I want to rent my video camera to someone. Can I get renter's insurance to cover it if it is damaged stolen or lost?

Yes, but typically the person responsible for the equipment insures it. If they have an accident that harms your camera, you would probably want them to make a claim instead of you so your claim history isn't affected. Check to see if they have renters or homeowners coverage and (if camera's not being used for business purposes) if it includes "damage to property of others" - I believe most if not all do.

Otherwise, check with your agent or ask them to check with theirs about a Personal Article Floater. If it's business use, see link below for Take 1, a program designed specifically for this.

What takes photographs that a computer can read?

How do i fight a red light camera?

Specific traffic laws used from state to state, but there are some general defenses that have proven effective:

- If the vehicle and driver cannot both be accurately identified, the citation is usually dismissed. Check the photos included with the citation (and check the higher-resolution originals at the courthouse or police station). If the license plate number is not clear or the driver cannot be identified (blurry, shaded or just not you), contest the citation on these grounds.

- Most states require clearly posted signs within a certain distance (e.g. 300 yards in California) of traffic cameras notifying drivers of their use. If no such signs exist, or if they're blocked from view, this could be grounds for dismissal.

- This one's a technicality, but has worked in court. Most traffic codes state that "a driver facing a steady circular red signal alone shall stop at a marked limit line," or something similar. LED traffic signals take approximately 0.1-0.2 seconds to fully light (incandescent bulbs take slightly longer) after power is applied. If your citation shows that you crossed the marked line within this time, you were most likely facing a light in the process of illuminating, not a steady light.

- All states also have minimum yellow light times, which vary according to the posted speed limit. Check your states requirements and then videotape the traffic signal with a decent camera (you can accurately time the yellow light by counting the number of frames in which the light is yellow and dividing this by the number of frames per second). It's rare, but occasionally the yellow light's too short, and this is grounds for dismissal.

*** If you received the citation in California, consider contesting your citation through a Trial by Written Declaration (look up the procedure and requirements online), instead of in person. Police officers are paid (usually overtime) to defend a citation in court, so it's no surprise they almost always show up. However, they get no extra pay to prepare a written defense to a Trial by Written Declaration... apparently, 30% of Trials by Written Declaration result in the dismissal of the citation simply because the signing officer neglects to prepare a written defense of the ticket.

There are other defenses out there, just do some searching. Hope this helps and good luck!

Can I rewire a camera with a rj-11 type connector to a cord with audio video and power connectors how do I match the colored cables?

There are interfaces that can be used with RJ45 connectors and Cat 5 / 6 cable. Video and audio signals can be carried but you may have a problem with power, depending on the length of the line and the type of interface units you select. The interfaces are supplied in pairs, one to transmit the signal and the other to receive it and convert it back to standard video and audio signals. Try a search for "video over cat5" for suppliers.

What is the difference between oblique aerial photos and just normal oblique photos?

oblique photoThe difference is oblique photos are at a lower angles while aerial photos are at a higher angle

Improved Answer:

"The biggest differences in Oblique aerial photos and normal oblique photos are perspective. A photo is classified as Oblique when the imaging sensor is capturing the photos at a user angle greater than 0 degree in an upward or downward angle.

When Oblique images are captured in an aerial platform they are set at a downward angle typically between 15-45 degrees. The aerial platform is capturing data at altitudes typically ranging between 3500-5500 AGL. Camera, lens length, firing angle and capture altitude will all determine the area the photo covers.

So when you compare oblique photos captured in a terrestrial manner and ones captured in the air the main difference in what you get at the end of the day is your perspective."

What software do I use to burn photographs downloaded onto computer from camera onto a disk like a CD or DVD?

If this is on an Apple computer, I can't help you, but purportedly they have built in software to do this.

If your computer is running Windows XP or Vista and you just want to save pictures to a CD, you should be able to "Copy and Paste" your picture files to the CD drive (i.e. your D drive) in file Explorer. After you've 'pasted' your pictures to the drive and put a blank CD in the drive, right-click on the drive in Explorer and select "Write files to CD".

If you want to create a video (wmw) of your pictures (you can add a soundtrack as well) that can played on computers with Windows Media Player you can use Windows Movie Maker. It may be already loaded on your computer, or you should be able to download from the Microsoft website (www.microsoft.com). If you want to create a video that can be played on a (newer) DVD player, you need a DVD burner (drive) which almost certainly would have come with some software to create and burn videos. You can also create a VCD video that can be copied to a CD and played on newer DVD players, although it's somewhat hit and miss on what DVD players support what 'home-made' media.

What does CF stand for in photography?

CF stands for Compact Flash. Compact Flash cards are approximately 1.25x2.5" in size, and are used as a kind of digital film. The images from the digital camera are recorded on the CF card, which can then be placed inside a CF card reader, connected to a computer, to view and download the images.

Most, if not all, professional-grade DSLR camera bodies use CF cards, as they have high capacities (currently upwards of 32GB) and are extremely durable.

Many consumer-grade cameras use SD, XD or Memory Stick cards, rather than CF cards.
