The belt is burning up and wind is pushing the smell through the air conditioning.

Absolutely not. That would be a very bad swap for many reasons. For one thing your speedometer will read 55.2 at a true 60 mph. If you want to go with a 65 series tire then go with a 175/65-15 which is a good swap.
