hope this may help, on my 88 eldorado. it is reset or changed by pin hole. Look for a small needle hole in the area of display. mine is on lower right corner of center console, right below time and date display message.

PASS-Key II uses a resistor pellet in the ignition key that is read by the system in your vehicle. If the key resistor matches the code stored in the vehicle system, the vehicle's fuel and starting systems will be enabled. If an incorrect key is used, the vehicle's fuel and starting systems are disabled for three minutes. Additional attempts during this lockout period will not start the car, even with the correct key. If the engine does not start and the STARTING DISABLED REMOVE KEY message is displayed in the Driver Information Center, your key should be checked for damage. Starting may be attempted with an undamaged key immediately. See your dealer or a locksmith for key service. If the STARTING DISABLE REMOVE KEY and WAIT 3 MINUTES messages are displayed, the key should be cleaned. After three minutes, try again. A START CAR message will appear at this time. If the engine still does not start, wait three minutes and try a duplicate key. At this time, fuses should be checked (see "Fuses and Circuit Breakers" in the Index). If the engine does not start with the duplicate key, your vehicle needs service. See your dealer for service. If the THEFT SYSTEM PROBLEM, CAR MAY NOT START message is displayed during vehicle operation, a fault has been detected in the system. This means the PASS-Key II system is disabled and is not protecting the vehicle. The vehicle usually restarts. See your dealer for service. If an ignition key is lost or damaged, see your dealer or a locksmith to have a new key made.

There should be a button somewhere that turns it off. Question is, why do you want to turn it off? to the left of the steering wheel the are a few buttons. TRAC OFF press it, the TRAC light appears on the dash.

FYI: the TRAC system can only be turned off up to about 20 mph.

Depending on year, either 10w-30 or 5w-30 is recommended by the factory. And they should know.

You must drain and flush the orange before going green, and there is a chance you may not get it all. Orange plus green = sludge. It's better for the first time to drain the orange, flush the best you can, and use the universal "works with all" antifreeze. Then you can go green with any subsequent changes. You absolutely should NOT change from the orange Dexcool to green antifreeze. The green will deteriorate certain components and gaskets used in the engines that use the Dexcool antifreeze. Yes, the orange is much more expensive, but it does not require flushing and replacing very often. I would never put the green in a car that requires the orange.

They hold around 20 gallons. If you run it clear dry you might squeeze 22 gallons in there.

Ok, here you go. A) With an ohm meter, measure how many ohms between one side and the other of the "chip" in the ignition key (from the metal ridge in the middle of the black plastic on one side of the key to the other side). An electronics store or Radio Shack will probably measure the resistance of the key for you. B) on the bottom of the steering column, find the passkey wires (they are yellow) and they are quite small. MAKE SURE YOU DONT HAVE THE AIRBAG WIRES!!! C) cut these wires and install a resistor of matching resistance to what you just tested....i.e. if the key measures 5 ohms, go to Radio Shack or an electronics store and buy a pack of 5 ohm resistors, solder it in between the two cut wires. D) Just remember that any properly cut ignition key will now start and run the car, the passkey system is defeated. This also works to use for a remote starter system, so you dont need a spare key or "Passkey (or VATS) II module"

Alldata discontinued everything before 1983. The only way now is to find a chiltons or haynes or a factory service manual.

Most drivetrain parts and some body parts are interchangeable, the largest issue being the larger bumpers on the '73 vs the '72.

under the air filter box,loosen the clamp on the air intake hose and spin the whole air filter box up ,you will then see the trans dipstick.

It is located in the fuel tank.. you must drop the fuel tank.... disconnect the fuel lines and vapor lines... pull the sending unit/pump assembly out,replace the pump and the sock filter, then put everything back in reverse order..

You need to remove the top dash panel. It is a blue photocell housed by the L/S dash speaker. Good luck

Behind the back seat. A person has to take the bottom seat part out and the back prtcome off. it is moued to the body of the car. Very simple to replace

I have a 1975 Eldorado and there is a button inside the glove box to push. It pops the trunk lid open. Hope it works for you.

First you have to find the #1 cylinder. If you look at the two valve covers, the most forward one towards the front of the engine is #1.Then you have to get the piston up to top dead center or TDC. If you are lost here , leave it to a pro. When the distributor is then placed in, rotor should then pont to the #1 plug in the dist cap. Good luck
