Who invented the fragmentation grenade?
Leonardo Da Vinci Invented It In 1508... He created it to help the Assassin Alliance Against the Borgia Influence...
Pilotless flying bombs nicknamed Doodlebugs. Guided Missiles used by the Germans to attack London in 1944. Their effect was devastating, but they were interceptable, flipping the stub wing would throw off the gyro aiming device. The subsequent V2 went much, much higher & was not detectable in flight. Hitler thought these 'Miracle Weapons' would win the war.
What weapons did the union soldiers use?
Why was the hydrogen bomb built?
The hydrogen bomb was built because it is more powerful then the atomic bomb. The atomic bomb was the type used on Japan and as bad as those were, hydrogen bombs are even more powerful. Nuclear weapons are very controversial. Most countries want them but they don't want anyone else to have them. The US claims the reason they developed such powerful weapons is a deterrent. The idea is no one will dare attack you if you have such weapons. The atomic bombs used on Japan were very controversial even in the US. Some congress men didn't think it was right to use them on civilians. The reason they did was President Truman and others thought it was the lesser of two evils. They believed the Japanese would fight on for a long time which would kill many more people in the long run then the bombs would. No one knows if that would have been true or not but the bombs did end the war very fast. Japan had little choice but to surrender immediately. Now days that there are several countries with nuclear weapons we have what is called MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction). Both sides are afraid of war because both sides would be destroyed no one would really win. This was the state between the USSR and the US. It may actually have prevented war all these years, because everyone is afraid of the consequences. Hopefully no crazy dictator will get his hands on one and deiced to use it.
A Hydrogen bomb is nearly 1000 times stronger than an atom bomb, the reason for this is the methods in which they are made. Atomic bombs are made from the process of nuclear fission, in which two atoms crash into each other releasing a chain reaction of exploding atoms, hence the supernova, and shockwave. For a hydrogen bomb the process used is nuclear fusion, in which two atoms are fused. In this case, two hydrogen atoms are used. These two hydrogen atoms form a helium atom while releasing an enormous amount of energy. Leading to my point that a hydrogen bomb can destroy everything in a radius of about 40 miles.
What is the standard color coding on explosives?
I know of no widespread standard color coding for explosives. I work with some products that are in white packaging, some yellow, some orange. It is pretty much a manufacturer's choice. The actual explosive material can be any color, from pink to grey to black. US military ordnance has standard colors, such as OD Green with a yellow stripe for High Explosive, but that is not used world wide.
What is the significance of gunpowder?
Gnpowder was the first substance capable of the fast release of chemical energy in a small, portable package. This meant that people no longer were limited to the strength of a man or an animal to apply force. That force might be to propel a cannonball to knock down a wall, or to break rocks in a mine or for a mountain road.
Gunpowder changed the way people fought in the war. Instead of human powered weapons such as bows, or kinetic energy weapons such as catapults, gunpowder provided relatively compact weapons for battle at a distance. Eventually it made contemporary forms of armor ineffective, as well as severely reducing the defensive capabilities of stone-walled castles.
How do you make plastic explosives?
A typical explosive consists of some explosive material, some sort of detonation device and, typically, some sort of housing. The explosive material undergoes a rapid chemical reaction, either a combustion or decomposition reaction, when triggered by heat or shock energy from the detonator.
In the chemical reaction, compounds break down to form various gases. The reactants (the original chemical compounds) have a lot of energy stored up as chemical bonds between different atoms. When the compound molecules break apart, the products(the resulting gases) may use some of this energy to form new bonds, but not all of it. Most of the "leftover" energy takes the form of extreme heat.
The concentrated gases are under very high pressure, so they expand rapidly. The heat speeds up the individual gas particles, boosting the pressure even higher. In a high explosive, the gas pressure is strong enough to destroy structures and injure and kill people. If the gas expands faster than the speed of sound, it generates a powerful shock wave. The pressure can also push pieces of solid material outward at great speed, causing them to hit people or structures with a lot of force.
Smoke Bomb
The first thing that you are going to need in order to make a smoke bomb is permission from neighbors (if you live in a city) and permission from your family members (If you are a kid).
The second thing that you are going to need is either ping pong balls or potassium chlorate(salt-peter(you can usually find this at any Safeway or other prescription drug store. You will also need tin foil, glue, and string.
Now that you have your ingredient's all you have to do is take one cup of salt-peter and mix it with four cut up ping pong balls. After this is done place the mixture into center of the tin foil and wrap it up like a flattened box.
The next part is how to make a fuse. Take your string and layer it with glue, then role it onto a plate that has salt-peter on it. After you have completed layering the string with the salt-peter then let it sit to dry.
After your fuse is dry tape mach heads to the bottom of the fuse and put it into the package of the salt-peter/ping pong ball mix. After the fuse has been inserted into the package then make a small hole on the top of your package to make a small plume of smoke erupt, or a large hole to let a large cloud of smoke.
Go out side and lite the package, you will have about minuet of heavy smoke coming from the bomb.
NO offense. but this is dumbest thing ive ever heard. you mix potassium nitrate(salt-peter) with sugar in a ratio of 3:2 saltpeter:sugar. you melt it on a low heat in a pan. you do this until the sugar and saltpeter are melted together. it will turn a brown color. once you are done put it on a sheet of tinfoil and wrap it up in the tinfoil if you have a fuse stick the fuse into the mix while it is still hot, because it will become as hard as a rock when it cools. also dont use to high of a heat on the pan or it will ignite in your home.
Flash Bomb
The flash bomb is a fun and extremely shocking treat for friends.
You will need to make a trip to you local hobby shop and ask for model rocket engine's, (they are usual cheep about 5$ for 5)
After you have purchased the rocket engine's you must take off the cardboard protector and remove the black filling. (the white stuff is only a protector, you don't need it)
Now you have the engine, take a hammer and crush it into a powder then pour it onto a strip of tape (for fire bomb) and fold it together. When you throw it into a fire it will create a extremely bright flash of light that will shock people.
Ninja Flash Bomb
This is an easy ninja tool that will explode on impact.
All you need for this bomb is a ping pong ball, a rocket engine, toy cap gun caps, and matches.
Crush up your rocket engine, extract the white filling from the cap gun caps, and cut the ping pong ball in half. Now that you have done this take glue and glue the match strips onto the inside of the ping pong ball. Fill the Ping pong ball with match heads and the powder. Glue the ping pong ball back together.
When you throw this bomb on the ground it will explode on impact therefore creating a fantastic ninja flash bomb.
D. B. Cooper (boarded the plane as Dan Cooper, but a media misconception labeled him as "D.B. Cooper, which stuck) was a man who hijacked a Boeing 727 aircraft in the United States on November 24, 1971 claiming to have a bomb on board.
After receiving USD$200,000 in ransom he jumped out somewhere over the Cascade mountains in Washington. It is believed he did not survive the jump, but his whereabouts have never been proven. The hijacking remains as the only unsolved United States airline hijacking in history.
Answer Kamikazi which translates to "Divine Wind". When the Chinese invaded Japan in 15th Century or so, a freak gale blew away the Chinese ships and saved their islands from capture. During WW2, they Japanese were hoping for a divine intervention to save them.
Those were the Kamikadze pilots, some history of that mission era is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamikaze
Kamikaze missions. Where Japanese pilots flew into targets with planes loaded with explosives and excess fuel.
Look up "kamikaze" and find out about it there

Whats the difference between an atomic bomb and a regular bomb?
In a non-atomic or chemical bomb, the energy providing the explosion comes from the breaking of chemical bonds and the joining of others. An example would be ANFO, Ammonium Nitrate / Fuel Oil, probably one of the most used chemical explosives today. During the explosion the nitrate reacts with the fuel oil to produce Nitrogen, CO2 and water along with heat and pressure.
In an atomic bomb the explosive energy is provided by the breaking of unstable elements, such as Uranium 235 which has a natural tendency to break down by the emission of neutrons, this is known as fission. If a large enough amount of the pure fissionable material is in contact, then it can reach critical mass as the neutrons released from one atom's decay cause two more atoms to decay, this proceeds exponentially. During fission a small amount of the mass becomes energy and using Einstein's equation, E=MC2 where E is the energy released, M is the mass converted and C squared is the speed of light squared, even a small amount of mass will release a large amount of energy.
The second type of atomic bomb is a fission bomb. In this bomb 2 atoms of Hydrogen are forced together to make an atom of Helium. This is the same atomic process that powers the sun. The fission reaction is started by a fusion bomb providing the high heat and pressure to cause the atoms to unite. Again when the two atoms unite a small amount of mass is exchanged for energy.
Depends on the bomb. Anywhere from a few dollars to a few million dollars.
What was the tactic used by Japanese pilots who crashed their planes into allied ships?
Kamikaze, or "divine wind", referencing two sudden storms that saved Japan from being invaded by Chinese armadas of Ghengis Khan.
Japanese pilots who crashed their planes where called Kamikaze.
a bomb is an explosive that has a special timing until it blows up itself
a bomb is an explosive war equipment that makes major noise and FIRE
During World War 1 were any explosives or inflammables stored in glass containers?
OF COURSE. Flame Jars used to throw into trenches....
Why don't military helicopters drop bombs?
The simplest reason is weight. Bombs are heavy and weight and balance is more critical on a helicopter than fixed wing aircraft.
Mi 24 Hind ..is capable of delivering bombs, and they were delivering them during the Russian - Afghan war. Either 4x 500lbs or 2x1000lbs bombs were used as a payload, and Fuel-air version of the 1000lbs bomb. the trouble with helicopter bombing is that the helicopter needs to fly high above the target, and it is slow. Thus, the helicopter exposes itself to any AAA that is present in the area. Because of it, helicopter bombing is practical only in situations where enemy Air defense is totally absent.
Are there bombs for head lice for your home?
Hell no. The chemicals in spray pesticide are too strong for human use and not healthy.
What city did the US drop the atom bomb in japan?
"Little Boy", a code name for the bomb dropped on Hiroshima, was detonated on the morning of August 6th, 1945.
The second bomb, codenamed "Fat Man", was detonated in the city of Nagasaki on August 9th, 1945, three days later.
