Pull the shifter boot up away from the console, look inside on the left side of the shifter is a yellow lever...start car, foot on brake, you should hear a release solenoid click under the dash, above the brake lever. This solenoid supplies power to the shifter release solenoid(inside the console, left side) push down on the yellow lever while lifting up on the shifter release and the car(?) will be able to be moved into other gear ratios. If you release the yellow lever and push the shifter fwd into PARK it will lock again and will require this manual release each time. The yellow lever is the manual release for the solenoid next to the shifter assembly, left side. Either replace it (don't have part number) or manually bend the upper tab of the solenoid that holds the shift lever in park. It's probably cheaper but perhaps not as safe. I could use the part number if anyone has it....

That happened to my catera too and it was just two blown fuses so get a fuse tester and test the fuses or take it to a shop and have them fix it for about $80

WHICH fan relay? There are three fan relays, located in the ecu box on left side, under the hood, just behind the battery. The aft fan is for the radiator fluid temp control, the two fwd fans are for a/c related temps....good luck
Do you have pictures of the location of a 2000 Cadillac Catera crank sensor?
The sensor mounts next to the oil filter lower right rear side of the engine. You will need to jack up the car or use a lift to change it easily. The wire from the sensor runs along the top of the exhaust pipe to the top rear of the engine, make sure the new wire is off the exhaust pipe as much as possible the wire will lose connectivity with age due to the heat andf the motor will die after it heats up. Sorry no pic. Jim.
