Is there a signal flasher in a 1999 Buick LeSabre and if so where is the location of it?
yes.under left side of dash
Why does left tuen signal not flash on a 1994 Buick lesabre?
Could be a burnt out bulb or a bad flasher unit.
Where do you hook the memory wire to?
just run it back to the fuse box and put it on the ignition fuse
How do you change rotors on a 1979 Buick La Sabre?
Should be the "peel off" type Remove wheel Remove 2 caliper mounting bolts Slide caliper off rotor Slide rotor off hub
Heater does not get hot on 2004 lesabre?
it could be thermostat stuck open ,low antifreeze, also could be ambiance temperature sensor,or the actual temperature controls on your heat and cool panel in the car.I have also seen a cadi that the heater core would clog up from deposits and would not heat but it did not bother the cars cooling as far as radiator, just would blow cold air .also check all your fuses.
How can you open your 1986 Buick LeSabre trunk without a key?
try taking out the back seat. that is how i got into my 84 buick lesabra to unlock it
Does the unit go to defrost whenever the enginee is started and ran for a few minutes??
The AC controller is a enclosed box.. should be on firewall someplace..it has multiple vaccum lines hooked to it from various valves/swicthes that actuate doors that direct the air flow. Will also have a fairsize electrical plug. These puppies are expensize... around $600 at a dealer. I'd go looking for a junk yard. Check physical cdition of both yours and the junker because...
My problem was that the nipples for the vac connections were crumbling and had blocked the system. No one could tell me why plastic should do that, including a GM zone guy...
So if I could get a "cheapie" junk unit, I'd replace it and see what happens..
Good luck
Mystery Black Box the culprit - vacuum distribution manifold? My wife's 1994 Park Avenue Ultra had both the defrost-only and the warm-on-one side problems. The former turned out not to be the actuator, nor the control unit. There are two vacuum operated actuators, the one you can see that's attached to the vent-box where the heater air comes out, which has two vacuum lines, an orange and a white, attached to it, and the one you can' see that's up above all that tucked out of sight behind the dash directly behind the control unit. That actuator has a blue vacuum line on it. I took the orange line off and hit the heat button. I could then feel vacuum. I put it back, then took the blue line off the upper actuator and hit the Auto (AC) button - nothing. I put the orange line on the upper actuator, hit heat, and voila! the vents came on.
So, I put everything back where it belonged and followed the blue line all the way over to a black box to the right of the glove compartment. I don't know what it's called, but it has a sticker marked "MODEL 16197174" and below that "DELCO ELECTRONICS KOKOMO, IN" (if anyone can name it, I'd love to know what it is) This box is about 7" tall, 3" wide and about 5" deep, has a big orange gang plug on the front, but most importantly has about five vacuum lines coming out the bottom front that control all those actuators. There is one black line coming into the box from the engine compartment and there is a kind of manifold where all the vacuum lines from the dash join up to it, and each individual line is controlled via its own little relay. I pulled the gang plug and another electrical plug at the top, removed the two screws that hold it in place (one right in front and another underneath and eased that sucker loose. There is a cover held in place by several tabs and it just has to be winkled loose, but removing that allows the vacuum lines to be removed. Those are on kind of a harness to keep them in the proper order and it just slides loose. After I took the cover off and discovered the relays, I stuck the orange gang plug in, started the car, activated the "blue" relay by poking it with a screwdriver and out came cold air from the dash vents. Fancy that. So, a quick trip to the junk yard and $7.46 later I'm putting in the new unit. Fired it up and tested good for air at the dash as well as the other climate control settings.
Oh, and did I mention that I had to remove the lower dash to get to the mysterious box? You'll need a 7mm socket and also I think a 10mm to remove the screws, but the lower dash pieces come out pretty easily. Instructions for that are available elsewhere online so I won't go into that process.
But the trip to the junk yard led me to fix the passenger side air problem, too. I found a Park Avenue that already had the glove box and dash removed, and as I was disconnecting the wires at the top of the mystery box, I looked up and guess where it leads? Right to the actuator for the PA actuator motor! So, I pulled that while I was at it. Two little screws on top, one at the front that you can see, and one in the back that you can't, but you can get it by feel with a 7mm socket (1/4" drive). Put that in while I was swapping out the mystery box. Buttoned everything up, and as Emeril would say, BAM!!! Works like a charm. Up and down, side to side, hot and cold.
So, if you're having this problem I recommend checking for good vacuum at the actuators, because if that's your problem swapping the box beats the hell out of trying to take all that plumbing apart to swap the actuators, check the doors, etc. and then try to get it all back together.
The amazing thing is that I've seen all kinds of answers to this problem on this board and many other places, and everybody suggests bad vacuum lines, bat actuators and so on, and NOT ONCE have I even heard mention of this black box with the vacuum distribution and the relays. But it definitely was the source of the problem. I fixed it myself and we figure I probably saved a hundred bucks on the parts and no telling how much $$$ in labor (8 hours, but I didn't know what I was doing ahead of time the way a mechanic presumably would) by figuring this out and doing it myself. So, now you know!
i had an 85 caddy that did the same thing.. It turned out to be a broken wire to the distributer
Most likely a failure of the Drivers rear switch in the "UP" position although I have seen exceptions. The vehicles schematic is really required to do a methodical trace of the open circuit in question.
How do you flush radiator in 1997 lesabre?
To flush the radiator, go to any auto store and purchase radiator flush fluid. You will have to flush the entire cooling system.
1. Completely drain the system by opening the draincock at the bottom of the radiator.
2. Replace the draincock, remove the radiator cap, and pour in all of the flush fluid. After the bottle has been emptied, fill the tank with water.
3. Start the car, and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Run for ten minutes with the heater on its highest setting.
4. Drain the system again, and close the draincock.
5. Remove reservoir, pour out any fluid, scrub and clean it, and flush it with clean water. Reinstall.
6. Refill the cooling system with 50/50 coolant.
7. Start car.
8. Place heater-AC control in any AC mode except "MAX" and the temperature to the highest setting.
9. Allow the engine to idle until the lower radiator to coolant pump hose is hot.
10. Cycle engine speed up to about 3000 RPM and back to idle five times. Slowly open bleed valve on the rear of the thermostat housing for approximately 15 seconds to expel any trapped air in the cooling system.
11. After the air has been expelled, fill the radiator. Install the radiator pressure cap, making sure the arrows on the cap line up with the coolant recovery tube. Allow engine to cool to outside temperature, then check coolant level in the reservoir. If not at the "ADD" (of "FULL COLD") mark, add coolant until it is.
How do you replace the window regulator on a 2001 Buick LeSabre?
TAke it to a auto trim shop. This is not a job vor an amature. TAike the door panel off by taking the door havdle off then all the screws you can find. then the retainers on the sides and bottom of the panel. When all is loose, pull out on the bottom and push in on the top and raise up on the panel to disengage from the door. Spedial tools are needed/
Improved answer:
Tools required
10 mm socket and 3" extension
#2 Phillips screwdriver
putty knife
wire cutter
door panel removal tool - available from any auto parts store
straight blade screwdriver
Estimated time to replace 1 1/2 to 2 hours
Cost of new actuator AND motor - $50 on eBay - 11/07
This procedure assumes a rear door motor and lift mechanism will be installed.
1 - remove trim piece from around the door handle by prying it out along the top and front edges. Once loosened, it comes unhinged from the back edge.
2 - remove the Phillips head screw from metal bracker, that is revealed after removing the trim piece
3 - pry the inside light assembly from the door panel and remove the bulb socket from the housing. Remove the Phillips head screw that is revealed after removing the light (this may only apply to front door).
4 - pry the door panel from the frame using a panel removal tool by starting at the bottom (this GM design is greatly improved from the old assembly system - ie: 94 Chevy Caprice) and releasing the 7 plastic studs from the frame.
5 - Remove the 2 mounting bolts for the rear door controller and disconnect the cables.
6 - use a putty knife and door removal tool to remove the plastic vapor barrier.
7 - reach inside the door and locate the cable that is attached to the bottom of the lift mechanism and then cut it.
8 - push the window glass to the full UP position (this will locate it horizonally and vertically) and tape it in place.
9 - near the top of the sheet metal there will be 2 openings (1 square and 1 round). When the glass is in the full up position, there will be (2) 10 mm bolts in view. Loosen these bolts which will open the rubber coated clamps on the bottom of the glass. The lift mechanism will free fall to the bottom position when these bolts are loose.
10 - remove the window lift motor plug and (3) 10 mm nuts that hold the lift mechanism in place and remove through the opening at the front of the inner door sheet metal. It will take a little bit of turning and twisting to remove the unit.
11 - loosen (do not remove) the 2 bolts for the window clamps on the new unit before installing.
12 - make sure the new unit is not in the full up position before installing.
13 - install the new lift mechanism in the door and tighten the (3) 10 mm mounting nuts.
14 - connect the power plug into the new lift motor
15 - temporarily connect the rear door controller, turn on the ignition and slowly raise the new lift mechanism using the window up switch on the driver's door.
16 - when the lift is in the full up position, tighten the window glass clamps using the same access holes as when you removed the glass clamps.
17 - slowly cycle the window down and up to make sure it doesn't bind
18 - disconnect the read door controller and reverse the process for assembly
19 - make sure the rear door light socket and bulb are not trapped behind the plastic.

How do you replace the battery on a 2001 buick lesabre?
Remove any braces that block access. Remove the ground (neg) cable first, then positive cable. Taking a ratchet with a 12" extension and a 13 mm deep socket, remove the battery hold down bolt and bracket at the bottom of the battery. Reverse the procedure; installing the ground cable last. I hope this helps you. Mark
It is under the back seat on the driver's side, not under the hood. Rob
You also have to remove and reconnect the hoses that vent the acid vapors to the exterior. Very important step, as you do not want these toxic gases polluting the cabin of your vehicle. The great part about the battery being under the back seat is that you can even do this procedure in the rain. The bad part about it is that you cannot stand up. You will be hunched over the whole time, and probably on your knees. Not recommended for those of us who are "larger than the average bear." This battery is very expensive. It is a 100 class battery with 770 CCA. You will not find it at Walmart. No matter where you go, you will pay at least twice as much as you would for an ordinary battery. At the GM dealer, be prepared to pay almost three times as much for the thing to be installed. I got over fairly easy. The GM dealer was going to charge me about $200 for the battery to be installed. I went to an Interstate Battery dealer at Christmas time and got an AARP discount. I paid $150 plus tax. That was $120 for the battery and $30 (1/2 hr labor) for the installation, because I was at the mercy of the shop where my battery died that day. I still saved $50 over the dealer price.
Where is the location of the PCV valve on a 1998 Buick Lesabre 3.8 liter engine?
The PCV valve is hidden on top of the intake manifold down in a little enclosure. There are two small bolts holding the PCV cover. Often there is a fairly large vacuum line coming into the enclosure. Remove the cover and pull the PCV valve that sits down into a gasket. Simple

Have 02 Buick laSabre and wipers won't work changed motor and still nothing?
come to find out that the main ground wire was off this made the wipers not function and the hood lite flicker and the cruise control act up
I have a 2000 LeSabre that has lost all sensing of the fuel gauge. At times it reads high and others low, even when I know I have recently filled the tank. It has even gone so far as to trip the low fuel warning alarm. Every time I start the car, the fuel gauge gives a different reading. Last year a reader of "Popular Mechanics" wrote in to the Auto Advisor with the exact same problem for his 2002 Pontiac. Their response was that the fuel pump and fuel status sender are a combined unit and that it has become defective. Repair of this problem requires replacement of the entire assembly. It is located inside the gas tank. To fix this problem requires removing the gas tank and replacing the fuel pump / sender assembly. This was to the tune of $500+. Their suggestion was to use a grease pencil to write down your milage on the windshield each time you fill up. Personally, I just reset the odometer each time and try to fill up every 300 miles or so. I assume that since these GM vehicles -- all close in age -- all have the identical problem that they all suffer from the same cause.
How do you connect the jumper cables 2000 Buick?
The battery should be under the back seat, remember to always connect the ground (black or -) to a peice of bare metal that is grounded to your car like the frame, if you don't you risk blowing up your car because of a hydrogen gas released from the battery, remove the Black - ground first to keep from making a spark and connect the ground last.
Why does 1994 Buick Lesabre oil pressure gauge go up and down?
The oil pump supplies the oil to the engine bearings where it is forced from one to the other. That is what creates the oil pressure. The pressure is transmitted to the gauge by way of a sending unit. You need a mechanical gauge to see what the true pressure is so as to determine if the sending unit is bad. A defective oil filter relief valve will cause a pressure fluctuation. The pressure will increase from an idle as you accelerate. You will need to check and see what normal operating pressure is and at what RPM.

Where is the trunk release latch on a 1995 Buick lesabre?
On left of steering wheel on wall is a "button" to press, then in the backseat area, there is a "cord" that pulls the trunk loose also, it is near the top left hand side of top of seat. May have to dig it out.
