Where is the oxygen sensor located on a 1995 Cadillac Sedan Seville?

It is located about in center of the engine compartment on the backside of the motor against the firewall...right above the exhaust manifold. That would be the upstream o2 sensor. The downstream o2 sensor is located somewhere on the exhaust just after the exhaust manifold...

Where is the oil pressure sensor on a 1983 Cadillac DeVille 4.1?

The 1983 Cadillac Deville oil pressure sensor can be found on the side of the engine. The oil pressure sensor will be on the left-hand side of the engine.

Can 22 inch rims fit on a 1996 Cadillac Deville?

Literally, YES, they can fit, but IT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA!!! The limit for any sedan in size would be a 17" to ensure PROPER handling and SAFETY. I know... nobody wants to hear that when their ride can look like a million bucks but TRUST ME as I sit here with physical injuries cause of a bad decision to put 18's on a 15" based wheel...horrible accident... do the right thing! Also, the tire would constantly be blowing cause the profile tire would have to be as thin as paper to fit in that wheel well! 22's are for TRUCKS!! Get a Navigator!! The price of rims now a days would be a good down payment on one!!! Actually, 22 inch rims fit no scrub with normal sized tires. 24's you would have to get a lift kit to prevent scrubbing and this is to keep normal handeling also.

How to fix a engine overheating problem on a 95 ford Contour at low speeds for which the radiator flush coolant and thermostat has been already done?

Could be airlocked in the heater core.what you need to do is loosen off the rad cap so it will stay with the car and drive to a hill. Point it upwards and let it idle to circulate the antifreeze. You should notice that the antifreeze level has gone down. Top it up and replace rad cap. had the very same problem, answer might surprise. make sure your battery cables on the plus side are in excellent shape. replaced mine overhaeting problem gone, radiator fan (electric) was not running at full speed. secondary check that both fans are kicking in as the temp goes up. i think there was a recall on those fans.

Where is the map sensor located in a 1996 s-10 4.3 v6?

The map sensor is located on the passenger side of the engine towards the back on top of the intake manifold. There should be a vacum line with a green cap running to it.

Would a mass air flow sensor on a 99 cadillac deville stop the engine from running?

A bad Mass airflow sensor - on any GM vehicle that is equipped with one - will DEFINITELY stop the engine from running.

Resetting security system on l997 deville?

make sure everything is off (radio, etc). place your key in the ignition, half turned on, for 20 min or so and that will reset the security system. i had to do this with my 2000 deville and it worked. try it at your own risk. goodluck

Why my1991 cadillac deville and the security system won't let me start it?

Majority of the time the problem is in the ignition key chip or ignition lock cylinder

How do you replace the front ABS sensors on a 1992 Sedan DeVille?

The ABS sensor is part of the hub wheel bearing assembly. The hub wheel bearing will have to be replaced. This involves removing the wheel, the hub axel nut and then three torx screws which attach the hub wheel bearing assembly to the steering knuckle. A puller tool will be neede to separate the hub bearing from the steering knuckle. If the hub bearing is heavily rusted to the steering knuckle you may need to heat the metal in order to loosen the rust connection.

How do you replace a starter on a 2000 Cadillac STS Seville?

Disconnect the battery. Remove all the bolts around the top plate that sits on top of the engine (there's 10-12 of them). Set that piece aside. Remove the four bolts holding the fuel injector assembly down (those bolts are about 7 inches long!). Get a 24 inch piece of 2x4 ready because you're going to slowly and gently lift the left side of the fuel injector assembly and then lay the 2x4 under the assembly but on top of the engine. Put a light down in the exposed area and there is the starter. Reach in very carefully with a 10 mm socket and remove both mounting bolts as well as the two bolts that hold the two wires onto the starter. Out it comes. It is a very small, lightweight starter and you'll have no trouble. Have it checked however, because more often than not, the problem with not starting is NOT the starter but rather the neutral/safety switch at the end of your shift cable on the top of the transmission!!! How many 1968 Cadillac sedan devilles are licensed?

82,512 Sedan DeVilles were produced. There is no way to determine exactly how many are still on the road.

How do you replace a twilight sentinel on a 1997 Cadillac?

The flat top of the brown sensor can be removed. Then you can remove the photocell with blue lense like a small light bulb. If you have another complete brown sensor cut from another harness, use a small screw driver to remove terminals from brown plastic on both harness in dash, note which sides are the black and white wire (don't cut or damage terminals on your harness) and replacement (cut from junkyard) sensor. Put cut wires with terminals to side (not needed for this project). Take the "new" sensor and fit over terminals in your dashboard. This method will work for 92-2000 Cadillacs using parts from other Cadillacs with similar component usage.

How do you remove and install a air condition compressor for a 1990 Cadillac Deville 4.5 V8 and front wheel drive?

First you have to evacuate and recover all contents in a/c system using EPA approved recovery system(s).[Please note however that if you are replacing the compressor you also need replace the accumulator, the reason being that the desicant bag in the accumulator is more than likely over saturated with freon]. Raise and support vehicle on jack stands.Disconnect negative battery cable and release tension on serpentine belt.Unplug electrical connector to compressor ,remove a/c lines from compressor;also disconnect lines and connectors from the accumulator.Remove compressor mounting bolts, while noting the locations of all bolts and/or brackets.Installation is the reverse of removal.Be sure before installing new unit to pour about half of the new pag oil into compressor and hand compressor clutch(not the pulley)about 10 full turns. After installing comp and accumulator evacuate(vacuum)system to remove any air or dust particles that may have gotten into system during installation[vacuum at least 30 min].Recharge system with specified amount of refrigerant and remaining pag oil.TWO NOTES OF CAUTION NEVER OPEN THE HIGH SIDE(SMALL HOSE)OF A/C SYSTEM BECAUSE OF EXTREMELY HIGH PRESSURE!!!ALSO MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE NEW O-RINGS WHERE APPLICABLE AND NEVER REMOVE A/C COMPONENTS FROM PACKAGING UNTIL YOUARE READY TO INSTALL BECAUSE OF THE RISK OF DIRT AND AIR CONTAMINATION!! What is resistor and its use?

Resistance: Electrical resistance describes how an electrical conductor (a wire) opposes the flow of an electrical current (flow of electrons). To overcome this opposition a voltage (a energy) must dropped (used) across the conductor (wire). Resistance can be described by ohms law: Ohms Law: R = V / I (Resistance = Voltage / Current) (resistance measured in ohms) where: Voltage [V]= the energy lost across an component (voltage measured in volts). Current [I] = the charge (electrons) flowing through an component (current measured in Amps). Electrical resistance can be thought of as sticking your hand out a car window. The faster [current] you drive the harder the wind presses [resistance] against you hand and therefore it takes more energy [voltage] to hold your steady. When trying to overcome electrical resistance, the electrical energy lost is turned into heat. This is how the elements of a household stove, toaster, and fan heater work. Because of the vacuum in a light bulb, the electrical energy lost is instead turned into light. It can be seen the electrical resistance plays a large role in modern life. Resistor: The resistor is the most common electronic component and is used to limit and/or control the voltage and current in an electronic circuit. Resistors are carefully manufactured to provide a predetermined value of electrical resistance which may range from 0.1 ohms to 100,000,000 ohms, depending on the application. The physical size of a resistor also varies dependant on the amount of power passing through the resistor, given by: P = V x I (Power = Voltage x Current) (power measured in watts) There are also many types of resistors including: · Variable Resistor - changes resistance when its shaft is rotated (volume knob on a stereo). · Thermistor - changes resistance when the temperature changes (used in a thermostat). · Light Dependant Resistor (LDR) - changes resistance when the lighting changes (used in children's night-lights). Resistor Example: An LED is a small red light (such as the one on the front of most TVs) and requires 2.0 volts and 0.02 amps to operate correctly. If we connected that LED up directly to a 12 volt battery, the voltage would be too high, and too much current would flow… the LED would blow up. We need to use a resistor to limit the voltage and current. But which value of resistance should the have resistor? Uses ohms law: R = V / I = (12.0 - 2.0) / 0.02 = 500 ohms (Note: the voltage across the resistor is the battery voltage minus the voltage we want across the LED) But which value of power should the resistor be capable of handling? P = V x I = (12.0 - 2.0) / 0.02 = 0.2 Watts hope this helps

How do you install an egr valve on a 1997 cadillac deville?

I have a 95 Eldorado and recently had an EGR valve problem. After removing the plastic "Northstar" cover, you will be able to see the intake manifold, fuel rail, and alloof the injectors. the EGR valve is located right next to the fuel rail, before any of the injectors. If your car is 1995 or newer the fuel rail has a metal flange that is placed over one of the bolts holding the valve in plae. If you are doing this yourself it is important to remember to remove the injectors from the manifold, and not the fuel rail, otherwise you may run into problems.

After removing the fuel rail just enough to get the flange off from the top of the EGR valve bolt, unplug, and unbolt the valve. Remember that there is a special gasket for this part, and to make sure not to break or lose it.

After the valve is removed you will see 2 holes in the bottom of it. one open, and one with a screw looking pin in it, that is spring loaded. Carefully take a screwdriver, and compress the pin. If it sticks, theres your problem, and that "Check Engine" light is caused by that. Alhough its not entirely recommended, i used carburater, and fuel enjector cleaned in the valve to free up the pin. An important thing to remember is that if you do this DO NOT hold the vlave upside down. These cleaners are corrosive, and will ruin the sensors in the vlave. Lay it sideways to clean.

After doing this, try the responsiveness of the vlave with a screwdriver again. If it functions proberly, you can reinstall it. If not, you must by a new part.

I cleaned my EGR valve last weekend, and its worked great so far. Not to mention i saved about 450 dollars by reusing the part, and doing it myself. Another win for do it yourselfers!

Where is the radiator drain on a 2004 trailblazer 8 cyl?

There is no drain cock on the radiator. Pop the lower rad hose off or have a pressurized evacuation exchange done at your local quickie lube.

You have brake problems on a cadillac deville and i think its the master cylinder?

ok in this situation theres one of three things that could be the prob, first the master cylinder, if the pedal travels all the way to the floor with no resistance that's the problem. 2nd air in the lines, you would have to bleed your breaks, best to take it to professionals. and 3rd you have a broken wheel cylinder, these are located in the rear drums. they break due to excessive wear on the back breaks causing the little piston to come out releasing all the break line pressure. one bad line like that will screw up ur whole system.

Why on your 1980 Cadillac Coupe DeVille the air condictioner is blowing the air out of heater vents?

It appears your blower motor is not working correctly on your 1980 Cadillac Coupe Deville. The vents are for both AC and heat. You may also be losing vacuum pressure. If you cannot find the source, your mechanic can help you do so.
