It is not an exact science. When I built mine I measured from where the post would be sitting on the hinge side to where I needed the post to sit so that the gate closer would hit it right. There are several different kinds of locking closers available and it depends on the type that you have. If it is a tad bit long that it ok bc usually you can adjust it somewhat. That is how I did it anyway and it turned out fine. You just dont what it too short then you wont be able to fit the gate. I assembled the gate first then took the measurements. Hope this helps you. There is no such thing as N modem. N is a type of wireless network. When modems are usually associated with wired connection. Getting back to the answer, yes you can connect N type wireless router to virtually any modem (there are some exceptions).

There are different things you can use to restrict access a wireless access point.

First one is to use so called black/white lists. Black list forbids certain MAC address to access the wireless access point everybody else is fine. White list allows only certain MAC address to access the wireless access point. Sometimes it's called MAC filter.

Second thing you can use is a wireless password. It allows to connect to your network only if you know the password. You should use WPA at least.

MAC/PC/printer to router. Router to modem. Modem to wall/internet. Wired or wireless router is optional, same principle.

Wireless transfer uses radio signals and is always slower than wired transfer.
When you use cable, the application (say a router) has the entire cable to itself - other applications (say a stereo) will use a different cable, and the signals in different cables do not interfere with each other.
When sending through air, the application must share the air space with radio, television, cell phones, other wireless routers (where I live there is about a dozen WiFi networks within range) and electronic noise from fridges, microwave ovens and whatnot.

The net effect is that a wireless transmission can only use a tiny slice of the radio spectrum to avoid collision with everything else that is also using radio waves.
A cable transmission, on the other hand, can use almost the entire spectrum without worrying about collision with signals in other cables.

So cable transmissions will always have an edge in bandwidth: Whatever scheme is invented to stuff more data into less wireless spectrum could equally well be used for cable transmissions, and cable has more available spectrum to begin with.

It's purely depends on your router. Some more expensive routers allow to do such stuff. While cheaper counterparts are not capable of such things.

Use a 1 to 2 phone jack splitter and then a filter on your DSL jack.

The most common problem in this kind of sharing is both TV's will be receiving the same signal from the cable tv box, meaning u can only watch 1 channel at a time on the same TVs, and it depends on the cable tv box. However, a splitter can solve the problem only if there is another similar cable tv box for the other tv. The line has to be " Y " split before it gets into the boxes.

If you are using a Windows based PC, open a command prompt by going to Start, Run (or press the Windows key and the "R" key at the same time) and then type cmd and press Enter.

In the black window type ipconfig and press Enter. In the results that appear on your screen, look for a line that says "Default Gateway". Type your default gateway into a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. For example, my default gateway is 192.168.0.1 so in IE I type 192.168.0.1 in the address bar and press enter. Don't worry about typing http:// or www first, it will automatically correct the address when you press enter.
