatively the same time every night, it should still be effective. Just don't fluctuate more than a couple hours.

Your body is trying to adjust from being off the shot. Taking the pill won't stop you from getting your period or make it stop when you are on it. Believe me, if there was something created to stop a period in the middle...I would have found it.
