This restricts the position of your PC and Router as they both have to be within 5m of each other - or you invest in room to room cabling. The wireless connection allows you much more freedom as to where you locate your PC or laptop. The Wireless signal can travel through walls and ceilings so you do not need "line of sight" but it is restricted by the density of the walls and live electrical cabling. Wireless routers also allow you to connect other devices which do not have a network lead connection. This would include mobile phones, game consoles, television receivers etc.

8Mb is a form of speed. First off as a note, a single Byte is equal to eight Bites, which is why advertisements for Broadband companies like to use the Bites since it makes the number seem much higher. MB = MegaByte

How do you calculate voltage drop in a cable?
The answer to this question is simply ohms law. For most cables the resistance of the cable per meter will be defined by the manufacturer, so firstly multiply this by the length of the cable you are using.
Then apply ohms law V=IR. This will give you the voltage drop across the cable.
In most cases for domestic use, this value of R is so small the voltage drop is negligble, though using a cable with the lowest value R will give you the lowest voltage drop for any application.
If you're referring to a voltage drop in an Electrical Network the calculation becomes abit more complex and involves solving some implicit and explicit equations (assuming you know the voltage and power factor at the sending end and the real and complex powers consumed at the receiving end). These two processes are known as modulation and demodulation.

All you have to do is run a CAT-5 cable from one of the ports on your wirless router to the Uplink on your HUB....also keep in mind that when you plug something into the uplink port sometimes there is another port that you MUST LEAVE OPEN in order for the hub to work properly....to find out if this is the case look up the router on the manufacturer's website....and if you don't know what model it is or you're having trouble finding out the manufacturer usually you can find a sticker on the hub that has a combination of letters and/or numbers....take one of them at a time and google them....usually at least one of the numbers will let you know what company makes it and you can go from there
