How do you convert analog signal to digital signal?
Various analog to digital converters are available for this purpose. They are basically made up of operational amplifiers.
The other way is to convert the analog signal into samples. Then converting these samples into quantization levels. These quantization levels are then converted into 1s and 0s.
What is the full form of AD HOC in network?
An Ad Hoc network is a term used to discribe a network link directly between two computers using their network interfaces (wireless or wired). This would be an alternative to a more usual network setup where two or more computers would link up through a central network switch or hub. Normally Ad Hoc networks are created as a temp measure to achive a particular task like printing over Wireless or transfering files from one PC to another.
An Ad Hoc network wold not normally take the place of any other network already configured on a PC. Windows 7 for instance can remember and deal with many networks that have been setup on the PC.
Can you use cable modem for ADSL connection?
No, a cable modem cannot be used for an ADSL connection. Cable modems are designed to work with cable internet services, which use coaxial cables, while ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) requires a DSL modem that connects via telephone lines. Each type of modem is specifically engineered for its respective technology, making them incompatible with each other.
What happens when you reset your iPhone 4S?
It'll shut down, then you'll hold the button to restart it, and it'll restart. A message saying "searching for service" will appear at the top for a few seconds, and that's that. Nothing terribly dramatic, I'm afraid.
it is not a virus but a worm, if you have the proper anti virus software, you will be just fine!!!

Is nand gate a universal gate?
NAND AND NOR gates are called universal gates , becaus with a combination NAND and NOR gates alone, it's possible to create all other logic gates like AND, OR, XOR etc and you can design any logic circuit. eg: inverter-- nand with inputs shorted.
and ------ nand followed by a inverter(using nand).
or--------- giving inverted inputs to nand gate.
Do you need a router for a wireless printer if you have a wireless laptop?
Yes you still need a router t hook up your wireless printer, but it's the same router you have that gives you wireless internet access for your laptop. The router is the Wireless Access Point (WAP) that allows all the wireless devices to connect together and gets it on the wireless system. Hope this helps.
-----
Not necessarily…
Wireless printer can be set up in 2 ways.
1. Infrastructure
2. Ad-Hoc
To set up the infrastructure, you need a wireless router where the printer can be used in more than one computer wireless and you can also use security levels in the router… in this case the computer can have wireless internet connected while trying to use the printer wireless…
For Ad-Hoc the printer can be set up with the computer without a router.., the printer need to be set up once but the connection should be activated every time when you want to print something…

Technical term for the kind of cable that carries a tv signal?
There are two types of cable used for television radio frequency signals: 300 ohm twin lead flat cable and 75 ohm coaxial cable. The twin lead is typically used with a rabbit ears antenna and coaxial is typically used with roof top antenna or cable TV setups.
For television baseband video signals coaxial cables are usually used.
However for digital television baseband video signals these are not adequate and special cables (e.g. HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort) are used. These cables are typically many twisted pairs in a common shield.
Coaxial cable

Why does your isp need to know the mac address of your cable modem or dsl modem?
The MAC address (Media Access Control) is used to identify a specific piece of network hardware, such as a network interface card (NIC), a router or a modem. Since your ISP will only wish to allow Internet access to paying customers, it can check the MAC address of your router against its list to see if it belongs to a valid customer. If you change your equipment, typically, your ISP will provide you with a process to register the new hardware's MAC address with them.
Why has The internet light on your modem has turned red?
same as my modren but i know no what is wrong and hpw to fix it , do u know no how to fix it ?
Is 3 Mbps and 768 Kbps good internet speed?
its pretty good. i have a .7 down and a .3 up and i game online just fine. i cant host games very well though. I cant download large files without it taking like 2 days. but ya, that connection is decent
Is cable TV cable the same as the cable for satellite dish cable?
In the USA, now days it is. Before there were antennas to get TV signals from the air, and you could only get ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS. Then came cable, wire and dish cable. Now there is only cable; dish and cable linkage. There is virtually no more antenna TV signals, and there are thousands of channels.
What is the block function of a modem?
This is a diagram that can be working. It will show all of the steps that will need to be taken while the computer is in working order.
How do you know if your computer has a modem?
Very few modern computers have modems, due to the falling popularity of dialup modems. DSL and Cable modems are extremely rare as internal devices due to limited useability and the inability to network more than one computer or device to such a computer with ease.
If it has a dialup modem, there will be a port for a phone cord in it.
What are the advantages of internal modem?
These devices server two purposes. The modem (more likely a Router if you use Broadband) connects you to the Internet. The Wireless part allows you to connect your PC to it. The advantages over a Wired Router is that a wired router requires you to connect your PC with a network cable. This restricts the position of your PC and Router as they both have to be within 5m of each other - or you invest in room to room cabling. The wireless connection allows you much more freedom as to where you locate your PC or laptop. The Wireless signal can travel through walls and ceilings so you do not need "line of sight" but it is restricted by the density of the walls and live electrical cabling. Wireless routers also allow you to connect other devices which do not have a network lead connection. This would include mobile phones, game consoles, television receivers etc.
What does download speed of 8Mb mean?
8Mb is a form of speed. First off as a note, a single Byte is equal to eight Bites, which is why advertisements for Broadband companies like to use the Bites since it makes the number seem much higher. MB = MegaByte
Mb = MegaBit The capatalization of the B/b is very important as you see. Now one MegaByte is equal to 1000KB (Kilobyte), same rule works here with the capital B/b. One megabit equals to 125 KB (where 8 Mb = 1 MB)
Now for most small screen movies (youtube, etc) to play smoothly without breaking up takes about a steady 250-350KB/ps (per second). Speeds are not always constant since when trying to download it might sometimes come from a host in another country. In which case it has to be redirected through several countries and servers before the file reaches your computer. To see this in action, do the following: In Windows, select Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. Enter the word tracert, followed by a space, then the domain name (i.e.- www.msn.com) http://www.mediacollege.com/internet/troubleshooter/traceroute.html
How do you calculate voltage drop in a cable?
The answer to this question is simply ohms law. For most cables the resistance of the cable per meter will be defined by the manufacturer, so firstly multiply this by the length of the cable you are using.
Then apply ohms law V=IR. This will give you the voltage drop across the cable.
In most cases for domestic use, this value of R is so small the voltage drop is negligble, though using a cable with the lowest value R will give you the lowest voltage drop for any application.
If you're referring to a voltage drop in an Electrical Network the calculation becomes abit more complex and involves solving some implicit and explicit equations (assuming you know the voltage and power factor at the sending end and the real and complex powers consumed at the receiving end). If you wish to know more about this calculation let me know.
THIS CONSIDERATIONS SHOULD BE STRICKLY FOLLOWED: SOUND ENGINEERING AND ACCEPTABLE ECONOMICS;
1.DEFINE DEMAND LOAD - AFTER APPLYNG POWER FACTOR AND EFFECIENCY FOR MOTOR LOADS AND ACTUAL SYSTEM VOLTAGE AND PHASE.
2. ONE WAY LENGTH OF WIRE OR CABLE - FT. (AWG) OR MTR. (SQ.MM) SELECTION
3. MULTIPLY BY 125% TO THE CALCULATED LINE CURRENT TO GET AMPACITY REFERENCE
4. LOOK OR SELECT THAT NEAREST RESULT TO ANY LOCAL CABLE SUPPLIER CATALOGUE OR NEC TABLES AND MATCH IT TO CORRESPONDING CABLE SIZE.
5. APPLY DERATING FACTORS - ALSO AVAILABLE TO NEC OR CABLE SUPPLIERS AND DEFINE THE FF:
A. MEDIUM OF INSTALLATION - PVC OR RSC CONDUIT, CABLE TRAY OR CABLE LADDER OR TRUNKING, THROUGH, ETC.
B. AMBIENT TEMPERATURE - INDOOR OR OUTDOOR?
C. GROUP FACTOR - CONSIST OF CABLE SPACING AND DISTANCE TO WALL OR INSIDE CONDUIT INSTALLED IN TRAYS OR UNDERGROUND
6. APPLY DERATION IN WHICH RESULT IS LESS THAN ONE (1) TO THE PRE-SELECTED CABLE - THIS IS NOW YOUR ACTUAL FOR SELECTED CABLE
7. DEFINE REQUIRED OR ACCEPTED VOLTAGE DROP IN PERCENT VALUE
8. NOW USE THIS FORMULA:
VDapp(APPLICABLE VOLTAGE DROP) = %Voltage Drop x Actual Voltage x 1000 divided by Derated Current x One Way Length x 100
9. THE RESULT WILL HAVE A UNIT OF -- mV/A.Mtr OR MILLIVOLT PER AMPERE-METER
10. NOW COMPARE IT TO AVAILABLE TABLES FOR VOLTAGE DROPS OF CABLES - IF IT IS LOWER THEN SELECT THE NEXT SIZE OR WHICH EVER MEET THE REQUIREMENT.
you'll need to know the resistance of the conductor. copper has a certain amount of resistance per length. there are charts available on this
How do you make a parallel to usb cable?
It's not a simple pin-to-pin connection, I'm afraid. An RS232 Converter chip is needed, along with some other components and soldering skills, to make it work. Here's a link:
<http://www.smileymicros.com/download/USB%20RS232.pdf>
That's an article (in PDF format) that tells you all about it.
Have fun!
It comes from the term MOdulator DEModulator.
A modem converts a digital signal from a computer into an analog signal, so that can be transferred down a telephone line and then at the other end it is converted back into a digital signal so that it can be sent into the receiving computer. These two processes are known as modulation and demodulation.
A modem is a Modulator and Demodulator. It's like a bridge between computer and ordinary telephone lines. Telephone lines only accept analog signals but computers only accept digital (binary) signals so modems help link them.
The data is changed to represent 2 audio frequencies. These noises are superimposed onto a phone line audio. This is known as 'modulation'. The incoming signal of course has to be changed back again to binary data, this is known as 'demodulation'.
The word modem is shorted for "Modulator-demodulator" referring to it's original use.
Modem = MoDem = Modulator + Demodulator
Modem is the device that modulates digital signals from Internal Network into analog signals onto analog lines towards ISP & demodulates analog signals into digital signals for use in Internal Network.
What are typical download speeds for wireless high speed internet?
A average internet speed is around 3-4mb in the UK. This may apply to the US and other counties also. As you may know, there are better internet connections out there which will give you 20, 30, 50, even 100 mb but this is not yet popular.
