Due to the way GM decided to do the control of the heaters in the seats. It's what's called bang-bang control. The control system turns on the seat heaters and when the desired temp is reached, turns it off. This is very hard on the heaters. Bet you'll find the seat side of the heater open. Best solution, I believe, is to replace with an aftermarket seat heater.

DANGER: Do not cut a hole to remove the fuel pump. Good way to start a fire and possibly kill yourself. If there is not an access panel factory installed then you will have to drop the tank in order to replace the fuel pump.

An Airbag service light can be reset by fixing the problem that caused it to go off. Unplug the battery for 30+ minutes, or clearing the codes with an OBD scanner.

How Do I change the serpentine belt on a 1989 Cadillac Eldorado ?

**first remove present decal. You have to do this without scraping the center cap itself.

**second buy plastic primer paint in a spray can. Take some painter's tape and tape the outside rim of the middle of the center cap. Paint the middle of the center cap. Wait 1 hour, paint again.

**third buy paint special for plastic in a spray can (i think burgundy is the best color). Apply one coat. Wait for an hour and apply another coat.

**FOUR BUY SOME CLEAR COAT PAINT IN A SPRAY CAN. FOLLOW THE SAME PROECDURE AS DESCRIBED IN THE THRID STEP.

**four buy "something" to glue onto the center of the center cap. For example, i bought four of used cadillac shields that were less than three inches in diameter for $29 bucks. Super glued them on. And wow. What a difference.

It can cause the ignition lock cylinder to not turn. If it turns then the key is not why it will not start. Look into the ignition switch, starter, battery, or connections.

The fuel pump in the older eldos is located inside the gas tank. once you drop the tank its pretty straightforward from there.

The fuel door is not on a stand alone fuse The fuel door switch is deactivated if the button in the glove box was depressed for valet service (which also locks out the access to the trunk via the dash button). That's an easy (and free) fix.

Does this have a 4.6L Northstar engine? Each cylinder head has four plugs. Look at the valve covers. If you have ignition wires (I think you do) you will need to pull them up out of the valve cover to access the plugs. If you have a later COP style ignition, there will be a coil sitting on top of each plug which needs to be unbolted and pulled up out of the valve cover hole to access the spark plug.

In either case, before pulling a spark plug wire or ignition coil out of the valve cover, twist it back and forth a bit. If it's stuck, you may need to spray some silicone based lubricant into the hole. If the boot of the wire or coil is reddish or brownish it is burned and _must_ be replaced. This is usually cause by a leaking spark plug due to manufacturing defect or being installed undertight.

It is located in the valley between the cylinders. You can loosen the throtle body, all the bolts holding the intake manifold and then lift the manifols just enough without disturbing the fuel rail to gain access from the lest side of the car to the right. This can be done with common tools and the gaskets on the manifold and TB can be reused if not damaged.

First off, it does not contain Freon. Freon is R12 and your Hummer contains R134a which is not Freon. This is not a DIY job. If it is low of refrigerant then it has a leak, and it is illegal to add refrigerant without repairing the leak. I suggest you take the vehicle to a professional that has the expertise and special tools to accomplish this repair.

im pretty sure every northstar has the starter located under the intake plenum in the lifter valley between the heads. youll have to take off the intake to see it, it pokes through the flywheel cover at the top of the transmission. hope this helps.
